Democrats try to convince us that drilling for more oil is the answer to high gas prices, except when it’s not [Reader Post]

Not long ago Barack Obama accused Republicans of playing politics with gas prices:

“Only in politics do people root for bad news, do they greet bad news so enthusiastically,” Obama said before a crowd of students.

Say What? January 17, 2012 Edition [Reader Post]

First Lady Michelle Obama: “I guess it’s more interesting to imagine this conflicted situation here and a strong woman. But that’s been an image that people have tried to paint of me since the day Barack announced. That I’m some angry black woman.”

Oprah Winfrey on Barack Obama: “I think he is, uh, a masterful leader and I think that what it takes to be able to do that on a daily basis and to stand up in a world where everybody is open to attacking you all the time, very hard job…I’m proud of him.” Continue reading

Say What? April 6th, 2011 Edition [Reader Post]

Harry Reid: “I am extremely disappointed that after weeks of productive negotiations with Speaker Boehner, Tea Party Republicans are scrapping all the progress we have made and threatening to shut down the government if they do not get all of their extreme demands…The division between the Tea Party and mainstream Republicans is preventing us from reaching a responsible solution on a long-term budget.”

Howard Dean: “If I was head of DNC, I would be quietly rooting for [a government shutdown].”

White, 63 year-old Howard Dean: “The TEA party is all over 55 and white; this is a shrinking minority. The shrinkier they get, the madder they get. This is why they have gotten so far off the deep end.” You make the call, whether or not he has gotten so far off the deep end. EEEEEYAH!! Continue reading

Chris Matthews: “You know, gentlemen, I’m a little bit jubilant right now, a little bit frisky so I’ll say something that will bother people…In a way it’s like it took Obama to have this [the revolution in Egypt] happen, or it’s just so serendipitous.”

Bill Maher: “I think he’s [Obama] a centrist the way he’s a Christian…he’s pretending to be a centrist.” Continue reading

Say What? 2/1/2011 edition. [Reader Post]

Finally, Democrats stopped with the crazy talk and the violent rhetoric. Just kidding.

Democrat Rep Jim Moran: “It [Republican victories in November] happened … for the same reason the Civil War happened in the United States. Southern states, particularly the slaveholding states, didn’t want to see a president who was opposed to slavery. In this case a lot of people in this country, it’s my belief, don’t want to be governed by an African-American, particularly one who is inclusive, who is liberal, who wants to spend money on everyone and who wants to reach out to include everyone in our society. And that’s a basic philosophical clash.” Continue reading
