Shocker! Mosque The Boston Terrorists Attended Was Hotbed Of Fanaticism

Looks as if Oren Dorell at USA Today is the only one doing any actual reporting in our media:

The mosque attended by the two brothers accused in the Boston Marathon double bombing has been associated with other terrorism suspects, has invited radical speakers to a sister mosque in Boston and is affiliated with a Muslim group that critics say nurses grievances that can lead to extremism.

Several people who attended the Islamic Society of Boston mosque in Cambridge, Mass., have been investigated for Islamic terrorism, including a conviction of the mosque’s first president, Abdulrahman Alamoudi, in connection with an assassination plot against a Saudi prince.

Its sister mosque in Boston, known as the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center, has invited guests who have defended terrorism suspects. A former trustee appears in a series of videos in which he advocates treating gays as criminals, says husbands should sometimes beat their wives and calls on Allah (God) to kill Zionists and Jews, according to Americans for Peace and Tolerance, an interfaith group that has investigated the mosques.

The head of the group is among critics who say the two mosques teach a brand of Islamic thought that encourages grievances against the West, distrust of law enforcement and opposition to Western forms of government, dress and social values.

Two men who happened to to be Islamic plant bombs and blow up men, women and children and the media wonders…”what could of turned them into fanatics?”

Maybe it was the lack of an ObamaPhone to go along with the welfare they received.

Maybe it was because of Ben Affleck movies.

Or maybe, just maybe, it had something to do with their religion and the mosques they attended.

Ya think?

Mr. Dorell goes into some recent alumni of the mosques:

• Alamoudi, who signed the articles of incorporation as the Cambridge mosque’s president, was sentenced to 23 years in federal court in Alexandria, Va., in 2004 for his role as a facilitator in what federal prosecutors called a Libyan assassination plot against then-crown prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. Abdullah is now the Saudi king.

• Aafia Siddiqui, who occasionally prayed at the Cambridge mosque, was arrested in Afghanistan in 2008 while in possession of cyanide canisters and plans for a chemical attack in New York City. She tried to grab a rifle while in detention and shot at military officers and FBI agents, for which she was convicted in New York in 2010 and is serving an 86-year sentence.

• Tarek Mehanna, who worshiped at the Cambridge mosque, was sentenced in 2012 to 17 years in prison for conspiring to aid al-Qaeda. Mehanna had traveled to Yemen to seek terrorist training and plotted to use automatic weapons to shoot up a mall in the Boston suburbs, federal investigators in Boston alleged.

• Ahmad Abousamra, the son of a former vice president of the Muslim American Society Boston Abdul-Badi Abousamra, was identified by the FBI as Mehanna’s co-conspirator. He fled to Syria and is wanted by the FBI on charges of providing support to terrorists and conspiracy to kill Americans in a foreign country.

• Jamal Badawi of Canada, a former trustee of the Islamic Society of Boston Trust, which owns both mosques, was named as a non-indicted co-conspirator in the 2007 Holy Land Foundation terrorism trial in Texas over the funneling of money to Hamas, which is the Palestinian wing of the Muslim Brotherhood.

But never fear, the NYT’s decided to do some REAL reporting and conduct an analysis of the terrorists twitter feed:

Given the layers of irony, sarcasm and joking often employed on Twitter, it can be difficult to parse the messages of a stranger. Yet some of them can seem menacing or portentous, given what we now suspect: “a decade in america already, I want out,” “Never underestimate the rebel with a cause” or “No one is really violent until they’re with the homies.” But others suggest a more Holden Caulfield-like adolescent alienation: “some people are just misunderstood by the world thus the increase of suicide rates.”

So why did it take USA Today to discover these facts? Because as Ace wrote, they just didn’t wan’t to know:

We Don’t Want to Know, and We Can’t Report It If We Never Discover It, so Let’s Just Give this One a Miss.

You’ve seen this, of course, in the Gosnell case. The media suspects the details of the case would not be helpful for the pro-partial-birth-abortion left and therefore does not endeavor to collect the details. You can’t be charged with failing to disclose what you intentionally made yourself ignorant of.

We also see this in the case of Dzhohkar Tsarnaev. Why did USAToday alone get the scoop on the radical mosque and its myriad terrorist connections?

Not just hard work and beating everyone to the punch. Though they should be credited with that.

No, they got the scoop because other media organizations realized The News Would Probably Not Help the Left and hence gave it a pass.

Meanwhile, the NYT, for example, spends its journalistic dollars to interview the Lovely Lads’ former high-school classmates and other such The Human Side soft-soap.

USAToday went to where the news was likely to be; the New York Times did not.

This is not because the New York Times didn’t know there was some news to be had there. Rather, it’s because they had the same notion USAToday had — that there would be a scoop there — and deliberately chose to not land that scoop, preferring to write stories about Tsarnaev’s dreams of wrestling and Tamarlan’s dreams of…

How far we have come from the days of Woodward and Bernstein.

“Maybe it was the lack of an ObamaPhone to go along with the welfare they received.” Aw, really? Lol! That’s really the crux of your argument isn’t it? Cynicism and bullshit.

Consider the case of the “Obama phone,” which was the subject of an excellent report by Karen Tumulty the same day as Paul’s speech at Howard. This is, actually, a three-decades-old program in which phone companies provide free service to the indigent on the theory that access to phones is vital for emergency services, obtaining jobs, and so on. It exploded into the right-wing consciousness last year when this video made the conservative rounds:

It has received nearly 8 million hits. Republicans, convinced the “Obama phone” is a real thing, are denouncing it as Obama socialism gone wild and even holding hearings in Congress. All that it took for a long-standing, uncontroversial, bipartisan program to become a widely cited symbol of government excess was a viral video of a scary black woman touting it.

Hmmm… but I thought racism doesn’t exist in America?

The trolls must be fishermen – must be out early to try to get the first bite — and muddy up the waters for the next person.

There is no such thing as a moderate or peaceful moo-slime. That is all there is — there is no more.

Budvarakbar
you stole my talk because you are one step in front of me,
and so close to the trolls, it must have been hard to keep your gun in your pocket,
aren’t they the stupidest little trash to come first on this POST,

CURT
that is quite a nest of terrorist sympatiser inciters and promoters in that MOSQUE
and the other center close to the STUDENTS HIGH SCHOOL they surely breath the air of terrorist,
a good find,
thank you

The question is whether an entire local religious community can be branded as complicit with the thoughts and actions of a person who attends their services. Considering anyone can walk into most mosques or churches across the country when there are services, I see that as as highly problematic contention. Is there evidence that the leadership of this mosque supported radical and/or anti-American ideas, either form the pulpit of financially? I can find nothing to that effect. In fact, everything I’ve read and know about this community points to the opposite conclusion.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – When preachers told congregants at a mosque in November that it was appropriate for Muslims to celebrate U.S. holidays such as the Fourth of July and Thanksgiving, a man who would later be a suspect in last week’s the Boston Marathon bombing stood up to argue, the mosque said.
….
he group said in its statement that Tsarnaev, who was pronounced dead on Friday after a shootout with police, was not a member of its Cambridge mosque but sometimes attended Friday services and daily prayers over the last year or so.
….
The troublesome behavior first came in November, just before Thanksgiving, the mosque said. At a weekly prayer, a preacher gave a sermon saying it was appropriate for Muslims to celebrate American holidays. Tamerlan Tsarnaev stood up and argued that “celebration of any holiday was not allowed in the faith.”

The preacher met with Tsarnaev and discussed the issue after the service.

In January, the mosque said Tsarnaev had a similar outburst.

This time, the sermon included praise for Martin Luther King Jr., and this time Tsarnaev shouted, calling the preacher a “non-believer” and “hypocrite” who was “contaminating people’s minds.” Congregants shouted back at him, telling him to leave, and he did.

Later, volunteer leaders of the mosque met with him and told him that he would not be welcome at service if he interrupted again.

@Tom:

Hmmm… but I thought racism doesn’t exist in America?

Oh, it exists… Just not where you’re most apt to look for it.

@Aye:

I’m glad we agree that racism exists. I don’t hesitate to call it when I see it. I like your example. Of course I didn’t have to travel as far to find mine. The Obama Phone is apparently the gift that keeps on giving.

@Tom:

Read the unholy koran.

Calls for slavery. Calls for jihad to conquer and enslave or kill all who refuse to bow down to the satanic allah. Instructs muslims to lie to all infidels to gain advantage over them. Instructs that a woman’s testimony is worth half that of a man’s in shariah courts. Instructs that killing infidels will result in the muslim having 72 virgins with which to spend eternity having sex.

So yeah, I don’t trust muslims. Their own guidebook is clear in showing me why I shouldn’t trust them.

I submit that Islam is not a religion, and it’s credentials as one in the USA should be revoked. Islam is a totalitarian political system that uses the trappings of religion to enforce its edicts on everyone it can reach through evangelism and violence.

No other religion seeks world domination as part of its dogma. No other religion insists that non-adherents must follow Islamic rules under the threat of violence. The USA and other countries have been attacked numerous times by Islamic adherents for “sinning against Islam.”

Other religions seek adherents, Islam seeks domination of all cultures. Adherents may leave religions at will, but to leave Islam is a death sentence.

Islam is not a religion.

Let me see if I understand the Muslim religion. I haven’t read the Koran, but I intend to buy one to check things out that I read or hear. According to what I have seen and heard, the Koran tells Muslims:

All non-Muslims are infidels.
If you can’t convert an infidel, you must kill them.
If you leave the Muslim religion, you must be killed.
If a man’s wife or kids insults him by wearing makeup or other reasons, he can kill them.
Gays should be killed.

Doesn’t this sound similar to a terrorist organization?
