Anti-war crowd stunningly silent on ISIS plan

Howie Carr:

I could have sworn we were going to war against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

But the president, a well-known theologian, has informed us that despite what the Muslims of ISIS say, the Islamic State “is not Islamic.” So I guess we’re in a war against SIS — the State of Iraq and Syria. But it still is a war, isn’t it, Mr. Secretary Kerry?

“I think that’s the wrong terminology,” he sniffed yesterday. “What we are engaging in is a very significant counterterrorism operation.”

Does that make it … a police action? Will we have to destroy the village in order to save it?

It’s all very confusing. When George W. Bush considered invading Iraq without a declaration of war, the Democrats wanted to try him for war crimes in The Hague. When Obama does the same thing … crickets.

Which raises another question: Where exactly is the anti-war movement?

Have you see a single “No Blood for Oil” sign in Cambridge?

To paraphrase the John Kerry of 2004: “Can I get me a candlelight vigil here?”

Whatever happened to Cindy Sheehan? Where is Code Pink? I haven’t seen an “EndLESS War” bumper sticker in years, since 2009 to be exact.

The anti-war movement is MIA as this war, er counterterrorism operation, begins. Back when Bush was waging war, dissent was the highest form of patriotism. Now it’s “racism.” If you speak truth to power in the Obama era, they call it hate speech. The IRS will audit you.

Obama’s media sycophants described his prime-time speech as “nuanced.” I’d call it ragtime.

I thought the moonbats didn’t want the U.S. “going it alone.” You hear that phrase on the networks now about as often as you hear the words “full employment.”

“What we are engaging in is a very significant counter-terrorism operation.”

It’s all about the marketing and Mass Media. The Marketing ‘strategy’. And in “identity politics” it is to whom your marketing will appeal to at the ‘moment’ much of that depends on the ‘words’ or “non-words ” ……..It is all about being the Snake Oil Salesmen…….

Counter terrorism operation does not have the word “war” in it.

You have to be better at reading between the lines , seeing the big picture and having plain old common sense. Distinguishable traits among conservatives.

My thought exactly – after just seeing the title of this post. Besides we have admin officials stating flat out that this is not a “war” — i.e. — the anti-war types are being “communicated” to by the islamo-communists.

You have to be better at reading between the lines , seeing the big picture and having plain old common sense. Distinguishable traits among conservatives.

And equally distinguishably absent among liberals. They seem to be only able to absorb or ‘understand’ carefully scripted simplified versions of actual happenings. Most of them have brains that fog over and are very resistant to any facts or opinions that do not fit their pre-conceived ‘conclusions.

The left has always been thoroughly hypocritical regarding war. Look at what the left was doing in the early phase of WW II. The left was totally against the idea of the US getting into the war, so long as Uncle Joe and Papa Adolph were buddies carving up Poland between their leftwing totalitarian states. (Yes, Nazis were leftwing – or what do you think “National Socialist German Worker’s Party” means?) But once Hitler turned on Stalin, suddenly the left in the US began shrieking for us to get into the war against germany, and viciously denounced anyone who argued against going to war.

The left is only “anti-war” when such a position weakens the US. When the left is in power and decides to engage in half-hearted, poorly planned use of military force with no clear goals (like the arrogant fool in the Oval Office is blundering now) that will either further weaken or provide little benefit to the US, the left remains quiet.

People like Kerry, Fonda, Sheehan and Medea Benjamen should have long ago been tried in court for their treasonous actions, and frankly if convicted been stripped of their US citizenship and dumped in one of the hellholes with which they collaborated. Every one of the US muslims who engaged in jihadist attacks, like the scumbag psychiatrist who murdered soldiers at Ft. Hood, should be stripped of their citizenship and executed. They want to die fighting for their satanic deity, then give them what they want.

Perhaps I have recounted this story before; if so, I apologize.

The Dallas Morning News used to publish a list of all the war dead around Christmas time. It was done in the guise of remembrance for the fallen and their families during this holiest of holy times. Of course, it also served to remind us, once again, in case anyone forgot, that the wars carried on during the Bush administration, were getting American military personnel killed.

In 2010, when I was packing away the Christmas stuff, I noticed the newspaper I was using was from Christmas of 2007. I noticed the list of the fallen. That made me think, and I got the current paper and no such list had been provided. In fact, since Obama had taken office, no lists had been provided. Come to think of it, the debate over whether photographs of the flag-draped coffins should be allowed had ceased as well. In addition, of course, as the article states, Cindy and her faux umbrage over the loss of the son she bailed on had vanished as had Code Pink. Oh, they still protest, it is pointed out. However, no one really cares any more.

So, are the lives of those brave soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice since 2008 somehow less worthy of notice now? Or is it, as it clearly seems, that the left, along with the left wing lap-dog media, merely uses tragedy for political gain? You tell me.
