The White House Benghazi lie unravels

Oh what a tangled web we weave, When first we practise to deceive!

– Sir Walter Scott

Just how stupid is the White House press?

Just how sycophantic is the White House press?

We are about to discover the answers to those questions soon.

It’s very clear now that the White House orchestrated the big lie about Benghazi- that the attacks were the result of a video. It’s the bullsh*t coming out of the mouth of Jay Carney that leaves you incredulous.

Yesterday the White House defended the Benghazi emails:

The Obama administration Wednesday said recently released emails on the 2012 Benghazi attacks reflected what officials “understood to be the facts at the time.”

“In the email [deputy national security adviser Ben] Rhodes makes clear that our primary goals included making sure our people in the field were protected and bringing those responsible for the attacks to justice,” Bernadette Meehan, National Security Council spokeswoman, said in a statement. “The content reflects what the administration was saying at the time and what we understood to be the facts at the time.”

No it’s not, but we’ll revisit that again soon.

And on the very same day Jay Carney said those emails that they had insisted were about Benghazi weren’t ever about Benghazi at all:

“The email and the talking points were not about Benghazi,” Carney said. “They were about the general situation in the Muslim world.”

Again- on the same day, Bernadette Meehan, National Security Council spokeswoman:

“In the email [deputy national security adviser Ben] Rhodes makes clear that our primary goals included making sure our people in the field were protected and bringing those responsible for the attacks to justice,”

To his credit, Jonathan Karl took Carney on about this:

video via Mediaite

You’ll want to watch the entire video. It’s both infuriating and amusing.

Carney lies, repeatedly. He says it was the “best information we had at the time” but that is an absolute, outright lie.

And we’ll visit that very soon.

When MSNBC says “gee, you know, there is something to this Benghazi thing, you know the White House has a problem.

After months of denying any politicization of the Benghazi talking points, Wagner felt compelled to agree. “And isn’t there something to be said about just wearing the scarlet letter?” she said smilingly. “As Glenn points out, this was a few weeks before a presidential election.”

“Yes, there was a practical reality that this was happening six weeks before an election,” she noted, “and also any administration wants to convey control.”

Indeed. And within in that statement are the grounds for impeachment. The press knows it has been lied to and it’s on record. Let’s see if they pursue this properly.

HE HAS ALSO THE POWER TO BECOME A BEST PRESIDENT EVER, BECAUSE HE DON’T RUN FOR THE MONEY GRAB LIKE THIS ONE,
HE RUN FOR AMERICA AND HIS ALLEGIANCE IS 100% FOR AMERICA,

I lost count. Will this be Benghazi Investigation #6 or Benghazi Investigation #7?

And when can we expect them to get around to Investigation #1 on any of the 12 attacks that happened on GWB’s watch?

Who was David Foy, anyway?

AATTP lists 12 examples of attacks on U.S. embassies and consulates during the Bush years. By my count, there were nearly 100 deaths and almost as many wounded, including 13 schoolchildren, all told. One of the dead included Ambassador David Foy in Karachi, Pakistan. AATP points out that this was the second fatal attack on the consulate in four years. “Where was the extra security? Oh, right. There was none. Mr. Foy was directly targeted in this attack but we never heard a peep from anyone on the right about it.”

@Jeff D:

One of the dead included Ambassador David Foy in Karachi, Pakistan.

To begin with, Mr. Liberal, David Foy was NOT an Ambassador. He was a facilities maintenance officer. While an FSO employee, he was low level.

And when can we expect them to get around to Investigation #1 on any of the 12 attacks that happened on GWB’s watch?

Right after we convict Jimmie Carter for the failure to protect our people in Iran. Or after we investigate the four actual Ambassadors, Cleo Noel, Sudan; Rodger Davies, Cyprus, Francis E. Meloy, Jr., Lebanon and Adolph Dubs, Afghanistan that were killed under Democrat Jimmie Carter.

Shall we take a look at the many, many terrorist attacks on American interests under Bill Clinton, including the bombing of the World Trade Center and the U.S.S. Cole where 17 Americans were killed?

Jeff D:
stick around, they are waiting for the DEMOCRATS TO COME,

that is a great info, thank you,

re: #203

You’re a hypocrite. You’re all hypocrites. 12 such incidents while Bush was in charge—12, not even counting 9/11. 9/11 alone should win him and his republican buddies the Asleep at the Switch Award of the Century. The only thing these idiots are good at is blame shifting and stirring up mobs of fools.

@Jeff D: And when can we expect them to get around to Investigation #1 on any of the 12 attacks that happened on GWB’s watch?

Gee.
The attackers who murdered David Foy are ALL DEAD!
And the previous attempt to attack an American building in Pakistan was THWARTED when the building’s guards investigated a parked van and found it filled with explosives. The Americans were then able to disable the detonator.
So, I guess the ”investigations” were concurrent with each happening.

@Jeff D: Well, gee, Jeff; maybe if Bubba hadn’t passed on at least 4 attempts to kill or capture bin Laden, gutted the CIA of human operatives working in the region and made it illegal for the FBI and CIA to talk to one another, 9/11 COULD have been avoided we don’t know. Perhaps the answers got stuck into Sandy Berger’s underwear and sneaked out of the Archives.

One thing is for absolutely certain; getting caught completely flat-footed on the damned anniversary of 9/11 is just about as inexcusable as one can get. Obama and his band of children were obviously aware of this, thus explaining the idiotic excuse of the “video”, which did nothing but to insult the intelligence of everyone that had any.

All such events get investigated. 3 of them had hearings. The difference is none of them were stonewalled and lied about for tw0 (going on 4) years.

The hypocrisy is that you on the left want to hold everyone else accountable, even for the things you imagine yet give your Lord and Savior a total pass on every failure.

So if you think that there ought to be some kind of punitive action levied against President George W. Bush for those “12 such incidents,” then how come you aren’t calling for the same punitive action to be levied against President Obama for this incident?

Are you sure that you aren’t the hypocrite here?

@Jeff D: #206

bill clinton had reduced the size of the military, and the intelligence gathering agencies so he could say he balanced the budget. Because of the intelligence cuts, many agents had to be called home because it was too expensive to keep them where they were. We then had to rely on foreign intelligence for a lot of our information. If clinton hadn’t cut the intelligence budget, there probably wouldn’t have been a 9/11.

What kind of award should clinton get for this?

What kind of award should clinton get for having OBL offered to him THREE TIMES, and refusing to take him?

re: #209:

Q: “Are you sure that you aren’t the hypocrite here?”

A: Yes.

George W Bush, 13; Obama 1:

A List of Deadly Terrorist Attacks on U.S. Diplomatic Targets Under President George W. Bush, 2001-2009

@Jeff D:

Jeff, the problem with you hypocritical leftists (but I repeat myself), is that your intrinsic dishonesty results in blindness to reality and subsequent non sequitor comparisons to hide the failure and avoid responsibility for leftist incompetency. The Obama administration LIED about Benghazi, and for 20 months has engaged in an outrageous cover up rather than accept responsibility for the egregeous policy failure. There was no cover up in any of the terrorist attacks that occured when Bush was in office. The Rhodes.email proves the Obama administration was lying about Benghazi, but you leftists are so blinded by ideology you refuse to acknowledge that Obama and his minions are more concerned about their political image than the good of the country.

ALL REPUBLICANS NOTE:

“House Republicans’ two-year investigation determined the Obama administration responded appropriately to 2012’s attack on the Benghazi consulate.”

“The Friday report by the Republican-led House Select Committee on Intelligence found no intelligence failure prior to the attacks, no evidence that the White House told the military to stand down during the attack and no evidence that the CIA was involved in related arms shipments.”

Nice work, huffing and puffing and blowing up “Benghazi – Benghazi – Benghazi” into the “scandal” that it never was, save for in the delusional-yet-hopeful minds of people desperate enough to sell their souls to the Devil in order to kill Hillary’s chances in 2016. Oops!

But unlike the principled folk you PRETEND to be, YOU won’t be issuing any apologies. Your brain-washing worked too well on yourselves, and you’ll take this list of “Benghazi-lies” of yours to the grave along with all of the others you so mistakenly cherish.

Pfffttt!

@George+Wells: What the report said was that the military and CIA acted properly.

But the investigation also found the security at the diplomatic outpost was weak and it described a “flawed” process used to create talking points for House Intelligence Committee members and then-U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, whose public statements after the attack incensed critics who said the administration was avoiding calling the attack terrorism.

This does not address why the administration ignored the threats or requests for security or why they lied their assess off to cover up their negligence.

Swing and a miss, George.

BBC News: Benghazi consulate attack: Report clears US response

“A US investigation has found no wrongdoing by the Obama administration in responding to the deadly 2012 attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

“The inquiry by the Republican-run House Intelligence Committee also said there was no intelligence failure and no delay in sending a CIA rescue team.”

vs.

FOX News: CIA gathered intelligence on weapons to Syria: Benghazi report

“A leading Republican wants to expand the House investigation into the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attack by adding a Senate probe, as a new House Intelligence Committee report Friday concluded that the initial CIA assessment found no demonstrations prior to the assault and a primary purpose of the CIA operation in eastern Libya was to track the movement of weapons to Syria.

“The report described the attack as “complex” with the attackers affiliated with Al Qaeda. It also said the initial CIA assessment concluded there were no demonstrations outside the State Department Consulate in Eastern Libya.”

There was not a word about the report clearing the Obama Administration of wrongdoing. The FOX article actually failed to mention any of the report’s conclusions. Not that they were difficult to find. They were summarized at the top of Page 1 of the document.

Breitbart has listed the conclusions resulting from the 2-year investigation. Here’s their article concerning the new House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence report.

@Greg: That is because, Greg, the report does not clear the administration of wrong doing. It clears the CIA and military. They are, to be sure, PART of the administration, but not the administration. As I said, there are still questions to be answered. It still looks like State and the White House hung the consulate, Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods out to dry, then lied about it to protect their electoral asses in the 2012 elections.
