USA Today shocker: Health care law may mean less hiring in 2013

Many businesses plan to bring on more part-time workers next year, trim the hours of full-time employees or curtail hiring because of the new health care law, human resource firms say.

Their actions could further dampen job growth, which already is threatened by possible federal budget cutbacks resulting from the tax increases and spending cuts known as the fiscal cliff.

“It will have a negative impact on job creation” in 2013, says Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody’s Analytics.

Under the Affordable Care Act, businesses that employ at least 50 full-time workers — or the equivalent, including part-time workers — must offer health insurance to staffers who work at least 30 hours a week. Employers that don’t provide coverage must pay a $2,000-per-worker penalty, excluding the first 30 employees.

The so-called employer mandate to offer health coverage doesn’t take effect until Jan. 1, 2014. But to determine whether employees work enough hours on average to receive benefits, employers must track their schedules for three to 12 months prior to 2014 — meaning many are restructuring payrolls now or will do so early next year.

About a quarter of businesses surveyed by consulting firm Mercer don’t offer health coverage to employees who work at least 30 hours a week. Half of them plan to make changes so fewer employees work that many hours.

The health care law will particularly affect companies with 40 to 45 workers that plan to expand and hire. Many are holding off so they don’t cross the 50-employee threshold, says Christine Ippolito, principal at Compass Workforce Solutions, a human resource consulting firm in Melville, N.Y.

Gee, who could have predicted this?

Which is EXACTLY what those of us opposed to this National Socialist scam to take over the control of our medical system would cause.

    1. Jobs will be lost…LOTS of them.
    2. People will lose affordable insurance and be forced into the government insurance slavery.
    3. There will be fewer and fewer doctors.
    4. Health care will be rationed under control of government bureaucrats with no medical expertise.
    5. There will be more and more shortages of previously widely available medications. (My list from the hospital pharmacy for this week has SEVENTY medications added that are on nationwide shortage and unavailable for our patients…and not high dollar meds either…things like simple electrolyte compounds, basic cardiac stimulating meds anesthesia meds, diuretics…all of them staple medications that are regularly used on patients of all ages).
    6. Doctors will be demonized further for not wanting to be slaves to the government. Eventually doctors will be forced to become government employees at ridiculously low salaries, further worsening the shortage of physicians.
    7. Politicians will continue to have concierge style medical care paid for by the taxpayers as they are exempted from having to live under the auspices of Obamacare.
    8. Medicine will be completely politicized (almost there now anyway) and used abusively to coerce people to behave in ways that must be approved by government.

These are the things we told all you Obamunists would happen, yet you blindly followed your Dear Leader’s lies that his National Socialist takeover of medicine would somehow magically cause all health care costs to decrease, increase the number of doctors available to see 30-40 million more patients, and improve the overall quality of health care.

Reality has this recurrent habit of shattering the immature, childish, selfish stupidity of the left. Unfortunately it is sometimes slow in arriving and those of us who knew what would happen have to suffer for the complete idiocy of the morons who refused to accept the truth.

As if any of this is a shocker except for those “low information individuals” snuggled up to obozo and his cronies. Next, the rapidly dwindling socialized health care $s will quickly result in the draconian measures now in place and expanding in the UK: Death Panels morphed into the “Liverpool Care Pathway (LCP)” as follows:

“Almost half of dying patients placed on the controversial Liverpool Care Pathway are never told that life-saving treatment has been withdrawn, …”: see: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/9716418/Half-of-those-on-Liverpool-Care-Pathway-never-told.html

“Now sick babies go on Liverpool Care Pathway”: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2240075/Now-sick-babies-death-pathway-Doctors-haunting-testimony-reveals-children-end-life-plan.html

“Hospitals bribed to put patients on pathway to death: Cash incentive for NHS trusts that meet targets on Liverpool Care Pathway. Some hospitals set target of:
    – Two thirds of all deaths should be on LCP
    – At least £30m in extra money handed to hospitals to achieve these goals
    – Critics warn financial incentives could influence the work of doctors”: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2223286/Hospitals-bribed-patients-pathway-death-Cash-incentive-NHS-trusts-meet-targets-Liverpool-Care-Pathway.html

We haven’t seen anything yet. Oh! rest assured that those Federal gummint workers (not Military), Senators, Representatives, Czars, Administrators, IRS employees of every station have been anointed “more equal than others” as they struggle along on more money, best health care, and incredible retirement plans to support a “Dacha” out on the shores of the Lake of the Ozarks, Michigan, and the many other lakes of storied fame. Never the American version of LCP for them.
