Penny Wise and Pound Foolish?! [Reader Post]

Ben Franklin warned government with his clever sayings. I expect several would apply to Obama devastating the military ground forces today. We may be saving a few billion dollars now, but is may cost us 100’s of billions in the near future. Continue reading

It is That Time of The Season [Reader Post]

Soon, successful baseball clubs will be battling it out to determine what clubs make the play offs and ultimately the World Series. In the National League, Arizona, Philadelphia and Milwaukee have comfortable leads in their divisions.

Over in the American League, Detroit has a comfortable lead. As always, The New York Yankees and Boston make sure the division winner is decided on the closing days of the season. Surprisingly, in the AL West, the Texas Rangers and the LA Angles are still neck and neck. Continue reading

Public Officials Do Not Have a Private Life [Reader Post]

When I entered the military service 35 years ago, I took an oath ” to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same”. All public officials swear a similar oath when they are admitted to their elected or appointed office. When I entered public employment, I gave up many of the rights that employees in the private sector are entitled to have. Continue reading

Anthropogenic Global Warming is a Big Hoax [Reader Post]

Anthropogenic global warming is the biggest hoax since the Cardiff Giant! Anyone with any science back ground at all can see that most climate scientists are not following true scientific processes to reach their conclusions. They use the results of computer models as fact ignoring the garbage in garbage out rules of computing. Continue reading

Just Who We Need In The US Senate! [Reader Post]

It looks like the left has found someone to run for the senate in Texas. Maybe they think that a Hispanic can win in Texas because of his ethnic heritage. That would be the only way he could get elected since those who served under him in Iraq did not value his style of leadership.

As part of my doctoral dissertation, I surveyed several hundred field grade officers who served under LTG Ricardo Sanchez Here are some of the results of my study: Continue reading

To Golf or Not to Gulf [Reader Post]

I recently had a conversation with a liberal lady who voted for Obama. We were comparing the performances of Obama and Bush as it related to a soldier. I told her that when President Bush quit golfing while troops he sent to war in the Gulf were fighting for this country it meant much to me. It wasn’t the respect he showed us, it was the symbolism.

President Bush showed us that he really cared about the people he sent to war. Continue reading

Taking Back America [Reader Post]

The five of us kids grew up in rural Pennsylvania. The nearest town was nearly 10 miles away. When we were not working on the farm, we explored the woods making huts and catching the small brook trout that lived in the streams that passed through the valley. Our nearest neighbor lived a half mile away. My parents never worried about where we were as long as we were back for dinner. Continue reading

Is It Better to be Lucky? [Reader Post]

One of my first meetings with Iraqis in early 2003 was at a town hall meeting in Al Dujayl. I was a medical service corps officer. As such, I wear a caduceus on my collar. We are sometimes mistaken for doctors by non-military types.

My interpreter and I were making our way through a crowd of Iraqis outside of the meeting hall. One man was very persistent. He actually took hold of my wrist and thrust a handful of papers in my face. I didn’t want to be late for my first meeting. (At that time, I was on US time, not Iraqi time.) My interpreter carried on a fast paced conversation with the man. As he did, I looked at the papers. They were yellow legal sized with two columns of Arabic on both sides. There were 7 front and back pages. Continue reading
