Well…..George Wallace was a Democrat until….
He ran for president as an Independent and garnered more popular votes than either his Democrat or Republican rivals.
Other than that, par for the course for Politico.
Yet another clear example showing leftists have absolutely ZERO integrity.
Politico and the LEFT trying to re write history again???
That Wallace was ‘really’ a Republican??? smh.
If you actually read the Politico article it notes that Wallace was a Democrat and that Dems were the segregationists. It even tells us that it was the Republicans who voted to pass the Civil Rights act of 1967. It then goes on to allege, with no other proof than an obscure bit of research done by some people no one knows, that it was afterwards that the GOP turned racist.
It is an almost honest attempt at revisionist history, done by a writer who believes that Democrat’s war on poverty was a good thing and the GOP’s insistence upon personal responsibility is racist.
