From Factcheck.org in 2010:

More Malarkey About Health Care

And even now the misrepresentations continue. The new law is no longer a moving target, but some opponents persist in making false or exaggerated claims about it. Our inboxes are filled with messages asking about assertions that the new law:

Requires patients to be implanted with microchips. (No, it doesn’t.)
Cuts benefits for military families and retirees. (No. The TRICARE program isn’t affected.)
Exempts Muslims from the requirement to obtain coverage. (Not specifically. It does have a religious exemption, but that is intended for Old Order Amish.)
Allows insurance companies to continue denying coverage to children with preexisting conditions. (Insurance companies have agreed not to exploit a loophole that might have allowed this.)
Will require 16,500 armed IRS agents to enforce. (No. Criminal penalties are waived.)
Gives President Obama a Nazi-like “private army.” (No. It provides a reserve corps of doctors and other health workers for emergencies.)
“Exempts” House and Senate members. (No. Their coverage may not be as good as before, in fact.)
Covers erectile-dysfunction drugs for sex offenders. (Just as it was before the new law, those no longer in jail can buy any insurance plan they choose.)
Provides federal funding for abortions. (Not directly. But neither side in the abortion debate is happy with the law.)

Today?

Trashing Tricare

The Obama administration’s proposed defense budget calls for military families and retirees to pay sharply more for their healthcare, while leaving unionized civilian defense workers’ benefits untouched. The proposal is causing a major rift within the Pentagon, according to U.S. officials. Several congressional aides suggested the move is designed to increase the enrollment in Obamacare’s state-run insurance exchanges.

The disparity in treatment between civilian and uniformed personnel is causing a backlash within the military that could undermine recruitment and retention.

The proposed increases in health care payments by service members, which must be approved by Congress, are part of the Pentagon’s $487 billion cut in spending. It seeks to save $1.8 billion from the Tricare medical system in the fiscal 2013 budget, and $12.9 billion by 2017.

Once again, unions benefit at everyone else’s expense.

Is Obama thinking he is putting a poisoned carrot in front of the military?
Thinking he can bribe them into unionizing in exchange for cheaper medical coverage?
http://theulstermanreport.com/2012/02/27/obama-reveals-beginnings-of-unionizing-plan-for-american-military/

Tricare is a private contractor, and, rather than the Obama administration giving union members a pass, any Administration’s decision about the military people concerned can have no direct effect on the contractor and their staff—which may be union. I don’t know how many veterans will be affected by this change, but most vets are processed through the VA.

And as a private contractor, their main client is the Federal Government and the law reinforces the contract deals with the Federal Government and locks out competition bids from rival firms. Aka Federal mandated Monopoly from a single company, isn’t this the sort of Crony Captialism you leftests were bemoaning recently? Oh wait, it’s from the Democrats, so it must be ok to force Monopolies by their policies…

If O’Dumbo can do away with the contract with the military for medical care the military can cancel their contract to protect him and his family. That would open it wide open for the terrorists to do away with our major problem.

@Liberal1 (objectivity): Wrong again Lefty! Most vets and their families are not processed through the VA. Only Vets with a 30% disability or more that is service related. Don’t you get tired of being wrong?

SEBELLUS SAID , THE COST IS TOO MUCH IF THERE IS MORE BABIES BORN,
they don’t care of who will be the future AMERICANS, IS THAT THE AGENDA TO STOP THE AMERICANS PREGNANTCY,? leave the door open to haters so they can take over the future of AMERICA?

AMERICA DON’T LET THAT HAPPEN, YOU KNOW WHAT IS THE SOLUTION, NOVEMBER IS

@Randy:

First, I am a retired Soldier. To add to your rebuttal, sir, nothing about the TRICARE increases has a single thing to do with what TRICARE (and by the way, TRICARE is the program – it is administered by private insurers) does for its employees. It’s all about the rise in premium payments for military members and their families. Regardless of what the total premiums are, that doesn’t affect TRICARE’s employees. There exists contracts between the DoD and each of the insurers – what’s to change is the share of the premium that is paid for by DoD and the share paid by the individual military member. By the way, this will also add premium payments for those on TRICARE for Life (retirees above age 65) for the first time ever, if I recall correctly.

@Randy: Randy, liberal idiot is usually wrong and here again he is. I am a disabled Vet with 20% and was processed through the VA. Only the caveat is that my medical benefits are limited to treatment of the defined military disability and not for general healthcare. You can be sure that liberal 1 had no clue when it comes to the military, other than what he gets from the left wing Democrats who normally have no clue of such things.

MR PANNETTA YOU DON’T WANT TO CHANGE THE AFGHAN MISSION, YOU PUBLICLY SAID IT
DON’T YOU CARE ABOUT THE MILITARY BEING TARGETED BY A MOB IN BED WITH THE TALIBANS,
WHO THE HELL IS PROTECTING THE PROTECTORS OF AMERICA?
THEY ARE THE ONE DYING, WHY DON’T YOU GET IN THERE AND TALK TO THE MOB YOURSELF,
PATTONS WAS DOING JUST THAT

Commone Sense and White, the sad thing is you can be certain it doesn’t read responses to it’s posts. If it did it might start to question what it believes in.

@Hard Right: Sounds like our cows every Spring when we put them out on the grass. The green grass would loosen their stools! They would just spread the loose green stuff around and didn’t care where it landed.

@Randy:
LOL. That is a very accurate comparison. I think the cows are smarter tho. 😉

@Liberal1 (objectivity): Just goes to show your boundless stupidity. TriCare affects every active duty serviceman, retired serviceman and their dependents. You delusionally think we all are cared for at facilities on bases. This is farthest from the truth. The typical Military member treated at on-base medical facilities either live in the barracks or in base housing for married members. This is a miniscule portion of the Military population. Up to 80% of all married active duty Military personnel live off-base in the local community and 100% of retirees live in the community. TriCare supports most of active Military living off-base and all retirees.

Now if you had proposed that we all accept the huge increases in cost sharing along with similar increases for EVERY federal employee, quasi federal employee (ex: USPS/Federal Reserve/Fanni/Freddie/Executive branch/Congress/Judiciary/and all others on Government dole), then I would be thanking you. As a retired Marine, I am happy reduce my limited benefits at the same time as all the above. If that is not Obozo’s plan (and it is NOT), then we can only assume that this is the opening shot to unionize the Military to allow him/Demorats to take over the country by implied force. Just think how it will be when Military Union bosses drive the tanks to Congress to ensure they have a favorable negotiation for the next annual contract.

hi
Would you break your OATH, in order to obey a COMMENDER IN CHIEF GONE AWOL,
AND same order from a president which would ask you to disobey the rules of the lands THE CONSTITUTION IN ORDER TO SATISFY HIS COMMUNIST AGENDA,
OR obey an order from a UNION BOSS TELLING YOU TO ACT LIKE A THUGS AND INTIMIDATE BUSINESESS
OWNERS OR THE PUBLIC WHICH ARE BEING IMPOSE BY UNIONS LAWS?
I wonder in what kind of soul searching all the MILITARY
would be trapped in it, if this would ever be implement on you all. it did happened on the law OFFICERS, in WISCONSIN,
THEY choose to intimidate the business owner for their UNIONS SAKE
bye

Common Sense
hi
what a cheap and unintelligent way to treat the RETURNING WARRIOR, only the wound from war zone,
they are so cheap, how come the DOCTORS don’t give them a lesson of how one wound affect
directly or and indirectly the whole body, they want to cut the MILITARY so much as to stupidly come out with rules like that, and all those details are piling up to make a monstrous GOVERNMENT
failing on the care to be giving to the WOUNDED HEROS who deserve the full medical attention when they return from HELL, the GOVERNMENT should be put to shame just to think of reducing the care to VETERANS which never ask for nothing but what they ought to get from the COUNTRY who decided
to sent them to their own WAR ,

@Randy: There are 8 catagories of veterans who may be served by the VA the first 3 are disabled vets of 30% or more and the last 5 categories are vets who are not disabled. Look it up before you tell lies in a comment section.

Youvebeenduped
read again, RANDY NEVER LIE, WHICH MEAN YOU ARE LYING.
HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT

@Youvebeenduped: Actually, you are the dunce who should be standing in the corner. Liberal said that all vets are treated by the VA. My reply was they were not. It took a 30% or more disability for full treatment. Others are treated for service disabilities only. Veterans are greatly affected by changes of Tri-care. Try using a source not funded by George Soros!

@ilovebeeswarzone: Thank you Bees! I leave the telling of untruths to the left!

@Randy: You can call me dunce all you want. I am a 20% disabled Vet and I have health care with the VA where I do not have any co-pays or deductables or co-insurance because I passed the financial test to qualify for it. Here’s the information on eligibility that you are obviously unaware of. http://www.va.gov/healthbenefits/cost/financial_assessment.asp
This is a copy of your statement above and you can see you clearly stated you had to be 30% or above and you did not say (for full treatment) you can’t change your statement to make yourself right!
“Wrong again Lefty! Most vets and their families are not processed through the VA. Only Vets with a 30% disability or more that is service related. Don’t you get tired of being wrong? ”
No appologies necessary for not knowing what you are talking about, just as long as you know you were wrong is all that counts.

@Youvebeenduped: So mr know it all. Does all veterans with a 20% disability get VA treatment? No? Well, maybe there is a financial qualification. My answer was that all veterans are served by the VA. That is a wrong statement!

YouveBeenDupe
oops
sorry for my rudeness, I would never want to be rude with VETERANS,
they are my favorite BRAVES, but you came in fighting
best to you, and welcome

Randy
hi
now , admit that you where wrong, if you where wrong,
Youvebeenduped might be right,
it’s 30% and less, so you are both right

@ilovebeeswarzone: Bees, the statement by Liberal1 was that veterans were not affected by the changes in Tricare premiums because the VA took care of veterans. Only 30% or more get full care. Others get care if they can show financial need. I never intended to address all of the classes of veterans that VA services. I just addressed that Tricare premiums affected all of we veterans and stated the 30% example. The statement was “processed” through the VA. Well, any one who is a vet is “processed” through the VA, but not all are elgible for medical services. There are only a percentage that is. I expect that the major disagreement is the definition of “processed”. Based on the comments by Liberal1 and the subject of the thread, I assumed that we were discussing medical services. Being processed by the VA and being elgible for VA medical services are two different things.

Randy
I hope you know I was just teasing you both, not LBERAL1
I appreciate the extra info,
I hope they don’t make it to complicated for the VETERANS to get the help they deserve fully no picking and no cheap shot at for this and not for that, you deserve the best,
you are the able OR DISABLE GUARDIANS of AMERICA,
AND THE BEST BRAVES AND COURAGEOUS OF THIS AMERICA,
which must never forget it.
bye
