Al Gore’s employee’s a bit upset over the sale of Current TV to Big Oil

It’s nice to see a progressive admit that their old hero is a hypocrite:

Yesterday morning, the still shell shocked staff at Current TV was called to an all hands staff meeting at its San Francisco headquarters, which was teleconferenced to their offices in LA and NYC, to meet their new bosses.

That would be two of Al Jazeera’s top guys: Ehab Al Shihabi, executive director of international operations, and Muftah AlSuwaidan, general manager of the London bureau.

Ominously missing was the creator of Current, the self proclaimed inventor of the Internet and savior of clean energy, Al Gore, although his partner, Joel Hyatt, stood proudly with the Al Jazeera honchos.

“Of course Al didn’t show up,” said one high placed Current staffer. “He has no credibility.

“He’s supposed to be the face of clean energy and just sold [the channel] to very big oil, the emir of Qatar! Current never even took big oil advertising—and Al Gore, that bulls***ter sells to the emir?”

The meeting, while not contentious, was, according to staffers who spoke on the condition of anonymity, miserable.

The mostly left-leaning group—some still in denial —weren’t buying what Al Jazeera was selling.

And what are they selling? Al Jazeera’s image of —are you ready?— “inform, inspire and entertain!”

Hahahahahaha…..

I’m sorry, I can’t help it. These dummies fell for the crap ManBearPig shoveled at them years ago when most everyone knew he was full of shite and now they are a tad upset.

Oh wait a minute, I guess they aren’t:

Though the deal’s been widely criticized on the right, most of my progressive friends have a more tolerant attitude towards the transaction: “After what happened to him,” in the recount of 2000, one friend remarked, “I’d forgive him almost anything.”A politically active environmentalist, too, was taking the news in stride: “I don’t think the community is too upset,” he said. “My personal sense is he got a good deal.”

Hypocrisy…thy name is progressive.

It’s ok that Gore hypocritically took money from big oil because he was beaten in 2000?

Give me a friggin break.

Gore has a proven record of being a jackhole who has used the green movement for his own benefit. There is absolutely nothing wrong with trying to become wealthy, which he has done by surpassing Romney’s net worth, but come on…be honest about it. Selling your company to those who you vilified is hypocritical. Plain and simple. And only the gullible would believe this guy.

Seeing that most progressives are gullible I guess this was to be expected.

Exit quote:

In short, with his fingers in just about every industry pie, Gore has become a highly successful businessman and has seen his personal wealth explode since his disastrous bid for the White House.

Yet, oddly enough, he has managed to avoid the anti-business, anti-profit sentiment that has swept over the country.

Weird, right?

Al Gore and Current TV had no problem having Eliot Spitzer on their payroll.
But Al Jazeera wanted nothing to do with perverts so he had to go.
You might remember Spitzer was ”Client #9″ who wanted prostitutes to do things that were ”not safe.”

I wonder what CurrentTV’s new bosses will think of gay marriage, sexual equality in the workforce, at providing healthcare for employee’s same sex partners, paying for contraceptives, birth control, abortions and sex change operations? Will their employees be as openly liberal with the new boss? Oh, to be a fly on the wall.

Watching the destruction of Al Gores political agenda and his cult-like minions is truly gratifying.
Making the clowns at Current TV work for big oil is like forcing Jews to work for Hitler.

    This made my day, thanx!

A very clear illustration of lib logic — Al Gorleone could shoot up a school and these morons would excuse it cause he lost an election — In other words — blame it on someone or something else — totally off the real track — mental disorder is putting it lightly when discussing the immature drug addled thought process of libs.

@Budvarakbar: The 2000 election was held according to the Constitution. Goracle lost fair and square. These idiots that work for Current TV have encountered exactly what they deserve, the opposite of what they were attempting to impose on others. Too Funny….

    Also:

Liberal hero and arch-environmentalist Al Gore tried to save himself a $5 million higher tax bill by rushing through the sale of Current TV before the U.S. fell off the fiscal cliff on December 31st
The former vice president had been hoping to sell his television network to Arab news giant Al Jazeera before the end of 2012 so that his $100 million payout wouldn’t be affected by the tax increases approved by Congress and signed by the president after frantic negotiations on Tuesday.
Unfortunately for Gore, 64, the $500 million sale of the struggling channel did not go through until January 2nd and therefore will be subject to the five percent increase in Capital Gains Tax to 20 percent that came into effect in 2013.
