Obama: “Gruber? Who’s Gruber? Hey, I just heard about this”

“Your mission, Jonathan, should you decide to accept it, is to write a health care bill that redistributes wealth, exploits stupid American voters and grossly deceives the American people. As usual, should you or any member of your Obamacare Force be caught telling the truth, President Obama will disavow any knowledge of your existence. This tape will self-destruct in five seconds. Good luck, Jonathan.”

Gruber? Gruber who?

BRISBANE, Australia — President Obama dismissed renewed criticism of his signature health care law Sunday and disputed an assertion from a former architect of the policy who claimed the administration had deceived lawmakers.

Jonathan Gruber, an economist, suggested last year that the administration’s signature health-care legislation passed in part because of the “stupidity of the American voter” and a “lack of transparency” over its funding mechanisms.

“I just heard about this,” Obama said at a new conference, after wrapping up two days of meetings with world leaders here at the G-20 Summit. “The fact that some adviser who never worked on our staff expressed his opinion that I completely disagree with — it is no reflection on the actual process that was run.”

“I just heard about this.” Obama’s pattern of denial remains intact.

He never knows squat.

double-facepalm1

OK, let’s parse this a little. Obama said Gruber “never worked on our staff.” That’s accurate but misleading. Gruber was a consultant. He is the architect of Obamacare and was paid $400,000 for it.

Obama tries the squirrel gambit:

“We had a year-long debate,” Obama said. “Go look back at your stories. One thing we can’t say is that we didn’t have a lengthy debate over health care in the United States. Every press outlet here should go back and pull up every clip and every story. It’s fair to say there is not a provision in the health care law that was not extensively debated and was not fully transparent.”

Yet we know that’s entirely false.

Obama then launches the whopper:

When the president was asked whether he had intentionally misled the public in order to get the law passed, he replied: “No. I did not.”

All you can do is LOL

“That means that no matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health-care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health-care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what.”

It’s not a tax.

You’ll save $2500 per year

It’s entirely honest to say that Obama lied about everything. He is a liar, has always been a liar, and always be a liar. This uproar is not going away. It’s only beginning. I am hopeful that it will be the spark need to set the repeal haystack ablaze.

I wonder (between Obama and Gruber) who was the teacher of lies and who was the master?
You gotta love a guy who constantly relied on CBO analysis about Obamacare while he knew he had gamed the language of the law so as to force CBO to produce those exact, but deceptive, numbers.

How can anyone even begin to allow themselves to believe a guy is competent to handle his duties when he doesn’t have a clue about anything until he reads it in the papers? Barky Oblamo has the resources of the entire CIA, NSA, DIA, NSC, et al at his disposal to clue him in. Is he saying that all these info agencies are a useless waste of taxpayer dollars? Fine. End them and their funding. I’m all for anything that takes a bite out of the Leviathan.

I bet there is a special place in hell for barry.

Defiance: Bypassing Congress on amnesty, and the rest of President Obama’s double-down response to the voters’ rejection of his policies, should shock no one. “Never let up” is one of Saul Alinsky’s “Rules For Radicals.”

This, from Investor’s Business Daily, who our resident Obama sycophant, Greg, loves to quote.

The rest of the article takes the lame stream media to task for their totally different treatment of George Bush after the 2006 elections.

Only those totally drunk on the Obama Kool-Aid can ever possibly accept what comes out of Obama’s mouth as anything near the truth. How incompetent IS Obama if he never learns anything until he reads it in the newspaper? Are we to believe that his staff is so inept that they don’t keep him informed of what is going on around him?

Obama’s statements make him look like an uninformed, clueless figure head that is not in control of his own office. Since Valerie Jarrett is the first person to talk to Obama in the mornings, and the last person to talk to him at night, she should be fired for not keeping him informed on what is happening in his presidency.

@Disenchanted:

Not just Obama, and not just Gruber, but EVERY LYING BASTARD who voted for this – all democrats in congress for the vote. Anyone who read even part of the obamacare wording knew it was not designed to work, but was a trojan horse to establish the socialist takeover of medical care in this country via the slow-boiling frog method. Anyone who paid attention to the political chicanery of the manner Reid and Pelosi crammed this down our throats, as well as the complete deception of Obama insisting obamacare was not a tax…until he had his lawyers argue in court that obamacare was constitutional as a tax and Roberts bent over for Obama and gave them that horrible, twisted ruling… This is what happens when people make the false assumption that politicians care about their constituents, especially leftists and RINOs.

NOTHING that is based exclusively on lies upon more lies can ever produce a shred of goodness. If obamacare is not repealed in toto, we will have no one to blame but ourselves for not forcing our politicians to repeal. If it stays in place – hope you enjoy long waits to see undertrained “providers” who will ignore you while they spend all their time typing your answers to the socialist-mandated surveys about how many guns you own and how many servings of vegetables you eat every day.

Obamacare is inherently evil and must be destroyed.

Actually in one case, Obama did not lie. As a candidate in 2008 Obama said:

“Under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket,” Obama told the Chronicle . “Coal-powered plants, you know, natural gas, you name it, whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers.”

“So, if somebody wants to build a coal plant, they can — it’s just that it will bankrupt them, because they are going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.”

Later one of Obama’s key environmental advisers, Professor Daniel Schrag, said the following during an interview with the New York Times…

“Politically, the White House is hesitant to say they’re having a war on coal. On the other hand, a war on coal is exactly what’s needed.”

Left unsaid is Obama’s actual goal of reducing the USA to third word status and vassal of the UN. This is the goal of all good Marxists.

Notice the actual goal of Marx was a return to a two class feudal system with no annoying middle class challenging their betters: (This is why Al Gore is given a free pass. The target is not the rich but the middle class challenging the rich.)

The bourgeoisie, wherever it has got the upper hand, has put an end to all feudal, patriarchal, idyllic relations. It has pitilessly torn asunder the motley feudal ties that bound man to his ‘natural superiors,’ and has left remaining no other nexus between man and man than naked self-interest, callous ‘cash payment.’ ― It has drowned the most heavenly ecstasies of religious fervour, of chivalrous enthusiasm, of philistine sentimentalism, in the icy water of egotistical calculation. It has resolved personal worth into exchange value, and in place of the numberless indefeasible chartered freedoms, has set up that single, unconscionable freedom — Free Trade. In one word, for exploitation, veiled by religious and political illusions, it has substituted naked, shameless, direct, brutal exploitation.

The bourgeoisie has stripped of its halo every occupation hitherto honoured and looked up to with reverent awe. It has converted the physician, the lawyer, the priest, the poet, the man of science, into its paid wage labourers.

The bourgeoisie has torn away from the family its sentimental veil, and has reduced the family relation to a mere money relation. Karl Marx, The Communist Manifesto

OH, and just in case you wondered Karl Marx was financed by Banker Benjamin Philips. Philips later bankrolled his sons’ business venture, Philips Electric…. Now what was that about the hated bourgeoisie? (Middle Class)

Socialist Maurice Strong also attacks the Middle Class in his opening remarks at the Rio Conference (Earth Summit II) in 1992. He states that industrialized countries have:

“developed and benefited from the unsustainable patterns of production and consumption which have produced our present dilemma. It is clear that current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class — involving high meat intake, consumption of large amounts of frozen and convenience foods, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and work-place air-conditioning, and suburban housing — are not sustainable. A shift is necessary toward lifestyles less geared to environmentally damaging consumption patterns.”

Another Socialist, Pascal Lamy, two time Director-General of the World Trade Organization and EU big wig also stated the same goal:

Can we balance the need for a sustainable planet with the need to provide billions with decent living standards? Can we do that without questioning radically the Western way of life?

The reality is that, so far, we have largely failed to articulate a clear and compelling vision of why a new global order matters — and where the world should be headed. Half a century ago, those who designed the post-war system — the United Nations, the Bretton Woods system, the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) — were deeply influenced by the shared lessons of history.

All had lived through the chaos of the 1930s — when turning inwards led to economic depression, nationalism and war. All, including the defeated powers, agreed that the road to peace lay with building a new international order — and an approach to international relations that questioned the Westphalian, sacrosanct principle of sovereignty

(The Bretton Woods system aka the World Bank and IMF was designed by a Communist/ KGB agent in the US treasury, Harry Dexter White and by a Fabian Socialist John Maynard Keynes.)

If you can not OWN property you ARE property and the elite want to OWN us. This is why the UN and the EPA target property rights.

Socialism, Communism, the Third Way of Clinton and the Fabian founded London School of Economics are all candy coatings to may us swallow a return to serfdom with a smiling face. (The elite fear another French Revolution and this is their solution.)

@Virginia Conservative:

“I just heard about this,” Obama said at a new conference,

It was on the News, I just found out…..get me a newspaper so I can find out more about it…….

If only the Gruber videos had come out in October… (Sigh)

@Ditto: No doubt, as many of these videos as have surfaced, the corrupt, left wing MSM had this already. Again, they have (if I am right) kept important information away from the American voter so that Gruber’s assessment of the intelligence of the voter can be maintained.

If Obama would watch more Fox News instead of his cheerleaders, he would not reveal his stupidity on world television. But, then again, Obama doesn’t have to worry about how stupid he looks; his ever compliant MSM will keep THAT a secret, as best they can, as well.

However, based on what Obama and Pelosi said about Gruber, I got to wondering; where is MY $400,000 check for not being a consultant on Obamacare?

Just keep telling bigger lies and repeat them often, the progs will buy it. The MSM will buy it and Gwyneth Kate Paltrow will definitely buy it .

Nah, Obama doesn’t know who Gruber is, although Gruber met with him more than once and this is still on the White House web site:

Lowering Premiums For American Individuals and Families

•MIT economist Jonathan Gruber has a new report out showing that reform will lower premiums for Americans purchasing insurance on their own.
•Analyzing the non-partisan information from the CBO, Gruber reports that under the House version of health insurance reform legislation, a typical individual could save anywhere from nearly $500 to more than $3,000 and a typical family could save between $1,260 and more than $9,000.
•Those savings, he notes, come in addition to the more generous benefits consumers would receive by purchasing insurance through the newly created exchange.
•And it’s also in addition to increased protections – like banning insurance companies from discriminating based on pre-existing conditions or dropping or watering down coverage when you get sick and need it most.
•”Not only does the House proposal lower premiums, it does so while also improving coverage,” Gruber writes.
Helping Small Businesses

•Yesterday, Gruber also testified before the Senate HELP Committee that small businesses are disproportionately hurt by the health care status quo and that health insurance reform will lower premiums and save jobs in the small business sector.
◦“Small business has little to fear, and much to gain, from health reform,” Gruber concluded.

•Gruber testified that health insurance reform would break down many of the barriers currently facing small businesses – like unpredictable premiums jumps, fear of starting new businesses for lack of affordable insurance options, and higher costs and limited choices due to administrative expenses and lack of bargaining power.
◦He also cited the tax credits that would help small businesses who need it most pay for insurance.

•Based on those factors, he unveiled a new analysis showing that health insurance reform will save small businesses 25% – or $65 billion per year – over the next decade.
•The consequences of those savings, he says, would be enormous.
◦Workers in small businesses will see an increase in their take-home pay of almost $30 billion/year.
◦And that reform would save about 80,000 jobs in the small business sector by 2019.

•Gruber also knocked down the myth that health insurance reform will raise costs for small businesses. “Objective CBO analysis,” he pointed out, “shows that these claims are clearly wrong – reform will lower, not increase, non-group insurance costs.”

http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2009/11/04/word-white-house-objective-analysis-shows-reform-will-help-small-businesses-lower-pr

Got that? Someone who actually worked for the Administration was providing “objective analysis.” Can you say “THE MOST DISHONEST ADMINISTRATION, EVAH!”

@Buffalobob: Obama read all about it in the newspapers, it must be true..

@retire05: Do you know that the liberals don’t know about all this. They watch their news on the alphabet networks and they won’t tell them the truth.

What he is saying is true, but his explanation is not very good. What is happening is that there are people out there who truly need help and better care, but the cost is too high for them to be able to afford care for themselves, so an umbrella healthcare system that puts everyone on equal footing, regardless of financial means or not, everyone pays in to the pool and those who need the help get it. Everyone says that they want to end world hunger, end poverty, end people dying from cancer and things of the same nature. The only way that is ever going to happen is through umbrella initiatives that provide services on a broad basis, and those who can afford to pay do, and those who can’t afford it have it provided to them at lower costs. It’s not pretty but that is the way the game is played, the government is for all people not just the rich and yet the rich have lobbyists to fight for them but who fights for the poor, well for the first time in history the government is truly trying to fight for all people, and make things better for everyone, but just like in every other aspect of society the rich are fighting back, and instead of understanding it’s for the average American’s well being, they are trying to sway everyone to go against these umbrella policies, instead of supporting them with the knowledge that it is to protect American’s from policies that favor the rich and would undermine the securities of the underprivileged

“There’s Lies, Damned Lies, and Obama Quotes.”

@Redteam:

: Do you know that the liberals don’t know about all this. They watch their news on the alphabet networks and they won’t tell them the truth.

Yeah, I know. The libs were wetting themselves over another redistribution of wealth program so they could go to their base and say “Lookie, lookie, we got you more free stuff” and they didn’t bother to read the damn bill. As John Conyers said ” Read the bill? Why would I read the bill?”

Democrats had been apoplectic over the fact that in many cases employees got tax free health insurance benefits (in-kind payments to the employee) that they wanted to abolish that tax loop hole. Gruber, and John Kerry, found a way to do that; tax the insurer. But they never thought about what it would do when the insurer tacked the tax onto the cost of the insurance, making it almost impossible for any company, large or small, to afford to continue to provide free/low cost health insurance to their employees.

The CWA thought it would be exempt due to decades of negotiations with AT & T. That is because people not smart enough to run their own companies thought they were smart enough to run the companies of others. But the Cadillac tax hit AT & T because insurance companies are building that tax in now. So retirees got hit first. And hardest. AT & T, being smarter than union big wigs, negotiated for a certain cost of health insurance ($10,600/per year per employee in 2010, more than that for an employee with dependents on the insurance plan) but the Cadillac tax increases those costs by 40%.

Now the union is blaming AT & T although the CWA pushed Obamacare for a year in every news letter. The end result? CWA is losing membership by the droves in right-to-work states. Telephone workers are not stupid, and they know they got sold out by their union in the CWA’s quest to back the Light Worker.

One exemption; the Teamsters. The Teamsters union, not the companies, self fund health insurance to their membership. Of course, the Democrats built in a Cadillac tax exception for the self funded union health insurance with unions like the Teamsters. The CWA management was too stupid to realize that exemption did not apply to AT & T workers/retirees.

People like Greggie whine how the Republicans are killing private sector unions. Seems to me it is more a case of suicide. Now the CWA is using MoveOn.org to petition for the return of retiree health insurance plans from AT & T. No surprise. In 2011, the CPUSA held their annual awards dinner at the CWA union hall in St. Louis, and CPUSA meetings were held at the CWA union hall in Austin, Texas.

@retire05: So what the union wasn’t counting on was that Gruber didn’t have their interests at heart. He was working for Obama’s image.

I would not give Gruber, Obama, nor any other bastard leftist the benefit of the doubt by saying “they weren’t smart enough to realize the Cadillac Tax would hurt employer provided insurance” – especially with the Gruber video showing him commenting on exactly the effect of wiping out employer-provided insurance and forcing everyone onto their evil obamacare exchanges. This was done PURPOSEFULLY to destroy health insurance to pave the way for their ultimate goal of nazi socialist health care.

This plan does more – it is cheaper for a company to drop insurance coverage but give the employees a “raise” to pay their worthless obamacare premiums. Stupid LIVs will do the happy dance about getting raises….until they find out at tax time that this is now taxable income that increases their tax debt. Prior to the evil obamacare scam, employer-provided health insurance was not taxable income. With the damnable deceit of these corrupt and despicable democrats, not only do your health care costs go up massively, but you get to pay extra taxes on your “increased” income.

Point this out to every idiot who still thinks obamacare is anything other than another evil leftist attempt to enslave the population.

@Lester: Lester, the CBO has estimated that after 10 years and the taxpayer expenditure of $1 trillion, there will STILL be 30 million uninsured. This plan has nothing at all to do with helping anyone but socialists get control of the economy and, then, the people.

@Lester:

This plan isn’t about fighting for the poor. It’s about control. The poor are used as votes for the political class to get re-elected. Give the poor a few crumbs, make them dependent and you have a built in voter base. Which equals political power for the few. It’s an old game. Take off those rose colored glasses and see the light. Both major political parties have their special interests.

Video of Obama claiming he stole some of his ideas from Gruber…..years before he ”just heard of him through the media.”
http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2014/11/17/caught-on-tape-obama-admits-to-stealing-ideas-from-jonathan-gruber/

@Redteam:

So what the union wasn’t counting on was that Gruber didn’t have their interests at heart. He was working for Obama’s image.

Beyond the comprehension of the low information voter, the left has always viewed employer based health insurance as the great untaxed wealth. i.e. AT & T provided a benefit that had a value of at least $10,600/year, more if the employee had covered dependents. Those workers will now have to buy health insurance, and if the company gives them a $10,600.00 raise in pay to cover the cost, that new raise, as Pete pointed out, will now be taxed. And the IRS medical deduction will not offset the increase in salary.

Union workers have been programmed to believe Democrats have their interest at heart. The ACA is just one example of how that is not true. But when you have active members of the CPUSA as union administrators, what do you expect?

AT & T has sent out notices to retirees that they are going to have “health savings accounts” to help off-set the cost of their insurance. I would imagine that too, will be taxable as income.

@retire05: and they knew all of this would work because they were dealing with the ” low information voter”

Even the most loyal democrat voter has to start wondering about their president when he keeps saying, “I just heard about this”, or “I learned this from the news.”

I don’t belong to any party, but if I had a person in office I really wanted, hearing them say stuff like this over and over would make me wonder about his cabinet and advisors. Why is MY president always the last to know? Even major events going on in the USA and the world, and MY president doesn’t hear about them except from the news, or just hears about them several days after they happen? It would be time for a replacement.

we did not get to vote at all on the health care bill PELOSI SAID WE HAVE TO PASS THE BILL SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT IN IT SHE NEED TO GO TO JAIL ALL OF THEM DO
