What Media Bias? AP Changes “shotgun” into “assault rifle” to fit the narrative; changes it back when caught.

Bob Owens:

Jimmy Lee Dykes has no business having firearms. A violent Vietnam vet with PTSD who beat a neighbor’s dog to death, threatened to shoot school children, and did shoot into an occupied vehicle, that Dykes wasn’t already incarcerated is a complete failure of the mental health and criminal justice system in this nation. All that happened before he murdered a school bus drive and took a 5-year-old hostage earlier this week in an on-going standoff.

In reading up on the hostage situation today, however, I caught an edit to the established facts (my bold below).

Here’s the current Associated Press report:

Dykes was known in the neighborhood as a menacing figure who neighbors said once beat a dog to death with a lead pipe, threatened to shoot children for setting foot on his property and patrolled his yard at night with a flashlightand an assault rifle.

Here’s the earlier story:

Dykes was known around the neighborhood as a menacing figure who once beat a dog to death with a lead pipe, threatened to shoot children for setting foot on his property and patrolled his yard at night with a flashlight and a shotgun.

Yes, the Associated Press has been caught red-handed changing “shotgun” to “assault rifle” in their reporting.

    Ooops, too late. It’s now been changed again to read long gun.

    Just about as dishonest as the White House posting an article about Obama at Camp David in January, 2012 and including a photo from August 4, 2012.

    Re: “Obama shooting at clay targets” picture…if he is indeed shooting at clay targets…he’s firing mighty low.

    This is the most dishonest White House in US history. They lie and misrepresent about pretty much everythng. And the media goes along.

    @VoteOutIncumbents:

    There is no way he was shooting skeet. His shotgun, a Browning which costs almost $5,000.00, would have been lifted to fire at a clay pigeon that was in the air. Otherwise, Obama just shot the guy who was pulling the pigeon release.

    Also, notice how the shotgun is so high on Obama’s shoulder? Bet he wound up with one hellofa sore bruise, not to mention that he should have leaned into the shot to avoid being knocked on his ass because of recoil. This is a photo of a guy that has never held a gun in his life.

    One other thing: what are the odds that a photographer clicked his shutter at the exact moment that gun was fired?

    Is it photoshopped, or is it Memorex?
