Kerry Accused of Promoting Hamas’ Ceasefire Demands, Prompted by Qatar and Turkey

CNS News:

The Obama administration Sunday disputed reports in Israeli and Arab media suggesting that Secretary of State John Kerry had tried to push a Gaza ceasefire plan promoted by Hamas-supporting Turkey and Qatar, at the expense of proposals put forward earlier by Egypt and backed by Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas.
In a conference call with Israeli reporters, a U.S. official speaking on condition of anonymity disputed reports that a plan, which was flatly rejected by the Israeli cabinet on Friday afternoon, amounted to a formal proposal. It was, rather, a confidential draft framework presented by Kerry for Israeli comment and input.

The official also took issue with the way Kerry had been represented in media reports. Some media quoted Israeli government officials characterizing the draft as “complete capitulation” to Hamas.

One scathing report by Barak Ravid, a prominent reporter for the left-leaning Ha’aretz – usually known for harsh criticism of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu – said the plan put forward by Kerry “might as well have been penned by [Hamas leader] Khaled Mashaal.”

“The document recognized Hamas’ position in the Gaza Strip, promised the organization billions in donation funds and demanded no dismantling of rockets, tunnels or other heavy weaponry at Hamas’ disposal,” he wrote. “The document placed Israel and Hamas on the same level, as if the first is not a primary U.S. ally and as if the second isn’t a terror group which overtook part of the Palestinian Authority in a military coup and fired thousands of rockets at Israel.”

One reading of the regional political dynamics in the post-Egyptian coup era pits pro-Muslim Brotherhood elements such as Turkey, Qatar and Hamas against those opposed to the Brotherhood, including President Abdul Fattah el-Sisi’s Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and others.

“The document placed Israel and Hamas on the same level, as if the first is not a primary U.S. ally and as if the second isn’t a terror group which overtook part of the Palestinian Authority in a military coup and fired thousands of rockets at Israel.”

People have such short memories.
When Hamas overtook the Gaza portion of the PA they falsely accused almost all PA adult male members of homosexuality.
Then they meted out punishment for homosexuality in Hamas/Gaza style:
Some they took the men up to the roof of a four story building and threw them off.
Those who survived were spit on and kicked until they expired.
Others were shot in both knees then medical attention was denied, so all of these men were rendered crippled.

I wonder at the drug use of liberals….that they can hold in their heads at the same time a love for both Hamas and homosexuals…..and not suffer continual migraines.

CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: Moral clarity in Gaza

Apologists for Hamas attribute the bloodlust to the Israeli occupation and blockade. Occupation? Does no one remember anything? It was less than 10 years ago that worldwide television showed the Israeli army pulling diehard settlers off synagogue roofs in Gaza as Israel uprooted its settlements, expelled its citizens, withdrew its military and turned every inch of Gaza over to the Palestinians. There was not a soldier, not a settler, not a single Israeli left in Gaza.

And there was no blockade. On the contrary. Israel wanted this new Palestinian state to succeed. To help the Gaza economy, Israel gave the Palestinians its 3,000 greenhouses that had produced fruit and flowers for export. It opened border crossings and encouraged commerce.

The whole idea was to establish the model for two states living peacefully and productively side by side. No one seems to remember that simultaneous with the Gaza withdrawal, Israel dismantled four smaller settlements in the northern West Bank as a clear signal of Israel’s desire to leave the West Bank too and thus achieve an amicable two-state solution.

And how did the Gaza Palestinians react to being granted by the Israelis what no previous ruler, neither Egyptian, nor British, nor Turkish, had ever given them — an independent territory? First, they demolished the greenhouses. Then they elected Hamas. Then, instead of building a state with its attendant political and economic institutions, they spent the better part of a decade turning Gaza into a massive military base, brimming with terror weapons, to make ceaseless war on Israel.

Where are the roads and rail, the industry and infrastructure of the new Palestinian state? Nowhere. Instead, they built mile upon mile of underground tunnels to hide their weapons and, when the going gets tough, their military commanders. They spent millions importing and producing rockets, launchers, mortars, small arms, even drones. They deliberately placed them in schools, hospitals, mosques and private homes to better expose their own civilians. And from which they fire rockets at Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

Why? The rockets can’t even inflict serious damage, being almost uniformly intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome anti-missile system. Even West Bank leader Mahmoud Abbas has asked: “What are you trying to achieve by sending rockets?”

It makes no sense. Unless you understand, as a Washington Post editorial explained, that the whole point is to draw Israeli counterfire.

This produces dead Palestinians for international television. Which is why Hamas perversely urges its own people not to seek safety when Israel drops leaflets warning of an imminent attack.

Whiny Hamas, who opened what they thought would be a can of worms, only to find they opened up a can of whoop-arse on themselves declares: Hamas chief: We cannot coexist with occupiers

Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal demanded Israel lift its blockade of Gaza and warned that Palestinians cannot coexist with their neighbors while their land is occupied, in an interview broadcast Sunday.

This terrorist slimeball ignores the fact that Israel would not have had to put up the arms shipment blockade or send forces into Gaza, if Hamas would simply stop it’s terrorist actions and missile launches on it’s neighbor. How’s that working out for ya Hamas? Hamas Terrorists Complain, ‘Their God Changes The Paths Of Our Rockets In Mid-Air’

While every Jew might not believe in miracles, Muslim terrorists are starting to sing a different tune:

‘[T]he Talmud Yerushalmi tells us that in no way are we to depend on miracles. It argues that we must not desist from our obligations and must not wait for miraculous intervention from the Supernatural. How perfectly relevant are both of these views today. We witness hourly miracles.’

As one of the terrorists from Gaza was reported to say when asked why they couldn’t aim their rockets more effectively: ‘We do aim them, but their God changes their path in mid-air.’ Amen! And when our God is not busy doing that, He is ensuring that the high-tech brain power of our ‘start-up nation’ is working overtime to produce yet another Iron Dome battery to help protect our cities and us.

What about the UN? For second time, rockets found at UN school in Gaza

“Today, in the course of the regular inspection of its premises, UNRWA discovered rockets hidden in a vacant school in the Gaza Strip,” the organization said in a statement issued Tuesday. “As soon as the rockets were discovered, UNRWA staff were withdrawn from the premises, and so we are unable to confirm the precise number of rockets. The school is situated between two other UNRWA schools that currently each accommodate 1,500 internally displaced persons.”

As it did the last time around when missiles were found in a school it operates, UNRWA said it “strongly and unequivocally condemns the group or groups responsible for this flagrant violation of the inviolability of its premises under international law.”

UNRWA, the UN agency charged with overseeing humanitarian efforts in Gaza, said it immediately “informed the relevant parties and is pursuing all possible measures for the removal of the objects in order to preserve the safety and security of the school.” The organization again pledged to launch a “comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident.”

Israeli officials reacted furiously to the discovery. “How many more schools will have to be abused by Hamas missile squads before the international community will intervene,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Yigal Palmor told The Times of Israel. “How many times can it turn its head the other way and pretend that it just doesn’t see?”

Yet, we have Obama’s state department taking a decidedly pro Hamas stance, including this fool: ‘My Bad’: State Sept. Official Deletes Tweet with Hashtag Backing Hamas
