Missouri’s incompetent Governor

Loading

Meet Jay Nixon.

Jay-Nixon

File him under “feckless.”

Jay Nixon is the Governor of Missouri. He’s a moron. Here’s why. Nixon declared himself “thunderstruck” by images of the Ferguson police department.

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon said today he was astounded by some of the images that came out of Ferguson depicting what he described as an “over-militarization” of the police force.

“I, all of us were thunderstruck by the pictures we saw,” Nixon told Martha Raddatz in an interview in Ferguson. “I mean, the over-militarization, the MRAPs rolling in, the guns pointed at kids in the street. All of that I think instead of ratcheting down brought emotion up.”

Now if I gave you one guess who helped Ferguson get all that “over-militarization” who would your guess be?

Yep.

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon, who yesterday said he was “thunderstruck” to learn how militarized police in Ferguson had become, signed off as recently as January on statewide participation in a Pentagon program providing local police departments with surplus equipment.

In authorizing Ferguson police and other local law enforcement agencies to apply for firearms and other equipment, Nixon also directed his administration to “conduct management and oversight of the program,” documents show.

Governor Nixon was unhappy about all that militarization he arranged, so he called the Ferguson police off and sent in the Missouri State Troopers who would appear far less threatening and less military and stuff.

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon announced Thursday a change in the handling of law enforcement as tensions have escalated in Ferguson, Missouri, saying the town has lately “looked a little bit more like a war zone.”

“This is a place where people work, go to school, raise their families, and go to church. A diverse community. A Missouri community. But lately it’s looked a little bit more like a war zone and that’s unacceptable,” Nixon said at a press conference.

And don’t you know, that didn’t work either, so Nixon ordered in the National Guard:

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon ordered the state National Guard to restore peace in a town rocked by protests over the killing of an unarmed black teenager by a white police officer. A preliminary autopsy made public by lawyers for the family shows he was struck at least six times.

Nixon’s decision came after organized groups attacked police officers with firearms and gasoline bombs last night, leading police to fire a barrage of tear gas into the streets.

“Given these deliberate, coordinated and intensifying violent attacks on lives and property in Ferguson, I am directing the highly capable men and women of the Missouri National Guard to assist Colonel Ron Replogle and the Unified Command in restoring peace and order to this community,” Nixon, a 58-year-old Democrat, said in a statement.

The Missouri National Guard looks, well, kind of military:

Nixon went full circle on that one for nothing more than optics.

Then Nixon passed the event horizon and got sucked into the black hole of stupidity. Without the benefit of facts or evidence or a fair trial or due process he let it be known that he would insist upon a “vigorous prosecution” of Officer Darren Wilson.

Innocence notwithstanding.

You voted this cretin into office, Missouri. Best of luck.

With Nixon’s complete lack of grasp of the obvious, maybe he should run for President.

The state of Missouri got the government they deserve.

This guy is as detached from reality as are the rioters. Nothing but a race baiting, public assistance vote buying, political propagandist that lives in the stately Missouri Governor’s mansion (most likely with an armed 24/7 security detail).

The only good thing in all of this is that he’s aiding and abetting the end of his type (i.e. white back-stabbing traitors who sell their souls for the support of “vote early, vote often” public assistance funded Democrats.

“This is a place where people work, go to school, raise their families, and go to church. A diverse community. A Missouri community. But lately it’s looked a little bit more like a war zone and that’s unacceptable,”

Lately?

Sorry Mr. Fairytale, but large sections of Ferguson have looked like a ghetto/war zone for decades. But then again, what can the likes of you see from the balcony of that mansion you live in?

And btw Mr. Fairytale, living off of public assistance and/or rioting does not qualify as “work”.

“This is a place where people work, go to school, raise their families, and go to church. A diverse community. A Missouri community. But lately it’s looked a little bit more like a war zone and that’s unacceptable,” Nixon said at a press conference.

Actually, it’s a place where a gigantic thug robs a store, beats a cop, gets shot and the community overreacts based on lies and exaggeration. And you helped, Gov.

Gee….it almost seems like one of the mandatory traits for being a democrat elected official is to spout effluviant trigger words/phrases of politically correct “feelgoodisms” balanced by a large measure of foolhardy incompetence, seasoned with an insatiable desire to continually raise taxes on producers, topped off with the deceptive garnish of “blame right wingers for not supporting my impractical and incompetent plans”

Gov. Nixon illustrates perfectly that he has risen to the level of his incompetence.
“When in charge, delegate. When in doubt, mumble. When in trouble, ponder.”
He’s almost as bad as the dummy who is (occasionally) at 1600 PA Ave.
What a clueless twit.
What?
This is Missouri’s best?
Come on!

Gov. Nixon ”walked back” his ”vigorous prosecution,” remark yesterday.
Yet another OOPS!

A spokesman for Nixon says the comment was misinterpreted [was taken as FACE VALUE] and the governor isn’t calling for police officer Darren Wilson to be prosecuted [he was but he never meant to be called on it] for killing the unarmed teen.

“The governor’s comments yesterday were not intended to indicate prejudgment in this matter,” said Nixon press secretary Scott Holste in an emailed statement.

Rather, he says, “The governor used the term ‘prosecution’ to refer to all duties and responsibilities of the prosecuting attorney, including the exercise of prosecutorial discretion; whether and what evidence to present to the grand jury; the filing of criminal charges if supported by the evidence; representing the state if charges are brought; and ultimately ensuring that justice is served.”

Whoa!
When we have elected black officials from MO who worry about a man’s ”brain clog” so that he must ”rechoose himself,” did the Gov REALLY think he could use a nuanced definition of ”vigorous prosecution?”
I doubt it.
More likely he was trying to appease the mob……
The Brown family (other last names all over the place) NEEDS an arrest and charge in order to SUE in Civil Court.
The Gov. was promising them that.
Now, who pays?
The officer?
Ferguson?
MO?

Ten to one says this politician would give the “shoot to kill” order if these thugs were threatening his family, his property, or the Governor’s mansion.

His comments were purely selfish and purely political. Evidence is now being seen that this kid was not the angel the ‘eye witnesses’ said. The cop is going to be tried for doing his job (hopefully not). Every cop needs to quit.

@Pete:

Bingo!

What was the “Unified Command” the Gov assigned the Guard to assist?

I was trying to recall where I had read about gov. Nixon before.
Remember when Obama was first in office as president?
Fellow Dem Nixon was one of the Dem govs who put out reports about potential white terrorists.
His report very specifically noted white Christians, supporters of third-party presidential candidates (Ron Paul, Bob Barr, and Chuck Baldwin) as well as opponents of gun control, illegal immigration, abortion, the Federal Reserve System, and the Internal Revenue Service.
Later Nixon claimed the report was ”overzealous,” and has dropped it off of all official Missouri web sites.
Obama used reports like this to dog whistle his loyal gov’t employees into things like the IRS scandal.

@enchanted:

Uh, well, the cop isn’t going to be tried unless he’s, like, indicted.

Dumbass!

Also, evidence or lack of a person’s character is generally not related to an eye witness testimony of what transpired in the event in question, making whatever gibberish you’re poorly trying to articulate even more profoundly stupid and obviously bigoted.

Utah protesters demand justice for Dillon Taylor, others killed by police

Protesters lined the sidewalk across the street from Salt Lake City police headquarters Monday afternoon to express their outrage at a spate of recent police shootings of unarmed people.

Among the demonstrators were friends of Dillon Taylor, the 20-year-old man who was shot dead by Salt Lake City police outside a 7-Eleven last Monday. Police were responding to a report of a man with a gun, but Taylor’s supporters say he was unarmed.

(Snip)

The South Salt Lake police department is investigating the shooting but has not said whether a weapon was found or why Taylor was deemed threatening enough for police to fire at least twice.

Police have said it may be several weeks before investigators release their findings to prosecutors. In the meantime, Taylor’s supporters are demanding answers.

“Why can’t we have these answers to put the family at peace?” Swanenberg asked.

“It’s been too long,” echoed Martinez. “I want to know what they’re hiding. Why is it that they can’t tell us the truth?”

In addition to demanding justice for Taylor, protesters waved signs remembering others slain by police — including Danielle Willard, whose November 2012 shooting resulted in a manslaughter charge being filed in June against former West Valley Police Detective Shaun Cowley.

Not mentioned in the news reports, Taylor is white, the officer who shot Taylor is black. No word from Holder or Obama on this one.

@Ronald J. Ward:

Uh, well, the cop isn’t going to be tried unless he’s, like, indicted.

Let’s put you on record here, Ronald, and tell us how likely you think it is that Wilson will NOT be indicted?

In your opinion, do you think the calming effect Holder’s visit to Ferguson had was the result of an impression the “justice will be done” regardless of the outcome or the perception of a guarantee of an indictment of Wilson?

In your opinion, if Wilson is NOT indicted, will there be more violence in Ferguson?

What do you think she means when Missouri state Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal promises more violence if Wilson is not charged?

Wouldn’t want to be accused of putting words in your mouth, Ronald. So, you provide them and we’ll see how things turn out.

@Bill:

Wouldn’t want to be accused of putting words in your mouth, Ronald. So, you provide them and we’ll see how things turn out.

That made me chuckle. I think it was Yogi Berra that said: “predictions are hard to make, especially about the future”.

@Ronald J. Ward: I didn’t ask for predictions, I asked for your opinions. You are quick to pounce on the views of others, yet you don’t present anything of your own. If you are so critical of what is being done in Ferguson, what do YOU think should be done?

This prediction is not difficult to make, because it has already been made; unless the racist radical left gets their white guy conviction, regardless of what the evidence shows, there WILL be more violence. This is a self-fulfilling prophecy, as it has been promised. This is a terrorist threat. We should not negotiate (particularly using the rule of law) with terrorists.

@Ditto: Have you been keeping up on the case of Dillon Taylor?
I live in SLC so I have.
He tweeted this just days before he was killed:

S### getting heated everywhere.
I feel my time is coming soon.
…..
I’ll die before I go do a lot of time in a cell.
….
I’m done.
I litterally can’t stand breathing.

This from a different tweet, two days later:

I hit rock bottom.
I walk through the valley of death.
It’s my time soon.

The officer had a body cam on.
I hear we will be seeing it in a few more days.

“You will see on camera … the actions of everyone involved, including up to the point where our officer utilizes deadly force and his response thereafter,” Salt Lake City Police Chief Chris Burbank told reporters during a question-and-answer session Tuesday at police headquarters.
