What happens when your entire political philosophy is so discredited that you can’t even make a coherent argument for it any longer? If you’re Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN), it’s simple — you just call your opponents who are winning the debate “racists” and accuse them of being comfortable with lynching:
A top lawmaker in the Congressional Black Caucus says tea partiers on Capitol Hill would like to see African Americans hanging from trees and accuses the movement of wishing for a return to the Jim Crow era.
Rep. Andre Carson, a Democrat from Indiana who serves as the CBC’s chief vote counter, said at a CBC event in Miami that some in Congress would “love to see us as second-class citizens” and “some of them in Congress right now of this tea party movement would love to see you and me…hanging on a tree.”
It’s not the first time the “Jim Crow” accusation has flown this year. Earlier it was the chair of the DNC, Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, who tossed out that smear, only to shamefacedly retract it when it made national news. Why? Because it was reprehensible demagoguery of the worst kind, a fact that was obvious to everyone — or at least obvious to everyone outside the CBC.

The libdems, and rhinos are scared to death of the Tea Party. They actually have an organized resistance now, after decades of doing as they please after elected. It’s a total different ballgame when you have people holding you responsible for all your campaign speeches now. Instead of vote for them, and forget about them. Its way past time too. And I am enjoying every second of it! They now realize that their gravy train could be over, and they may actually have to work for a living. Whats a lazy, and dishonest politician to do after he/she is kicked out of office?
This isn’t the only outrageous charge being leveled at the TEA Party. The other day, while walking my dog, I stopped to talk to my neighbor. I made the mistake of calling his new GMC an Obama Motors’ Car, and that sent him into a rant on the TEA Party. He actually said that the TEA Party wanted to make the country Communist. I was so flabbergasted that I was speechless. Apparently, since the TEA Party wants smaller government, and a fiscally sane government, which means addressing the SS and Medicare problems, to him it means the TEA Party wants government to take away those programs, and to him, that means Communism. This man is not stupid, yet he is falling for that kind of rhetoric on whichever sites he goes to online.
Race relations have gone south since Obama’s election, and despite liberal/progressive protests to the contrary, it hasn’t been fomented by the TEA Party.
-Obama intimated during his 2008 presidential campaign that he would unite the races and end racial discord.
-One of the highest profile actions his admin committed on race relations was to drop charges against NBPP members CONVICTED of violating election laws against white people.
-Obama interjected himself into a local police matter, and before the facts were known, accused the white policeman of “acting stupidly”.
Those and other incidents have harmed race relations, arguably, to the point that violence against whites is deemed acceptable by black youths. Today, we have roving bands of youths called “flash mobs” nearly entirely composed of black youths, who form and attack white businesses, robbing and destroying property.
Another case of “black on white crime” (although it should be noted that other races, such as asians, have been attacked as well) has come to light. From American Thinker;

The game is “played” by gangs of youths who identify a target and then see how long, or quickly, they can “knock out” the victim. This is disgusting behaviour for kids of any color, but the fact that it’s typically been black youths attacking white people is of special note, considering how Obama has treated race relations and the MSM silence on the “flash mobs”.

They would also like to get rid of the EPA and roll back environmental protections, to get rid of the Department of Education, to roll back financial industry regulation and consumer protections, to further reduce corporate and high-end taxes, to reduce unemployment protection, and to reduce or eliminate the collective bargaining rights of employee unions. They would reduce infrastructure investment at a time when the nation’s infrastructure is already falling apart, and resist any energy technologies that might threaten the stranglehold of the fossil fuel industries. They would roll back health care reform across the board rather than selectively, leaving millions of Americans once again unable to buy insurance and everyone else subject to ongoing private industry shake downs. They would deprive adult women of final control over their own reproductive function. (Which for all practical purposes they have already done in a number of states.)
It’s hard for most people to separate the new face of the Republican Party from the Tea Party at this point. Personally, I can’t tell if the GOP was taken over by extremist Tea Party factions, or if special interests behind the GOP have cleverly appropriated the identity and energy of the original Tea Party movement to use to their own ends. In any case, the blow-back against the GOP has become blow-back against the Tea Party. That has compounded a negative attitude that already existed because of the Tea Party’s extreme hostility toward democrats, toward liberals, and toward the person Barack Obama–for whom over half of the nation voted.

Correct me if I am wrong on this but I don’t think a white person can be the victim of a “hate crime”. Afterall the elite in their Ivory Towers had conducted experiments which demonstrate that only the white man/woman are capable of hating another person for the color of their skin. The elite don’t believe in reverse discrimination, they use the excuse that the white person hated minorities before he/she was turned down for a job because of anti-discrimination laws Or before he/she was refused that promotion, because of quotes imposed by our loving Federal Family.
Remember that this Carson fellow is the same guy who falsely accused members of the Tea Party of yelling racial slurs at him during Obamacare protests in DC.

All of this racism takes me back 20 years. I taught in a Black school in a Black city (I am white). The Administration of the school was black. 85% of the student body was black. The Administration set a rule: the soda machine in the faculty lounge was restricted to faculty. And the same Administration stated that there was to be no food or drink in classrooms.
So I had a student, who was black. He came to class every day with a soda. When I asked him about a) violating the no-student role and b) violating the no-food-in-class rule, he blithely informed me that both rules were racist, and so he was going to ignore both rules.
There you have it. A black student, in a black school, with a black administration, judges the rules set by the Administration to be racist.
Racism, you see, means some rule or policy with which you do not agree.
And if you don’t agree with the policy, you ignore it.
This simple definition explains how the NLRB can enact “card check” against the wishes of Congress. Congress is racist, you see, and so their wishes can be ignored. It explains how the EPA can enact carbon credits against the wishes of Congress. Again, Congress is racist. Has not Al Gore explained that opposing AGW is racist?
The same definition of racist explains why there are so many Czars needed. The Czars are required because the Federal Government is racist. And any laws deemed racist don’t have to be obeyed.
See how easy it is?
Carson is refusing to apologize and refusing to resign.
But he did ”admit” probably not ALL people in the TEA Parties want to lynch all blacks.

Well, being that he is a fairly intelligent man, I didn’t think that he would be one to repeat the falsehoods that you just presented us in your comment. What your comments show, more than anything, is a serious lack of understanding when it comes to how the TEA Party groups fall on the issues.
It is funny that you consider a group wishing to expand individual’s freedoms and liberties, like my neighbor does, as a group wishing to lead the country into communism, which is a form of government that opposes individual freedom.

The damage was already done, Nan, not only on his part, but the reaction of TP supporters. Nothing will fix the rift he is helping to grow wider and wider. As I said above, race relations, since Obama being elected, have gotten worse, and Carson is only a minor part of it.
I want to see the 2012 GOP candidate run an add where in the beginning of it, they replay Obama’s remarks on “civility”, and then follow with every last one of the liberal/progressives comments such as Waters’ and Carson’s, and even Obama’s himself. Then, at the end, ask the simple question; “Who is being civil?”

I was playing an En Vogue song, Free Your Mind (and the rest will follow) from 1992 yesterday.
One of my black neighbors said, I just loved that song.
So, I offered to create her a CD out of it and whatever else I had that she liked.
She scrolled through my list and found dozens of songs, more than one CD’s worth.
So, she got 4 CDs made.
But the thing is, that song was a great one at a time when race relations were at their best in modern times.
I think Clinton (our 1st black president) had taken office.
What Obama has done is rotten.
I consider the promise inherent in his election and the opposite direction we ended up going and lament.

That statement seems clear and unambiguous to me. Nor does it stand in isolation. There have been plenty of statements made recently by a number of prominent republican politicians openly displaying an attitude of hostility toward Social Security. How committed should we believe a person is to resolving the long-term problems of Social Security, when they’ve publicly stated that it’s unconstitutional, a monstrous lie, and a Ponzi scheme?
Who’s suggesting that nothing be done? Obama took a lot of heat recently when he stated that entitlements are on the table. Phasing in a later retirement age has been suggested. It has also been suggested that the earnings cap on FICA taxes should be removed, and that earnings from money-making occupations that aren’t classified as either self-employment or employment might be subject to FICA. The truth is that nothing has been suggested that anti-Social Security republicans approve of.
I’m more interested in substantive issues than hyperbole. What Carson said strikes me as being on par with comments frequently made by dimmer bulbs on the other side. There’s been so much of this garbage over the past few years that my threshold for paying attention to it has been raised.
