On Thursday Turkey said it will not allow the US to use its airbases to fight ISIS.
The Daily Star reported:

Turkey will refuse to allow a US-led coalition to attack jihadists in neighbouring Iraq and Syria from its air bases, nor will it take part in combat operations against militants, a government official told AFP Thursday.

” Turkey will not be involved in any armed operation but will entirely concentrate on humanitarian operations,” the official said on condition of anonymity.

A reasonable person would have asked Erdogan before making such a statement as did Obama. Then again, maybe it’s an excuse to give up.

The Lebanese Daily Star is reporting what no American media dares report.
Just like when President Bush had verbal assurances from Turkey that he could pincer Saddam via a two-front invasion (south and north) only to be told AT THE LAST MINUTE that no allied troops would be allowed to transit through Turkey, Obama is finding that same two-facedness from turkey.

Maybe Turkey is holding out for perks its leaders think Obama can deliver.
I bet all these ME countries Obama thinks will help will play that game!
After all, they well remember Obama did NOT respect his own ”Red Line,” when enforcing it might have nipped ISIS in the bud!
All Jordan and Saudi Arabia are doing is fortifying their own borders.
The Saudis are putting Israel’s separation wall to shame with their 560 mile long 5-part wall complete with night vision watchtowers, cameras and underground mines.
The so-called Arab League is only committing to non-military aid in ”fighting” ISIS.

How’s that border wall with Mexico coming along?

This is not surprising. Erdogan has his own motives, one of them to restore the Ottoman Empire with him as its leader. He also supports Hamas and Hezbollah. But since Turkey receives US support in one form or another, we should at least obtain overflight rights.

WHAT COALITION?? Bush had 37 countries with Boots on the ground. Wacho Democrats accused him of going it alone. I want to see 0-blama’s list of countries in his so called coalition!!

@Common Sense:

I want to see 0-blama’s list of countries in his so called coalition!!

Fret not. Even if it’s only five countries, the left will tell us that Obama had a coalition that was far greater than Bush’s. That’s the mentality of those we are talking about.
