ESPN-soaked President calls James Franco “James Flacco”

When President Barack Obama addressed the nation Friday in regards to the Sony hacking scandal, he flubbed James Franco’s name.

He accidentally called “The Interview” star James Flacco, merging the actor’s first name with the Baltimore Ravens quarterback’s last name.

“I think it says something interesting about North Korea that they decided to have the state mount an all-out assault on a movie studio because of a satirical movie starring Seth Rogen and James Flacco,” Obama said. “I love Seth and I love James, but the notion that that was a threat to them, I think gives you some sense of the kind of regime that we’re talking about here.”

The NFL star took note of the slip.

“.@barackobama It’s James Franco, not James Flacco ;),” he Tweeted. “Welcome to the family, brother. @JamesFrancoTV.”

After this slip, you do have to wonder how much of an ESPN watcher he is and how much of sports follower. Hey, he could be watching Y&R and B&B instead, since its producer is serving as an US ambassador to Hungary and not the middle of the day ESPN SportsCenter.
