Obama: Dem candidates avoiding me ‘have supported my agenda’

Loading

President Obama delivered a blow to Democratic Senate candidates looking to distance themselves from his flagging approval ratings Monday, saying lawmakers avoiding him on the campaign trail were “strong allies and supporters” who have “supported my agenda in Congress.”

The president said that Democrats faced a “tough map” and noted that many Democrats in crucial races “are in states that I didn’t win” during a radio interview with Rev. Al Sharpton.

“And so some of the candidates there — it is difficult for them to have me in the state because the Republicans will use that to try to fan Republican turnout,” Obama said.
“The bottom line is though, these are all folks who vote with me, they have supported my agenda in Congress, they are on the right side of minimum wage, they are on the right side of fair pay, they are on the right side of rebuilding our infrastructure, they’re on the right side of early childhood education.”

Obama went on to say that his feelings weren’t hurt by Democrats reluctant to campaign with him.

“These are folks who are strong allies and supporters of me, and I tell them, I said, ‘You know what, you do what you need to do to win. I will be responsible for making sure our voters turn out.’ ”

The president’s remarks appear tailor-made for Republican attack ads in states like Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Alaska, where GOP candidates have painted their Democratic opponents as rubber stamps for the administration’s policies. Democrats in those races have worked hard to distance themselves from Obama, with polls showing his approval ratings mired in the low 40s.

It’s OK; on the Rev. Al show, you can admit that Democrats lie to hold onto power. What is that, a surprise? All Rev. Al’s listeners want is their check.

I assume the entire audience for Al’s show is about 200 people and yes they probably are looking for a check or other freebees.

While many Americans hate Obama, they support most of his agenda such as highet MW, enforcing the gun background checks, less coddling of the most wealthy, closing tax loopholes for those taking jobs overseas, gender pay equality, and even ACA.

ACA? Now if you want to claim voters dislike Obamacare, you may have a valid argument. Take here in KY, Mitch McConnell is promising to repeal Obamacare, which people hate, yet says people can keep their ACA, which they love.

That GOP propaganda machine is indeed a powerful phenomenon.

@Ronald J. Ward: You keep telling yourself that, Ronald. You might actually believe some of that crap one day.

@Bill: More voters than not approve of the policies I mentioned. That is indeed a fact. McConnell is promising Kentuckians that he’ll repeal Obamacare yet they can somehow keep ACA if they want to. That is indeed a fact. You are a babbling trolling hack as well as a cloned sockpuppet serving only to distract from the bigoted nonsense spewed by this blog. That’s just my hypothesis.

Other than your irrelevant and kibitzing diversions, what’s not to believe?

@Ronald+J.+Ward: Atta boy! Stick with it! Keep preaching failure is wonderful and you’ll certainly be satisfied.

“….supporters” who have “supported “my agenda…” in Congress.”…they have supported “my agenda” in Congress, ….

My, my, my, my, MY….I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I…

Anyone who wants to stand there and tell ‘me’ the man doesn’t have an nefarious ‘agenda’…a ‘socialist/communist/Marxist’ Agenda’ ….is well, umm LYING!! And, ‘that’ is only “part” of the Fundamental Transformation of America…. Add…Creating a Global Third World and all the third world ‘presents’ that come with it….

Seriously….is there any other ‘kind’ of ….Agenda??

I read his words and…hear his LIES and.. Ugh!!

A growing number of Dem candidates who previously supported Obama are now avoiding the rotting carcass of his legacy. Whether or not they can wash the stench out of their clothing remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, more than a few very candid and extremely unflattering books about Obama will likely be published by those who had to work under this tyrant and his accomplices.
