Woman dies during 33-week abortion…Victims identified

Jill Stanek:

I did not report on the death last week of a patient of late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart because I did not have corroboration.

I now do.

Carhart’s alleged victims were 29-year-oldJennifer McKenna Morbelli, pictured right, and her 33-week-old preborn daughter, Madison Leigh. Read their obituary here.

My sincere sympathies go to Jennifer and Madison’s family, who is certainly suffering unimaginable grief.

I confirmed the identities of the victims through two sources. After a name ID was received from an impeccable informant, sidewalk counselors at the abortion clinic positively identified Jennifer’s obituary photo. Jennifer’s obituary also states she “passed away suddenly.”

Following is the information and timeline pieced together through those and other sources. Operation Rescue’s Cheryl Sullenger is to be commended for her work exposing this terrible tragedy.

Jennifer was married and a kindergarten teacher at Church Street Elementary School in White PlainsNew York. Jennifer was carrying a wanted baby. At present her registry is still online. Very sad to view. (UPDATE 2/10 12:20p:Registry link has been removed. View screen shot here.)

Approximately two weeks ago Jennifer learned her daughter suffered from fetal anomalies.

Jennifer, her husband, her parents, and her sister traveled to Carhart’s late-termGermantown Reproductive Health Services abortion clinic inGermantownMaryland, last weekend.

Carhart began the abortion process on Sunday, February 3, in the afternoon, according to sidewalk counselors who maintain a constant presence at the clinic when it is open. They noted Jennifer appeared “very” late-term.

According to those counselors, Sunday is when Carhart kills late-term babies by lethal injection into the heart through the mothers’ abdominal wall.

Jennifer and her family returned on Monday, presumably to begin the labor induction process by insertion of laminaria or prostaglandins to dilate the cervix, and again on Tuesday.

They likely spent each night at a nearby hotel, as is the usual process for a multi-day, late-term abortion at Carhart’s Germantown clinic.

Each day sidewalk counselors noted in real-time annotations that Jennifer appeared more and more pale.

The family returned again on Wednesday, presumably for the delivery of Jennifer’s dead baby Madison, staying nine hours, an extraordinary length of time. They left at 4:35 p.m.

Carhart and his wife Mary Lou left soon afterward. The two typically fly out on Wednesday afternoons to either Indianapolis, Indiana, or BellevueNebraska, to commit abortions on Thursdays. Carhart is what’s known as a “circuit rider” abortionist.

“Jennifer McKenna-Morbelli of New Rochelle, passed away suddenly on Thursday February 7, 2013 at age 29 with her baby girl Madison Leigh.”

You don’t know what the extent of the “fetal abnormalities” were, do you? My guess is that they must have been extreme, to cause a young married woman to decide on late termination of a pregnancy when there’s was already a name in mind for the child. My guess is that it may well have been one of the saddest and most difficult decisions she ever made. No doubt it’s totally inconceivable to you that such decisions are sometimes made out of love.

This is one family tragedy following upon another. Utilizing it publicly to further your agenda is utterly despicable.

Carhart and his wife Mary Lou left soon afterward. The two typically fly out on Wednesday afternoons to either Indianapolis, Indiana, or Bellevue, Nebraska, to commit abortions on Thursdays. Carhart is what’s known as a “circuit rider” abortionist.

Dr. LeRoy Carhart travels because he believes such legal medical procedures should continue to be available to women who choose or require them, and because so many local doctors have now been intimidated by “pro-life” terrorists that they have discontinued providing them. He was a close friend of Dr. George Tiller, who was assassinated by a “pro-life” terrorist as he as he attended worship services with his family at their church.

Dr. Carhart regularly receives death threats. On the day Nebraska passed the parental-notification law, Dr. Carhart’s family farm was burned to the ground, killing his 17 horses, the family cat, and their dog. His sidewalks have been smeared with manure. His daughter has received late night telephone calls telling her that her family has been murdered.

It’s domestic terrorism, plain and simple. The f—ing Taliban also claim to be doing God’s work.

@Greg:

You don’t know what the extent of the “fetal abnormalities” were, do you?

No, but neither do you.

This is one family tragedy following upon another. Utilizing it publicly to further your agenda is utterly despicable.

What is a tragedy is that a relatively middle income couple has been taught by society that if they are to have a baby that doesn’t meet the “perfection” standard, they can kill it. 33 weeks is almost term. Ambiotic fluid tests would have allowed the couple to know that the child had problems long before 8 1/2 months.

Murder is murder, Greggie. Just because you call it “reproductive health” doesn’t change what it actually is.

Greg@#1 Says:
“My guess is that it may well have been one of the saddest and most difficult decisions she ever made. No doubt it’s totally inconceivable to you that [ such decisions are sometimes made out of love.”] [???] Huh???

She was 33 weeks into her pregnancy she could had gone through with the birth…[Before Greg tries to Debunk this, there is nothing I’ve read that tells me this was not possible].

Greg…the Baby would have died shortly after Birth… A “decision made out of Love” to MANY would have been to have the Baby, SHOW THIS TINY HUMAN LOVE, HOLD IT, CUDDLE IT AND LOVE IT FOR IT’S SHORT LIFE…THE BABY WOULD HAVE FELT THAT… AND THE BABY WOULD HAVE LEFT THIS WORLD IN A MORE HUMANE MANNER …TO DIE NATURALLY… THAN STICKING A NEEDLE FILLED WITH POISON IN IT’S TINY HEART AND LET IT DIE.

To Stick a needle filled with poison into a baby’s heart, which is about to be born in order to KILL IT is a decision made with LOVE?? A decision made with love…A DECISION Made with LOVE…Gee, no matter how I write it, I can’t fathom this is a “decision made with LOVE”

Now, that is what I find inconceivable…

Wow Greg, you’re a pretty hard guy to think doing this ‘out of LOVE’ to a tiny helpless baby is just A-Ok according to you own [morals??] and by your liberal Left Ideology/Standards….

Greg next time you see a tiny helpless week old baby, you think about that needle that get’s shot into this little humans heart…and think about all the times it’s done ‘OUT OF LOVE’…

Sadly this woman did indeed invoke her right to choose….out of LOVE??

Just to note: Many Conservatives/Catholics those on the Right are not opposed to saving the mother’s life due to complications of the pregnancy…

Tragic for all…even for those who did not personally know her…

Some people seem to have great difficulty with the idea that both love and compassion can motivate acts that they personally disapprove of. There are circumstances when not to be born at all could be a blessing.

If you can’t believe that to be true, you should at least respect the fact that there are highly compassionate people who believe it to be true, and who make their moral decisions within the context of that understanding.

@Greg:

There are circumstances when not to be born at all could be a blessing.

Really? And when would those circumstances be? Or do you think that there are those who add nothing to society, so the value of their life is zero?

@Greg:

Gregory, what you said was very well put and I completely agree. We are able to treat our pets that are in pain and suffering than we treat our loved ones. The baby was wanted when the anomalies were discovered. They must have been extreme for her and her husband to come to this conclusion, that I too believe was out of love. If the baby was a harlequin, then its entire life would have been in pain until it at last died. I can’t fault the mother for wanting to spare her child pain and suffering.

@retire05:

Look up harlequin ichthyosis. That is definitely at least one case where it would be kinder to the child that it peacefully die rather than suffer.

@americangrl:

Look up harlequin ichthyosis.

Almost every child born with that disorder dies within hours. But you don’t know that the child discussed here suffered from that disease, do you? And you obviously think it was better to let the infant suffer the agony of death while still in it’s mother’s womb, instead of a hospital where all possible comforts would be allowed it.

The baby was wanted when the anomalies were discovered

But when learned it was not perfect, it was murdered. And its mother gave her life because she trusted a man who should have his medical license revoked and he should be forced to burn in Hell for all eternity for the deaths he has caused.

No one is perfect, and bad things happen to good people, like having a handicapped child. But what separates us from the animals is that we don’t kill our young for our own advantage.

In ancient Rome, girl babies were not valued, so even in wealthy Roman homes, girl babies were thrown out into the streets garbage piles, left to die. Life, in ancient Rome was not protected, or valued. And that contributed to the downfall of the Roman empire. We should learn from history.

this is very sad, it bring a tear to one who read it,
and what if there would not have been availafility for her to have the abortion,
what if the baby would have had a super brain to contribute to society,
like this ENGLISH MAN IN A WHEELCHAIR WHO FOUND A SECRET OF THE WORLD,
THE LAW OF QUANTUM…… [ I FORGOT HIS NAME AND THE NAME OF THAT LAW]
HE IS STILL ALIVE AND A SUPERIOR HUMAN, TEACHING THAT LAW,

I’m with Greg on this one..

There’s a slippery slope here.
In the UK abortions were done somewhat rarely before socialized medicine.
Then, after it, the numbers of abortions kicked up a notch.
Lately, in the last ten or so years, more and more doctors are testing pregnant moms and telling them of any prenatal abnormality in their baby’s DNA.
It could be just a propensity to have a disorder, or it might be a sure thing.
But these young mothers-to-be are also warned of the extra costs that THEY will have to bear IF they give birth and the baby’s care is costly because of the abnormality.
ObamaCare sets the US up for that same slope.*
Already ObamaCare is setting up standards for limiting knee replacements because of age, smoking history, weight, and more.
Already ObamaCare is setting up standards that cut women off from Pap Smears after a certain age, from mammography after a certain age, too.
Prostate exams are being cut back according to age.

Of course all medical procedures carry risk.
Even getting your wisdom teeth extracted has a small chance of killing you.
So, the two deaths was to be expected – eventually – considering the number of late-term abortions performed in the US.

But those deaths should shock us into re-examining where we are going in medicine.
Instead I see a large group of actuarial-minded folks who say, ho-hum.
We are headed toward lots more of these deaths rather than fewer.
Being numb toward it is disgusting.

*And like with being turned down by ObamaCare for a procedure, one may exercise the option of going ahead with the birth or the new knee- on her own dime.

It take only a short time for the specialist to be ask by government to research on the brain scan in the womb, and order an abortion, or the baby won’t have benefits of medical care,
I read that HITLER had those kind of monster scientists researching on human,

His face is so pale and lifeless it’s as if he has no soul. Who could ever marry such a man that takes pleasure in ending children’s lives?

To violate this family’s privacy to further your own beliefs is disgusting and reprehensible. What ever side you are on does not make a difference to the fact that no one had the right to out her family like this. And for all the bible thumpers: Let ye who are without sin cast the first stone…..

God Bless you Jennifer. Rest in peace.

@Barb:

To violate this family’s privacy to further your own beliefs is disgusting and reprehensible.

And how do you expose the criminal without talking about the victim? We have rules that do not permit the names of victims when they are children who are still alive, but the woman who died was a 29 year old adult and her child is also dead, thanks to a disreputable doctor who violates the very oath he took as a doctor.

And for all the bible thumpers: Let ye who are without sin cast the first stone…..

What a nasty comment. “Bible thumpers?” Nothing like a perjorative to make your point, is there?

Barb
this is not a stone casting place, this is an opinion giving place,
and you also gave youres and did not get any stone, just opinion,
in this free COUNTRY,

I am sorry my comment offended you. I will save it for the other sites who are saying she has no right to have her funeral in a Catholic church or be buried in a Catholic cemetery. My apologies to those I offended as it was not written here.

However a child in my family was one of Jennifer’s students. Her little heart is devastated and I don’t want her knowing this. So I stand by my statement that this was an invasion of her family’s privacy with consequences that can also hurt many young children.

I am in favor of him losing his license but there are other ways to go about this without causing all the hurt that has been done.

I don’t know if the victim of this henios doctor was eligible to be buried from a Catholic Church in consecrated ground or not. It all depends. If she received Final Absolution prior to her death, perhaps she was, but if not, and she died in a state of sin after having contributed to the death of her child, she is not. And why would being buried by a Catholic ceremony be important to her? After all, she wasn’t exactly a praticing Catholic.

However a child in my family was one of Jennifer’s students. Her little heart is devastated and I don’t want her knowing this.

Protecting a kindergarten-aged child from the news is not the responsibility of the press, or any one other than that child’s parents.

So I stand by my statement that this was an invasion of her family’s privacy with consequences that can also hurt many young children.

How so? Do we, as a society, refuse to release the names of victims of crime because it is “an invasion of the family’s privacy?” No, victim names are release all the time. And how will this “hurt many young children” who should not even be aware of what an abortion is? All they need to know is that their teacher died. End of story. And it is the parent’s responsibility to protect them from the details.

I am in favor of him losing his license but there are other ways to go about this without causing all the hurt that has been done.

Why? Her death was perpetrated by what I consider a criminal act. She was a victim, in some ways. By those who convinced her she had no other option, by the doctor whose malpractice took her life. How is she any different than any other victim, say the mother who has been gunned down in the violent streets of Chicago? She’s not.

Her death was perpetrated by what I consider a criminal act. She was a victim, in some ways. By those who convinced her she had no other option, by the doctor whose malpractice took her life.

What makes you think anyone convinced her of anything? She was a fully grown woman. Why not credit her with having had the intelligence and moral sensibilities to make the most important decisions affecting her own life herself?

It must be easy to see things in black and white as you do retire05. No one has the right to judge her except God and I am sure she has already been forgiven and welcomed into his kingdom. So if you want to judge her go ahead. As far as the children, we can do everything to protect them and they can still here it from another source so please don’t give me advice on how to protect them.

There is no use in talking to people like you who think yours is the only way to go. In my mind and my opinion, no one knows what Jennifer thought and that is between her and her God. I pray for her family.

I am done here. I hope no one ever has the cause to judge you as harshly as you judge others. Goodbye.

I am now blocking this site so you need not reply.

So now we know, Barb is a coward who wants to have her voice, but deny that to others.
