Aborted babies: the new green fuel supply

Loading

The bodies of thousands of aborted and miscarried babies were incinerated as clinical waste, with some even used to heat hospitals, an investigation has found.

Ten NHS trusts have admitted burning foetal remains alongside other rubbish while two others used the bodies in ‘waste-to-energy’ plants which generate power for heat.

Last night the Department of Health issued an instant ban on the practice which health minister Dr Dan Poulter branded ‘totally unacceptable.’

At least 15,500 foetal remains were incinerated by 27 NHS trusts over the last two years alone, Channel 4’s Dispatches discovered.

The programme, which will air tonight, found that parents who lose children in early pregnancy were often treated without compassion and were not consulted about what they wanted to happen to the remains.

One of the country’s leading hospitals, Addenbrooke’s in Cambridge, incinerated 797 babies below 13 weeks gestation at their own ‘waste to energy’ plant. The mothers were told the remains had been ‘cremated.’

Another ‘waste to energy’ facility at Ipswich Hospital, operated by a private contractor, incinerated 1,101 foetal remains between 2011 and 2013.

They were brought in from another hospital before being burned, generating energy for the hospital site. Ipswich Hospital itself disposes of remains by cremation.

Planned Parenthood is already looking into this. Once you get past your conscience anything is possible.

How quintessentially progressive. The Collective must be beaming with pride at this model of socialized medicine efficiency. Waste not, want not.

This reminds me of the horrifying ending of Soylent Green.

Obviously this is the type of thing to be expected from the denial of the humanity of the early stages of the human life cycle. I suppose we should take some comfort in the fact that there is still enough of a.sense of.revulsion over this that the policy is stopped….now that it has been publicly revealed.

Are these the same people who cry over civilian causalities in a war zone – and especially a war zone with the name Bush entwined – with the approval and blessings given by Congress of course.

How about we have our own war? We will call it “A War on the defenseless little unborn humans” ?

Those who condone this are really despicable.

It’s kinda like worrying about Ukraine’s border but not being concerned with the US border.

I’m guessing the libs won’t get involved unless they find out more minority babies were burned than white babies.

“I’m guessing the libs won’t get involved unless they find out more minority babies were burned than white babies.”

Well, the report was from NHS, not the US (although, NHS does seem to be one of the poster children frequently pointed to by supporters of the ACA, but I digress…), but in terms of abortions conducted in the US, *and* as waste to energy facilities become more common through ‘green’ incentives, this would become true…but they still won’t acknowledge it as it would expose more of their cognitive dissonance.

Per the 2012 US Census (http://www.census.gov/compendia/statab/2012/tables/12s0101.pdf ), in 2007 (the most recent year given), the abortion rate for all races was 19.5 per 1000 women. The rate for white women was 13.8/1000, while for black women the rate was 48.2/1000. So the abortion rate is more than 3 times higher for black women.

And – perversely enough, given the support of Planned Parenthood by the Dems, who also claim they alone are on the side of minorities…

Planned Parenthood, the largest seller of abortions in the United States, has located 80% of its abortion clinics in minority neighborhoods, disproportionally targeting minorities for abortion.

Abortions In America

Hmmm…

I have a simple suggestion for the abortion issue. During a presidential election, we have a SEPARATE ballot where we ask if abortions should be allowed, and if so, under what circumstances? Since only women can get pregnant, only women would be allowed to vote.

@Jay:

Planned Parenthood is really Planned Non-Parenthood. The goals of Margaret Sanger lives on.
