The Chicago Jesus did not make the decision to get Bin Laden after all

It’s been almost a year since President Obama’s leadership and foreign policy bona fides were allegedly established by the operation that killed Osama bin Laden. A campaign film narrated by Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks tells of the president’s alleged solitary, agonizing decision.

With apologies to Vice President Biden, maybe President Obama doesn’t carry quite as big a stick as Joe would lead us to believe.

As reported by Big Peace, Time magazine has obtained a memo written by Leon Panetta, then-director of the Central Intelligence Agency and now-Secretary of Defense, that says “operational decision-making and control” was really in the hands of William McRaven, a three-star admiral and former Navy SEAL.

“The timing, operational decision-making and control are in Adm. McRaven’s hands,” the memo says. “The approval is provided on the risk profile presented to the president. Any additional risks are to be brought back to the president for his consideration. The direction is to go in and get bin Laden and, if he is not there, to get out.”

In other words, it was McRaven’s call to pull the trigger or not on the raid.

But you can bet that had it gone wrong, Obama would have had nothing to do with it.

The last sentence in the article sums it up perfectly. I will be forwarding the article’s link to lots of people. It’s time he gets called out on stealing the thunder of the brave souls who executed the mission.

Deep down I knew Omumbles wasn’t up to the task…. and I didn’t have any proof he wasn’t …. but, yes, typical, if all goes well “it was my idea” and give me, me, me all the credit……

…and, as a true leader, who has the last word, and takes “all” responsibility…if the plan it goes to hell – throw the guy who thought of it under the bus… in this case Adm. McRaven.

Typical Barry….

It takes a lot more balls than Barry has to give a “Kill the SOB” order, he would much rather delegate that to someone that he can blame later… Mitt should make a web advert saying that not only would he have given the order himself, but given the chance, he would have pulled the trigger.

Latest Attempt To Deny Obama Credit For Bin Laden Raid Falls Flat

Conservative media figures are suggesting that a recently released memo from Leon Panetta shows that President Obama doesn’t deserve credit for ordering the raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound in Pakistan. In fact, the memo fits the previously reported timeline of the decision to raid the compound and confirms Obama’s role in making that decision.

Obama ordered the raid, overriding top military advisors who considered putting troops on the ground too dangerous and advocated a missile strike instead. He stuck his neck out about a mile, in what has been called “one of the gutsiest calls in recent presidential history.”

That’s the truth. Deal with it.

Media matters Jason? Yeah, they are sooooooo credible. Buwahahahahahaha!

Obama didn’t even have the guts to have a drone destroyed.

The way you can’t deal with any fact you don’t like is kind of pathetic. So is the way you can’t accurately size up the guy in the Oval Office. Or your own candidate, who seems to think he can flip-flop all the way to the Oval Office and no one will notice because right wing nincompoops never notice.

@Jason:

You’re going to hate my next post, Jason. You’ll hate it a lot. And all of it’s true. If Panetta said Obama took out Osama himself and you’d swallow it whole.

We already know what Obama’s default position is on any decision.
He DITHERS.
Always has.
Always will.
Heck, in the state senate, Obama voted ”present” as much as he could when he could.
In the US Senate Obama didn’t vote all that often.
When it came to decide on big things Obama could dither for 3 months, 16 hours or whatever he thought he could get away with.
Hillary Clinton (Sec of State) was so livid over Obama’s failure to act on Osama, that she began a campaign of anonymous leaks to the media indicating such.
Who else remembers them???
Soon Leon Panetta (Sec of Defense) was able to tell Obama that leaks regarding knowledge of Osama Bin Laden’s location were getting out.
Obama would look bad.
The political backlash would be HUGE!

Everybody needs to take a fresh look at the photo of that large group in the situation room.
Who is the smallest person there?
Obama.
Who looks like he’d rather be anywhere else?
Obama.
Who looks to be in charge?
NOT Obama.

That’s OK. You’re eventually going to hate the outcome of the next presidential election, whichever way it goes. At least democrats have a candidate that they genuinely respect and support.

@Jason: Only left wingers can support a lying sack of crap narcissistic liar. And that’s on a good day. Your blind and brain-dead support of Obama says a lot about you and none of it is good.

@Jason:

You are guilty of rank hypocrisy and massive projection. Plus you are not capable of facing reality or you wouldn’t be a leftist. Keep posting media matter links. It tells us how mentally ill and unintelligent you are.
