Obama’s indifference to our troops in the field who actually put their lives on the line is typical of nearly all imperial leaders of history. However we cannot excuse this blatant callousness on the personalities of history;
Senator McCain’s chivalrous defense of Huma Abedin, intimate confidant of Hillary Clinton, is not only inappropriate, but it borders on gross negligence and incompetence. We have come to expect the release of classified information that puts our servicemen and ultimately the Republic at risk from the present administration, but it is disconcerting to hear Republicans defending possible terrorist moles with the bravado of latter-day Chamberlains, promising peace in our lifetimes.
I come from a family with a proud military history. My father was a Leatherneck in WWII, seeing heavy action in the South Pacific. He was in the invasion of Okinawa and stood awestruck one August morning when he saw that mushroom cloud over Hiroshima. My younger brother also served his country in the First Gulf War in the Navy, ultimately deciding to become a family man rather than take the PST to qualify for the Navy Seals after he was approached by his CO.
William Alexander Morgan was a Useful Idiot for Castro, and now there are those among us who wish to revere him as an American hero. The romantics and idealists will be captivated by the dashing persona of Morgan, as they continue to carry forth the tattered colors of one of Castro’s comandantes.
