Obama Rex of Thebes D.C.

th

Night has fallen in Thebes D.C., preceding days have fueled the corruption scandals that plague Obama Rex. His minions and loyal staffers struggle valiantly to avoid perjury, yet remain loyal to the Obama Rex Myth.

Obama Rex, known by acclimation alone to be the greatest king in all history, struggles valiantly to keep his kingdom together.

Obama’s henchmen known in polite circles as his Royal IRS or Secret Police, not because they are secretive in their actions but because they are in charge of knowing your secrets and your inner-most thoughts. Those who oversee the financial details of your life, now have access to your health records as well and this troubles people who have fallen on desperate times.

It is the conservative barbarians who keep searching for honor and integrity that make the unscrupulous professional politicians nervous with this unending search for a filament of truth in Obama Rex’s Kingdom of Corruption and Lies, this kingdom once known as the most transparent in our history or at least before the ship of state felt it was best to sail on muddy waters.

Those days when conservative barbarians were expected to defend every action if they thresisted the charming magnetism of Obama Rex or belonged, donated, or wrote for Conservative groups; such anti-social behavior was considered non-progressive and barbarians learned to expect to defend such aberrant political convictions in the form of audits and unceasing harassment by Obama Rex’s “Secret Police.”

Those were the days when resistance to the inevitable force of Obama’s Progressivism was considered futile; why resist the irreversible tide of public adulation and invite financial ruin as well as the loss of all your property. Financial destruction was meant to become a foregone conclusion among those who resist Obama’s totalitarian control, but with the passage of the Unaffordable Heath Care Act he acquired all your health records and his totalitarian control become even more omnipotent.

The barbarians can’t win, it has become not only unfashionable but resistance has been considered a fool’s game. If you deny Obama Rex’s omnipotent benevolence, he can destroy your reputation by leaking facts concerning your mental health, abortions, and treatments for STD. Your health records, once considered private, will now be at the disposal of this same “Secret Police” known as the IRS and will be used against you to destroy your reputation and or family if you are foolish enough to resist the inevitable.

Our Leftists and the chorus cries out, “But Obama isn’t like that, he is a wonderful and beautiful man with only your best interests at heart.”

Yes, the Conservatives and barbarians began to be lulled into a false sense of security by trusting in the Obama Myth, but oracles like Kimberly Strassel cried out from the summit of the Wall Street Journal:

Try this thought experiment: You decide to donate money to Mitt Romney. You want change in the Oval Office, so you engage in your democratic right to send a check.
Several days later, President Barack Obama, the most powerful man on the planet, singles you out by name. His campaign brands you a Romney donor, shames you for “betting against America,” and accuses you of having a “less-than-reputable” record. The message from the man who controls the Justice Department (which can indict you), the SEC (which can fine you), and the IRS (which can audit you), is clear: You made a mistake donating that money.
Are you worried?

Richard Nixon’s “enemies list” appalled the country for the simple reason that presidents hold a unique trust. Unlike senators or congressmen, presidents alone represent all Americans. Their powers—to jail, to fine, to bankrupt—are also so vast as to require restraint. Any president who targets a private citizen for his politics is de facto engaged in government intimidation and threats. This is why presidents since Nixon have carefully avoided the practice.

Save Mr. Obama, who acknowledges no rules. This past week, one of his campaign websites posted an item entitled “Behind the curtain: A brief history of Romney’s donors.” In the post, the Obama campaign named and shamed eight private citizens who had donated to his opponent. Describing the givers as all having “less-than-reputable records,” the post went on to make the extraordinary accusations that “quite a few” have also been “on the wrong side of the law” and profiting at “the expense of so many Americans.”

The same enemy of the state, Mr Vandersloot, received a letter from the Department of Labor:

He was informed it would be doing an audit of workers he employs on his Idaho-based cattle ranch under the federal visa program for temporary agriculture workers.

The H-2A program allows tens of thousands of temporary workers in the U.S.; Mr. VanderSloot employs precisely three. All are from Mexico and have worked on the VanderSloot ranch—which employs about 20 people—for five years. Two are brothers. Mr. VanderSloot has never been audited for this, though two years ago his workers’ ranch homes were inspected. (The ranch was fined $8,400, mainly for too many “flies” and for “grease build-up” on the stove. God forbid a cattle ranch home has flies.)

This letter requests an array of documents to ascertain whether Mr. VanderSloot’s “foreign workers are provided the full scope of protections” under the visa program: information on the hours they’ve worked each day and their rate of pay, an explanation of their deductions, copies of contracts. And on and on.

Perhaps all this is coincidence. Perhaps something in Mr. VanderSloot’s finances or on his ranch raised a flag. Americans want to believe the federal government performs its duties without fear or favor.

Only in this case, Americans can have no such confidence. Did Mr. Obama pick up the phone and order the screws put to Mr. VanderSloot? Or—more likely—did a pro-Obama appointee or political hire or career staffer see that the boss had an issue with this donor, and decide to do the president an unasked-for election favor? Or did he or she simply think this was a duty, given that the president had declared Mr. VanderSloot and fellow donors “less than reputable”?

Mr. VanderSloot says he “expected the public beatings” from the left after the naming, but he “also wondered whether government agencies, anxious to please their boss, would take notice of the target he had apparently placed on me. Now that I’m being singled out for audits, I can’t help but wonder whether there is a connection.”

The chorus tries to awaken barbarians and those loyal to the principles of the first fathers, despite the desperate denial of all those who surround Obama Rex.

Analysis: This opening act establishes the conflict between the traditions and spirit of the state with Obama’s ideology of ruthless totalitarian control by the omnipotent state and benevolent tyranny.
th
However, by over extending his power and influence, he exposes the soft underbelly of a regime built upon nepotism and the promotion of loyal incompetents. The administration is soft and Obama Rex is no leader. Media hype builds no character or integrity in a leader, and Obama Rex has been found to have neither character or integrity.

In the original play, Sophocles rightfully assumed he had an intelligent audience. In this adaptation, Obama Rex rightfully assumes the majority of his audience to possess a marginal intellect, despite the many degrees they have accumulated, for the educational process has been a system of Leftist indoctrination for decades. His audience is primed to willingly accept the Leftist scam of which Obama Rex appears to be the deliverer or messiah.

It is the chorus that sings of Obama Rex’s tragedy. For while he considers himself to be in complete mastery of the ship of state, being in control is not the ultimate goal of kingship and although Obama Rex can conquer any goal, from crossing raging winter seas, taming the wildest horses, and snaring animals, unless he directs those media professed goals toward justice, common good, and the law, leaders like Obama Rex become monsters among men.

Act 2

Obama Rex’s ship of state is floundering, he and his followers argue that the well-being of the state should be man’s greatest achievement, but they are countered by those who argue that love is man’s greatest goal. The conflict intensifies as the ship of state takes on more water from different sources. th

A plague of pecuinary insufficiency settles on all of Thebes D.C. and its surrounding states. The people gather outside Obama Rex’s White Palace to mourn the loss of their fortunes and their freedoms.

Obama Rex is puzzled and asks his blind soothsayer Valerie Braininjar what is wrong with these people. She tells him the people mourn because their way of life is dying. Obama Rex is even more perplexed, shouldn’t they be celebrating. They should be glad Obama Rex has their best interests in mind and realize he protects them from evil.

Another soothsayer appears in the form of Creon Cruz, he seems to have answers, Obama Rex and his people listen in wonderment.

Cruz yells out, “The figurative murderer of his father is in Thebes D.C., an early instance of road rage, with chariots no less, made a man the killer of his father. The same man became intimate and married the Leftist ideology of his mother. Thus he and his father shared the same ship’s berth in a wide harbor. Such licentious crimes bring misfortune to our realm.”

According to Cruz, that man had to leave Thebes D.C. before the country can heal.

Obama Rex demands to know the name of scoundrel.th

Cruz points his finger to the gods and then points his finger at Obama Rex.

From that moment of realization, Obama Rex began to fall apart. He picked up two ink pens from his mother’s notes and stabbed his eyes.

The chorus sings, it matters not, for none are more blind than those who refuse to see.
Obama Rex leaves the stage muttering that for some there is only justice and peace in death.

Analysis: Supposedly, Obama Rex’s self-discovery is the secret of his undoing, but remember, he learns the truth at the same time as the other players and the audience.

This was meant to be entertainment, any similarity between people living or dead is purely coincidental.

    Skook,

@joetote: Thanks Joe, I was going to paraphrase the whole enchilada until I realized it would take weeks or months, with too many characters that don’t really fit the modern narrative. It was fun to write and I found myself laughing at the humor within the similarities of personalities.

The Greeks understood human nature, and I think their writers were far more intuitive as far as the human mind and motives that set up intrigue in politics and relationships. What a story, Oedipus is 2,200 years old and still makes people marvel in this electronic age.

I wonder if the Tragedy of Obama will be as noteworthy? It will probably depend on how gracefully he makes his exit from the stage. History is not kind to tyrants who make fools of themselves before their departure both from public life and from this mortal coil we call life.

There will be no Triple Crown Winner this year, only a few every hundred years or so get that title. Oh well, there is always next year.

@Skook: You know, that is a good question as to how noted or not Obama is when history writes the books. Nixon as we know destroyed himself but as time goes on, more folks note some of his great achievements and there were some as we know. Not really sure of anything good in the end that O has done that can overcome the really sour perception anyone with a sane mind would have of him. It’s darn easy to create a perception, but it takes ten times longer to change it if needed.

I was amazed at how easily Stevens stole that race yesterday. Slow track or not, we saw a master slow down the pace and steal a race. How lucky were we both in that we got to see 3 Triple Crown winners in our lifetime? Something to marvel at for sure.

Skook, I made a comment the other day about how this Obama Administration was robbing the term ”tragedy” of its original intent.
Today, Obama and his minions in both government and media use ”tragedy” to describe natural disasters and other chaotic occurrences.
But the Greeks came up with the term.
THEY associated it with many players inexorably moving toward a bad end even as some of them did so with their eyes wide open.
Your post harkens to the true meaning of the term, tragedy.
Obama and his have brought it upon themselves.

@Nan G: From memory of 50 years past with an occasional quick glance at references.

Aristotle described the essence of the Greek tragedy; there must be peripeteia or a reversal of fortune. Originally, he wrote that it could go either way, but later on the good to bad scenario became the accepted manner. The protagonist will suffer outrageous fortune as a result of a mistake in judgment rather than depravity or an evil series of acts. His action are to invoke pity and fear among those in the audience.

Oedipus sought to know the mystery of his birth and a messenger was only to happy to tell him the truth, but like the Marine officer threatened in A Few Good Men, Oedipus couldn’t handle the truth.

Obama has 3.5 years of facing the truth; in the past, his judgment was never questioned, those days are over. A peripeteia is unfolding and the peripeteia is being explained to the audience. Will Obama be able to stand before the public’s intense scrutiny in the future? The uncovering of Chicago style political corruption isn’t being accepted by all Leftists and certainly not conservatives.

The unblemished one will no longer be accepted at face value. Every move he makes will be considered a move to consolidate pressure and control.

Obama’s poll numbers are still good. Americans don’t really care about these “scandals” just as they did not care much about Bill and Monica. Americans care more about how they are doing economically and on that score they see slow but steady progress. They also see that the GOP is no longer bothering to even mention jobs as being important. But to most Americans the economy is what counts. After 9/11 muslim groups were targeted by the IRS. The Tea Party is generally less well liked by Americans, than muslims. Here is an article from the right of center daily Caller
    http://dailycaller.com/2011/08/18/poll-tea-party-less-popular-than-muslims-atheists/
In the last 6 national elections the GOP has only won the popular vote once, and 2016 doesn’t look much better.
They have to stop only going negative, they have to be FOR things that a majority of Americans want, like higher taxes for the rich. They have to look at what the voters want. They have to think of the voters as being customers, and here in the USA the customer is always right.

    @john:
The majority of Americans want higher taxes on the rich? Only the economically illiterate ones and the lazy, envious ones who think it unfair that other people earn more money than they do….refusing to understand that the people who work hard and earn their incomes should have a right to keep what they earn.
Giving the immature mob what it thinks it wants without trying to educate them as to the long term consequences is like parents bowing to tbe will of children who want only candy and chips to eat, no bed time, and endless receipt of goodies that cannot be paid for on the available family income.
Poor people do not create jobs. People who have worked hard and built up wealth are the only ones who can do that. Obama’s poorly camouflaged marxism will do nothing good for this country. This dystopian idea that a job is a right…that health care is a right….that equality of outcomes is a noble endeavor…this is smokescreen fantasy designed to mobilize the ignorant, the lazy and the envious to vote themselves slaves in the tyranny inherent in this leftist nightmare.
It is not charity when thugs come and take your wealth from you, regardless of their alleged good intentions.

Americans care more about how they are doing economically and on that score they see slow but steady progress.

You just cannot help trying to do your own Jay Carney/Baghdad Bob impersonation here, can you?

The latest Gallup economic polling, for example, shows that only 19% feel the economy is ‘good'(a -2% change from the previous week) whereas 35% feel the economy is ‘poor'(a +3% change from the previous week).

In the same polling, only 44% feel the economy is getting better, while 50% feel it is getting worse.

So, I’m not sure where you come up with the idea that Americans see “slow but steady progress” on the economic front. Maybe you should quit listening or reading the people you have been and investigate the “facts” you present a little more thoroughly.

@john: You made an excellent point, Americans don’t care about Bill and his bimbo Monica or about him getting his knob polished in the Oval office, but they do care about perjury. Perjury is the reason Bill was impeached and disbarred.

Perjury reflects on a person’s honesty and integrity. President Obama and his AG have a real problem with honesty and integrity. You may accept lies and deceit as being necessary to follow the party line, but the rest of us have no such commitments to Leftist ideology, in fact we are appalled at the at the dishonesty that has been tolerated by the media and the Leftist sycophant.

If Obama is impeached and discredited, it will be because of his blatant disregard for the truth and his lack of integrity. The Leftists are standing on their soap boxes and yelling there is no smoking gun that leads to the Oval Office, but once the prosecutions begin and the prison sentences imposed on those who have brought discredit onto the government, promises of immunity will change many of those protecting higher ups from the stain of scandal and prosecution. The games have only just begun, and we have the template of Watergate to follow.

The games have only just begun, and we have the template of Watergate to follow.

I have to disagree here, Skooks. It’s not Watergate that is the template. It’s the much documented Chicago machine style of politics, for which Rahm’s predecessor was famous. Obama cut his teeth in that environment and learned from some of the best in the “business”, including Michael Madigan who brought that kind of political machination statewide in Illinois.

So, I’d speculate that the current “revelations” of impropriety in the federal government are merely the tip of the iceberg, and much more will be outed to the public in the future. Especially so with the looming final push to institute Obamacare.

The only question is, will Obama be able to ride off scot-free of any lingering political damage, like Mayor Daley did in Chicago, or will he succumb to the mounting evidence against him and his admin, like Nixon did with Watergate?

@johngalt: I appreciate your point. The nature of Watergate and the current deception, lies, and using government agencies as political henchmen is completely different, I was referring to the prosecution. Although, targeting political enemies from a list for persecution has a familiar ring.

Although, I would never condone such totalitarian and authoritarian methods, the Leftists seem to ignore this same attack dog could be unleashed against them once Americans realize this economic malaise has only been prolonged and complicated by Obama’s assault on business and the economy.

If we have a few underlings who want to maintain their jobs and pensions rather than spending a few years in the federal penitentiary, (I suppose all of them will) Obama will have had the biscuit. It’s obvious the investigation will not proceed from the top down, it is time to work from the bottom up and remember there are always at least two records of all emails.

I think the Tea Party and all other Conservative Groups may be mistaken in assuming the Progressives are equivalent to the British in the historical allegory. One could remember that the Colonial Troops won quite a few battles waging guerrilla warfare tactics against a traditional rank and file well regimented superior force. We may be confusing ourselves thinking we, as Patriots, are the colonialists in this fight when we are in fact the British. We value openness and honesty displaying ourselves on the high ground expecting the progressives to play by the rules when they are actually well camouflaged doing their dirty warfare behind the cover of darkness protected by the propaganda machine they have created posing as a freedom of speech supporting media. While the Conservative Groups do their open hearted transparent thing similar to the honorable but fatally ignorant British troops the Progressive Left Wing Radicals hide and pounce then run and hide behind their ridiculous lies to pounce again in some other unexpected place. Conservatives need to raid their armory and camo up! (metaphorically speaking)
