According to the latest Quinnipiac poll, Barack Obama is rated as the worst president since WWII. That’s no surprise to anyone actually paying attention to the last five years of failure. What’s interesting however is how 40% of the American population can still approve of the way he’s doing his job. Demographics may play a part in that. Americans are no different than people everywhere else. When we don’t have a great deal of information about something or someone we grasp for those things that are familiar to us, that are like us. It’s like when you go to a party where you don’t know anyone. If you see someone you know, even if you don’t like them much you’re likely go over and talk to them, at least until you see someone you actually like or would rather talk to. That’s because at least you will have something to talk about rather than just standing around feeling awkward.
And in the United States there are a lot of voters who don’t have a great deal of information. Indeed, only 65% of native born Americans can get a pitiful 6 out of 10 answers right on the citizenship test – vs. 93% of immigrants preparing to take the test. And those are basic facts that everyone learned in school rather than positions on sometimes difficult issues.
The bottom line is that many, perhaps a majority of American voters know practically nothing about what candidates actually stand for and what policies they support. As a result, many voters simply support candidates who are like themselves or have perceived shared experiences… In 2008 one might understand why Barack Obama carried 95% of the black vote, despite the fact that most voters – regardless of race – didn’t really know his positions. It was a historical event with a black man running for president on a major ticket in a country that started out with slavery legal in half of its states. It’s understandable. One has to wonder however, how four years later, he could still garner 93% of the black vote, and today with a plethora of further failures his approval rating still stands at 83% among black Americans.
One wonders how that figure can stand when Barack Obama has done so much to harm black families.
He supports an increase in the minimum wage, which results in far fewer jobs for the unskilled, particularly youth. This hits black youth particularly hard, and the problem is worse today than when Obama took office. In 2009 the general unemployment rate in the US was 8% while for black youth it was 3.9 times higher at 31%. Fast forward after five years of Barack Obama and while the overall unemployment rate had dropped to 6.6% by February of 2014, for black youth it had actually grown to 38%, 5.9 times the rate of the general public.
With Obamacare Barack Obama has forced businesses, particularly small businesses, to limit the number of hours employees work so that they do not hit the full time threshold which would force those businesses to provide benefits that they often cannot afford. The result is fewer full time jobs for everyone, and those who need full time employment to support their families are forced to seek multiple part time jobs in order to make ends meet. The most recent jobs report demonstrates this with perfect clarity. The Obama administration crows at the fact that 288,000 net jobs were created in May, but what they don’t tell you is that 275,000 of them were part time jobs. And who is it that get that gets hurt by those far fewer full time jobs? Those with the highest unemployment rate, which happens to be blacks, with an unemployment rate of 10.7%, more than twice the 5.3% of white Americans.
The final item of curiosity is immigration, particularly illegal immigration. Barack Obama has opened the floodgates on our southern border, in essence inviting hundreds of thousands if not millions of people to wade across the Rio Grande – or send their children or babies across with coyotes – in hopes of getting a foothold in the United States so that they can gain amnesty and eventually bring their entire families to the United States. That’s a bad thing for all Americans, but a very bad thing for black Americans. Why? Because those immigrants will be competing for and taking the jobs that many black Americans might otherwise be getting. Since 2000 there have been 5.7 million net jobs created in the United States. And how many of those jobs went to immigrants – both legal and illegal? Surprise: 5.7 million! That means that literally every single net job that has been created in the last 14 years has gone to immigrants, the majority of them illegal. And who are these new and largely uneducated immigrants going to compete with for jobs? Is it the 1% who have flourished and grown richer under Barack Obama. Probably not. It’s going to be entry level and lower income workers, a group disproportionately populated by black Americans.
So the real question is, not why 33% of whites still approve of Barack Obama’s job performance or 47% of Hispanics… in a country where apparently 45% of the population still believe in ghosts you have to expect that some people are immune to reason. No, rather it’s why 83% of black Americans still support a politician who is not only demonstrably incompetent, but one who seems to be doing so much to damage to black families. Jobs are at the core of success in America… not government programs, not government handouts, not government anything. It’s a job that gives most Americans their self respect, sense of accomplishment, and most importantly the connection to a society where they can work hard and succeed, in this job or that better job or by creating a job for themselves and start hiring others. And to the degree that Barack Obama has had any impact on jobs in the United States it has been a negative one, particularly for black Americans. Maybe it’s time to recognize that Barack Obama is bad for all Americans, regardless of his race or that of anyone else, and that maybe politicians should be evaluated on their policies rather than their pigmentation.

Blacks admit they vote primarily by race if one of the candidates is black. Look at the losers in the Congressional Black Caucus or the mayors of black cities. Incompetence, stupidity, and outright criminal conduct are no bar so long as the skin color is black.
It’s not just race. It’s tribal, the oldest and most destructive of all ways to form governments. The blacks for the most part have gone tribal, and democrats are doing everything humanly possible to carve everyone else up into their own self-contained, insular, and defensive tribal groups. There is another calculation at work. Sure blacks voted for the first “black” president. OK, but thinking but understandable, especially among the low-info types. But even the more thoughtful are faced with this dilemma: if Obama fails, and it seems inevitable that he is and will, what will be the reason?
They realize that by touting him as this “black” demi-god, he will be seen as failing because he is black. Oh, most will scream “racism,” but they know perfectly well their unmitigated support for O based on his race makes it possible to dismiss his crashed presidency on his race. Thus, they have become bitter-enders, inside their bunkers, unwilling to concede that their support, often in contravention of their own values, was wrong, that they should have had a better reason for supporting this guy, then propping him up at any cost.

However, to the original premise of this article. Racism and pride in one’s own race, is the only reason that some blacks reelected Obama, because they apparently couldn’t bear the thought of the first “black” president serving only one term, no matter how bad he is. I have little doubt that racism is why some blacks continue to vote for certain politicians of their race who have been proven incompetent, corrupt, and who have even served prison time for their crimes.
There are of course, shining examples of black leadership that are worthy of praise by all Americans. It is truly sad that the disreputable, corrupt and terrible ones are supported to nearly as much high esteem by blacks, as the best of them.

One interesting fact from this 83% number is how much lower it is than Obama’s vote percentage of the black voters which was 96%.
Of course, as I’ve pointed out many times, a poll is different from a vote.
The latest Quinnipiac poll, however, only includes voters.
So, it proves that a few voting blacks have become disillusioned with Obama’s job as president.

It’s actually not a mystery why blacks support Obama. Sure, some do because he’s black – Obama admits as much – just as some whites don’t support him for the same reason. It’s tough sometimes reading these articles on race written by hard right conservatives, because right below the surface is this insinuation that blacks just intellectually don’t know what’s best for them. I guess they’re seen as largely the low information voters the author laments, who would be better off taking direction from white conservatives. But this premise, or insinuation, or whatever it is, that blacks support Obama because he’s black is demonstratively false. While some blacks may have voted for, and continue to support, Obama exclusively because he’s black, most voted for him because he’s a Democrat. Here are a few comps: 88% of blacks voted for lily white John Kerry. 90% voted for Al Gore. 84% for Bill Clinton (96), 83% for Bill Clinton (92). Anyone seeing a pattern here? So perhaps the author is overplaying for effect the issue of Obama’s race. Does anyone here actually believe blacks would have voted for Herman Cain over Hilary Clinton? Not likely. Black Americans overwhelmingly vote Democrat for reasons beyond skin color. Making a big deal about Obama’s race is an easy way to play to the peanut gallery (great comments, by the way, guys), but it’s a fundamentally flawed, and perhaps intentionally provocative, reading of the voting patterns and political leanings of black Americans.

Regretfully, I can only rely on personal experience and not culled polling data. Your misplaced snark about “government handouts” is irrelevant and reflects your prejudiced worldview and not reality. My church members are overwhelmingly employed, middle class, with a strong military presence, from privates to colonels. They are bankers, teachers, butchers, barber, bureaucrats (lots of B’s in there) and yet they voted for Obama. Now, there was some prejudice involved: Romney was considered an outsider due to his Mormonism-but these people would never break their deep religious convictions due to mere party loyalty. They supported Obama for the color of his skin, not the content of his character.
I strongly suggest you get to know some black folks instead of reading about them.

Tom, go back and read about the California black vote when the gay marriage proposition was on the ballot.
Blacks did help Democrats win that election.
But it was the black vote against legalizing gay marriage that led to the gay marriage issue going to courts as opposed to voters.
Black voters are more conservative when it comes to such social issues as gay marriage.
Perhaps one of the reasons black VOTERS in the poll have become less in favor of the job Obama is doing lays there.
They can see Obama use courts to over-rule the voters on this gay issue along with quite a few other issues of religious freedom.

Aside from the rhetoric and unsubstantiated argument that Obama has done”so much damage to them”, the true argument that minorities might have is why didn’t or isn’t Obama doing more to protect them from the Plutocratic harm the opposition Party has in store for them.
What you have to understand is that once you pull the curtain closed at the election booth, you really only have 1 of 2 choices. I’ll concede that I believe Obama has come up short in honoring or protecting many of progressive’s initiatives but the kicker is that someone like Romney or a radical right House and Senate (it does amuse me how conveniently you folk forget the role of the legislative branch and the actual operation of government in order to advance your ODS agenda) are literally out to destroy them entirely.
I think the best analogy came from comedian Bill Maher when he said:

Obviously, you would know your fellow church goers better than me, so I won’t dispute your personal interpretation of their actions. I can only point out – again – that not all Christians define Christianity as narrowly as you seem to. You bring up abortion, but many Christians I know don’t support capital punishment. Who do they vote for then? Many Christians believe in social justice and preferential option of the poor and vulnerable. Should they vote for the gutting of social safety nets and the ongoing institutional mass imprisonment of black men? I’m a little disappointed you couldn’t arrive at a plausible explanation for your black friends’ voting for Obama outside of his skin tone, despite the fact, statistically speaking, that almost every black who voted for Obama voted for white Democrats long before Barack Obama ever became a known political quantity. That’s a strange filtering of time and history and fact to arrive at a conclusion that only works since 2008.

Conservatives promote success based on self-reliance, while the DemRinos promote failure based on (public assistance sponsored) dependency.
Self-reliant people can vote for any candidate or party they like.
Dependent people, on the other hand, are bribed to vote for the same old DemRino party. Such voters are, of course, as dependent on the DemRino party as the party is on them.
Imo, this is the real difference between the two.
