As I wrote about in a earlier post, the hypocrisy of the left in regards to Obama’s policy of allowing assassinations of United States citizens is quite telling.
Take for example this speech given by our Attorney General in 2004: Continue reading →
Leftists and conservatives will all argue that they support the freedom to live their lives as they choose. Like anything else in life, the devil is in the details and when you probe further you find a fundamental difference in what is defined as freedom. Continue reading →
The Constitution.
What does it mean to you?
To me, it stands as the shield against tyranny. Where the Declaration announced the intention to engage in a truly free and open society, the Constitution extended just enough power to a federal government to protect that free and open society. Continue reading →
I was thinking of writing this up as a Most Wanted, but it deserves significant exposure. The Institute of Justice has filed an amicus brief regarding Obamacare. It questions the ability of the government to force people into contracts against their will, and if this is done for Obamacare then there would be no limit to what Obama could force anyone to do. And one cannot help but wonder if this is not part of the plan. Continue reading →
In the wake of Rush Limbaugh calling Sandra Fluke a “slut” there has been no end to furor. The Washington Post, in full piety mode:
IN A DEMOCRACY, standards of civil discourse are as important as they are indefinable. Yet wherever one draws the line, Rush Limbaugh’s vile rants against Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke crossed it.
While I don’t disagree with the Administration over this policy, I find the whole situation ironic. It was just a few years ago liberals were crying and protesting all over the fact that the United States waterboarded a few high level terrorists. Continue reading →
Couple interesting polls out to share. The first is this one from The Hill in which they asked likely voters what they believed would be a good tax rate for the rich.
Three-quarters of likely voters believe the nation’s top earners should pay lower, not higher, tax rates, according to a new poll for The Hill.
Rule of Man vs. Rule of Law – President Obama is a free man’s worst nightmare [Reader Post]
I cover this basic Constitutional information simply to contrast it with actual actions of the current occupant of the White House. Our Constitutional Professor in Chief is either ignorant of the Constitution or simply feels like it does not apply to him. Regardless of the cause, today in the United States we are very much moving towards a Rule of Man and away from the Rule of Law. Continue reading →
Senate’s Intransigence Should Prompt Repeal of the Seventeenth Amendment [Reader Post]
As of today, it has been 1,028 days since the U.S. Senate last passed a budget.
That’s about 20 dog years.
Imagine if you were employed in a business where one of your duties was to plan an annual budget for each upcoming year and you just decided you weren’t going to do it. And 1,028 days later, you still had not done it. Continue reading →
They Can’t Even Keep Their Stories Straight….Obama’s Budget Director: “ObamaCare Not A Tax”
Talk about walking head first into a trap. This video clip would be so much fun to watch over and over again if the consequences of ObamaCare weren’t so real.
So here we have Obama’s budget director telling Congress that no, ObamaCare isn’t a tax. But then we have the DOJ arguing to the Supreme Court that yes, it is a tax. Continue reading →
