White House tried to squelch Fox Benghazi coverage

Loading

Greta Van Susteren:

“Since day one of Benghazi FOX News has been aggressively investigating. It hasn’t been easy. It’s been more like pulling teeth to get answers from the Obama administration. The Obama administration’s behavior post Benghazi has been weird. Like they’re trying to hide something. First that silly story about that video. Remember Susan Rice on all the Sunday talk shows? Even President Obama kept talking about the video for weeks. So FOX continued to press for information… A few weeks later when FOX news reporter Jennifer Griffin said she was told there was a stand-down order at Benghazi, I got a weird call from the Obama administration trying to pressure me to get Jennifer to back down on her report. I thought the call from the Obama administration was dirty. Incidentally, I don’t control my colleagues and they don’t control me.”

Might as well exert pressure to bury the story, since there is no scandal or stonewalling there.

Really, Fox News doesn’t deserve anymore WH consideration than the likes of FloppingAces or Moonbattery or simular propaganda businesses.

@Ronald J. Ward:

Fox News doesn’t deserve anymore WH consideration than the likes of FloppingAces or Moonbattery or simular propaganda businesses.

Fox News, for all the whining on the left, is just as legitimate a news service as CNN, MSNBC or any other outlet. The days of the alphabet networks cornering the market and creating public opinion are over.

At least Fox has never suck into the muck by hiring someone like Al Sharpton, poverty pimp and race baiter extraordinaire.

The WH is by far the #1 propaganda business in the country.

@Ronald J. Ward: Who knows how much consideration Fox deserves? There is absolutely no other legitimate news orgainzation in the nation today to compare them to. All the rest are DNC lap dogs that promote the party line, bury damaging stories and alter information to further the liberal agenda. The rest are nothing but DNC whores.

@Ronald J. Ward: Glad to see that your abdominal porthole surgery was a success; now you can walk around without tripping over everything.

@retire05: I put MSNBC and Fox in about the same category. If you want an opinion or a twisted slant that makes your ideological preferences feel all warm and fuzzy, there you go. Fox tends to be more guilty of photo and vid editing while both are plenty guilty of taking quotes out of context. You can always count on Fox to mistakenly place a “(D)” in front of Republican’s name when they’re caught red handed in some hideous deed.

CNN tilts left but is much closer than the other 2. In reality, when you consider that today’s corporately owned GOP or republicans or conservatives or baggers or whatever in the hell that they are today are so unrepresentative of anyone other than very wealthy white males and that their agenda pretty much goes against the wishes of most Americans, I well understand that many of you Obama haters only construe reporting of such as total garbage, regardless of facts and reality.

@Ronald J. Ward: You’re biased, and you dare to criticize while spouting completely out-dated propaganda at the same time.

You’re level of indoctrination is disgusting, and dangerous.

It is right and correct to demand answers when Americans die: That goes for Bush, and it goes for Obama.

In reality, when you consider that today’s corporately owned GOP or republicans or conservatives or baggers or whatever in the hell that they are today are so unrepresentative of anyone other than very wealthy white males and that their agenda pretty much goes against the wishes of most Americans,

If you actually believe that you are one of the biggest tools I know, and one not capable of rational thought.

You are a “useful” idiot, but as you see your ideals and messiah are counterfeit, you are getting more rabid and more sinister.

I’d shut up now. You’re part of the biggest problem this nation has ever faced: programmed bigotry. You are a bigot, and don’t even know it.

The issue is the amount of hypocrisy you embrace. Why post here when you say it’s not “real” news or thought? Because it contradicts your opinion. Rather than debate, you’re trying to silence or write off these conflicting views. That’s not peace, that’s not love. That’s not democrats, nor is it right. It’s evil.

You are a name-caller and propagandist, as you’ve allowed yourself to be trained to do. Fox serves the libs and Dems more than anyone, because it’s being used as a mirror for all the injustice committed for decades by the lib/dems.

You only show off just how much you’ve swallowed the media lies. 80% or more of the media tilts left. You can’t seem to stand (or understand) that it’s not 100%.

@Ronald J. Ward:
If that were actually the case then why would the White House bother to try to squelch them?

Maybe they need you on the White House staff to brighten it up a bit.

@Ronald J. Ward:

Fox tends to be more guilty of photo and vid editing while both are plenty guilty of taking quotes out of context. You can always count on Fox to mistakenly place a “(D)” in front of Republican’s name when they’re caught red handed in some hideous deed.

Why is it that you whining leftists bitch and moan about Fox continuously yet can never provide a valid example? Fact is, Fox appears biased to the ideologue because they cover all the stories, not just the ones that make Democrats look good and Republicans look bad. Just because there is a plethora of stories that make Democrats look like bumbling idiots is not the fault of Fox.

As to CNN, recall how they went out of their way to present the Tea Party protesters (remember when protesting was “noble”?) as violent, racist thugs, though to date, not a single instance of any of that can be presented as proof.

@Nathan Blue: He is exactly the level of intelligence the left wing media and administration love to target; too dumb to know the difference, too lazy to check it out.

@Nathan Blue: I’m not going to bother Googling because as proven in the past, facts and reality are pretty much disregarded here when they don’t support your ODS agenda but your Benghazi cry is old news, well investigated, without merit, and politically motivated. It disregards (or perhaps exonerates) the 13 or 14 similar embassy and consulate attacks under the Bush admin (which I’ve argued here and listed in detail on several occasions only to receive a covering of the ears and song of “la la la” to). So in all reality of people of reasonable intellect and an iota of recent event knowledge, your argument rings hollow. Now, I know you don’t like that but it’s not within my ability to persuade you to except reality or reasonable argumentative rebuttals.

I’d shut up now.

But you didn’t and continued to only expose your abject denial of argumentative substance on any level.

@Bill:

As to CNN, recall how they went out of their way to present the Tea Party protesters (remember when protesting was “noble”?) as violent, racist thugs, though to date, not a single instance of any of that can be presented as proof.

I do recall Fox being a mouthpiece for the teabaggers and giving untold hours of free and friendly air time. That’s pretty much documented and indisputable. Another indisputable and documented argument is that teabaggers were corporately funded by America For Prosperity and Freedomswork which were mainly bankrolled by billionaires and orchestrated by corporate friendly right wing extremist. You may not like that reality but that’s just the cold hard facts, reality, the way it really happened. And while CNN may have come up short in trying to get a coherent argument from the baggers who were going around the country intentionally shouting down people’s freedom of speech at town hall meetings on health care reform (another cold hard fact and reality), they were actually quite friendly to their plutocratic sponsors.

I know you bigots and Obama haters don’t like that, that’s just the way it really is.

“Since day one of Benghazi FOX News has been aggressively investigating.”

Since day one of Benghazi, FOX News has been purposefully rolling out more speculative bullshit than any other mainstream media outlet. FOX clearly has a political agenda. It’s no more a straight news outlet than MSNBC. The difference is that FOX pretends to be and proclaims itself to be, while simultaneously utilizing a variety of propaganda techniques recognizable to any attentive and critically minded viewer.

@Greg:

What malarky. Fox consistently beats all other cable news networks in the ratings, precisely because people are sick of the leftwing agitprop fulminating from the rest of the media. If you had an iota of integrity you would admit the MSM would have an entirely different take on the issues of the day (IRS scandal, Benghazi, the VA scandal, Fast and Furious, etc) were the president a republican.

@Ronald J. Ward:

It disregards (or perhaps exonerates) the 13 or 14 similar embassy and consulate attacks under the Bush admin (which I’ve argued here and listed in detail on several occasions only to receive a covering of the ears and song of “la la la” to).

Actually, Ronald, that is simply another huge lie, one of many. In fact, myself and many others responded to your divergent topic which addressed each and every one of those embassy attacks. What makes all those different from Obama’s Benghazi is that none of those attacks (most of which resulted in NO US deaths) was followed by lies about their nature or stonewalling of investigations. So, there is your first lie I address. More to follow.

I do recall Fox being a mouthpiece for the teabaggers and giving untold hours of free and friendly air time.

First, a comment: I wonder why it is that you leftists, who promote yourselves as defenders of gay rights and gay dignity seem to think the ultimate insult of the Tea Party is to insinuate gay activity, as if YOU regard that as the ultimate, degrading, activity. Apparently, gays disgust you and, since the Tea Party disgusts you (but you have not found any actual activity to criticize), you have to project hour disgust and hatred of gays upon the Tea Party. Why do you liberals do that?

Anyway, how about you present ONE example of Fox misrepresenting what the Tea Party does or has done? In fact, if one reports on the Tea Party, one reports positive stories because they are peaceful, respectful and orderly. So, you are required to present false reporting on the Tea Party by Fox or shut up.

Another indisputable and documented argument is that teabaggers were corporately funded by America For Prosperity and Freedomswork which were mainly bankrolled by billionaires and orchestrated by corporate friendly right wing extremist.

Several things here (in addition to more of your overt hatred of gays which may reveal some sort of fear of exposure of your own tendencies). First, what does it matter if millionaires are supporting the Tea Party? You don’t have any problem with a Nazi sympathizer that helped process Jews for the gas chambers and ovens (even though he is one), makes money by destabilizing currencies and making billions off the misery of others, so what could you possibly object to over wealthy industrialists supporting a group which protests against government waste, corruption and high taxes (due to government waste and corruption)? And, what exactly is a “right wing extremist”? What do they do that causes harm? Either give solid examples or shut up.

And while CNN may have come up short in trying to get a coherent argument from the baggers who were going around the country intentionally shouting down people’s freedom of speech at town hall meetings on health care reform (another cold hard fact and reality), they were actually quite friendly to their plutocratic sponsors.

This statement generates yet another requirement for sources and examples. CNN characterized Tea Party protests as racist and violent, when in fact no racism or violence (oh, other than left wing thugs attacking them) and you mention Tea Parties shouting opposing voices down; where are your examples? You really should present examples, or shut your big, lying mouth.

I know you bigots and Obama haters don’t like that, that’s just the way it really is.

Sorry, but now you must present examples of bigotry by we that post here, or, once again, shut your lying mouth. Obama would be much better liked (thought much of the ire is directed at his policies and failures) if he would only not lie so much and stop trying to keep the economy from expanding and creating better jobs. As I have shown, your bigotry concerning gays (lots of Freudian stuff going on there) is the only bigotry that has been exposed.

In summation, basically without facts, you should really STFU. You are an ill-informed liar for hire.

@Greg: Was exposing the lie about the video speculative? Was exposing that Stevens had requested, repeatedly, additional security speculative? Was exposing that Obama went to beddie-bye that night rather than stay in the situation room to make decisions speculative? Was exposing that Obama went to a fundraiser the day after instead of sending personnel to get evidence and facts speculative? And, finally, with the testimony of 3 of the men that fought to save those killed in Benghazi stating that the CIA DID give stand down orders, was the exposure of the stand down order speculative? The sad truth (for people like you, Greg) is that the attack on the consulate in Benghazi was avoidable, preventable and, in the aftermath, was attempted to be covered up with lies, lies, lies and more lies. The video excuse was pablum for the stupid and it still seems to provide nourishment.

@Pete, #13:

Fox consistently beats all other cable news networks in the ratings, precisely because people are sick of the leftwing agitprop fulminating from the rest of the media.

FOX consistently beats all other cable news networks because they’ve lowered their journalistic standards to those of a tabloid newspaper. They’ve harnessed anger and dissatisfaction, and no small measure of populace gullibility.

@Pete:

Fox consistently beats all other cable news networks in the ratings

I recall when my then preteen-age son had an infatuation of the World Wide Wrestling whatever when the “Rock” was laying “Smackdowns” (which was something along the lines of an asskicking of epic proportions) on “Stone Cold Steve”. The TV network was enjoying record ratings.

Of course, we (well, most) adults understood that it was a rigged set up for the sole purpose of, uh, ratings. It had no reflection whatsoever of the real world of actual wrestling but rather that of either entertainment or for the purpose of generating ratings.

Now for you Cold Stone 360 lovers that want to come out and attack me on that, I’ll concede my ignorance that maybe the Rock was getting his ass kicked along with an admission that I really really don’t give a shit.

@Bill:

Actually, Ronald, that is simply another huge lie, one of many.

Bill, I’ve exposed you as a blatant liar on several occasions so it isn’t surprising that here you are again with your abject dishonesty.

Why or how is it that the “most of which resulted in NO US deaths” (Most? Whereas Obama has had like, uh one?) is acceptable under Bush?

As far as your sucking up to the teabaggers (pun intended), I’ve made my case several times here why I’m no fan of the teabaggers and what I think of them. On several occasions we’ve discussed this. Are you so amazingly stupid that you can’t recall a recent discussion or is it that the multiple sockpuppet character that you portray consumes your memory process? I suspect the latter.

@Greg:

FOX consistently beats all other cable news networks because they’ve lowered their journalistic standards to those of a tabloid newspaper. They’ve harnessed anger and dissatisfaction, and no small measure of populace gullibility.

Not only have the other news outlets (not just cable) lowered their journalistic standards to absolute zero, but their propaganda about the economy, Obamacare and national security has become so trite and detached from reality that even the gullible left is growing sick of it.

Bill, I’ve exposed you as a blatant liar on several occasions so it isn’t surprising that here you are again with your abject dishonesty.

Well, actually, Ronald, no, you haven’t. Not even once. However, you have been lying on a regular basis… and avoiding answering questions… and avoided backing up your statements with any citations… and promoting long-debunked leftist propaganda.

Again with more of your latent homosexuality (becoming more and more overt). Do you actually like smoking root or do you just dream about it to the point of projecting it upon even those who protest peacefully and in an orderly fashion, even PICKING UP THEIR OWN TRASH (compare this to the left-wing supported Occupy Wall Street thugs, where real racism, violence, drug use, destruction and crime existed… supported by Obama and Pelosi). Yes, you have made your false claims against the Tea Party many times, with no more validity than just now. So, will you be providing the substance to support your baseless claims soon or will you be shutting up?

@Bill: I find it amusing that you cowardly (and expectantly, but then what real alternative do you really have?) focus on being so butthurt (again, pun intended) over “teabagger” that you distract from the actual argument .

You and your clan are exposed frauds in every aspect. And every time you parrot each other only validates that.

I normally don’t waste my time on such mindless simplicity but you’re like a toy that every time you look at it it reaches up and tickles your ribs. It’s like playing bouncing horse with a grandchild when they come back for more. You are strictly for amusement and not to be taken serious on any level at all.

Carry on. Or, as my grandchild would say, “do it again”.

@Ronald J. Ward:

@Bill: I find it amusing that you cowardly (and expectantly, but then what real alternative do you really have?) focus on being so butthurt (again, pun intended) over “teabagger” that you distract from the actual argument

Ever notice how you are long on stupid, infantile insults (and more overt homosexuality… you should have that looked at) and absolutely lacking on substance?

Where are the instances of Tea Party shouting down opponents?

Where are the instances of Tea Party violence?

Where are the instances of Fox lying about Tea Party activities?

Where are the instances of Fox manipulating stories?

Where is your answer to the question of, while you condemn conservative money going to support worthy causes, you cheer on a Nazi sympathizer and currency manipulator that supports your own?

Keep on, Ronald. You confirm yourself as a stain on human kind and an embarrassment to anything politically to the left. And practice safe sex (AIDS, you know).
