Does Obama Feminism Define Women As Intellectually Inferior?

The president may not have enough time to attend to the security of his diplomatic delegations or meet with the Prime Minister of Israel who flew here specifically to request a conference, but he has time to weigh in on a feud between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, the judges of American Idol.

While some of you might consider this to be a waste of time for such an important man with a limited schedule, but to certain women he appears to be thoughtful and compassionate father image willing to pass on sage advice to women who need direction.

When the polls are indicate women are deserting the president, he must project himself as a man who cares about women and their issues. To accomplish part of this goal, he called into a radio station after Minaj directed a barrage of X rated expletives at Mariah during the taping of a show and Carey claimed Minaj threatened to shoot her. A claim that has been denied by Minaj.

Obviously there are problems on one of America’s most popular shows and President Obama is a revered person among celebrities, and the feelings are mutual.

Thus the president had to call into Michael Yo’s radio show to offer his advice, and when asked by Yo:

“Can you repair the relationship with Mariah Carey and Nikki Minaj on ‘American Idol’?”

The president used the same masterful diplomacy he has employed to quell the barbaric tensions of the Middle East and said:

“I think that they are going to be able to sort it out, I am confident. I’m all about bringing people together, working for the same cause, I think both outstanding artists are going to be able to make sure that they’re moving forward and not going backwards.”

Yo followed up with the typical hard hitting Liberal counter question and asked if the president had a favorite between the two.

“Mariah, she’s actually done some events for us. I’ve gotten to know her and Nick (Cannon), she’s a wonderful lady. Nicki I don’t know, but I’ve got her on my iPod.”

Now before you laugh consider the effect this strategy is having on American women:

Without a doubt, Obama is capturing the loyalty of some women, especially when Michelle weighs in on the effort to cinch the deal with pronouncements of a glorious recovery.

First Lady Michelle Obama, doing an interview on hip hop radio, tells America about being in the “midst” of a glorious or “huge recovery”, as a result of what “this president” has done. In response to the question:

“Mrs. Obama, you know what, in your words, tell us what you think the state of the union is in right now?”

Michelle:

“I mean, we are seeing right now that we are in the midst of a huge recovery. Right? Because of what this president has done.”

Pulled this economy from the brink of collapse when we were losing 800,000 jobs a month. Now were gaining every — throughout most of his presidency, we’ve been adding jobs to this economy because of what he’s been doing. The stock market has doubled. Housing prices are rising. Foreclosure rates are lowering. But in the face of that, you still have people trying to convince us that things aren’t better.

And that just doesn’t make sense. Now, Barack of all people knows that we still have a long way to go to completely rebuild the economy. But we’re headed in the right direction. And when you see all of that truth, it’s hard to understand why are people blocking this? Why are people talking about not raising taxes on wealthy people? Why is it that people don’t want to fight to make sure that veterans have job opportunities?

Does Obama Feminism Now Define Women As Intellectually

First Lady Michelle Obama said in a radio interview on Friday that the United States is in the “midst of a huge recovery” because of what “this president has done.”

Pablo Sato, co-host of Pablo & Free on WPGC 95.5, a Washington, D.C.-area hip-hop radio station, asked the first lady: “Mrs. Obama, you know what, in your words, tell us what you think the state of the union is in right now?”

Mrs. Obama said, “I mean, we are seeing right now that we are in the midst of a huge recovery. Right? Because of what this president has done.”

Free: “Yes.”

Obama: “Pulled this economy from the brink of collapse when we were losing 800,000 jobs a month. Now were gaining every — throughout most of his presidency, we’ve been adding jobs to this economy because of what he’s been doing. The stock market has doubled. Housing prices are rising. Foreclosure rates are lowering. But in the face of that, you still have people trying to convince us that things aren’t better.”

Free: “Uh huh.”

Obama: “And that just doesn’t make sense. Now, Barack of all people knows that we still have a long way to go to completely rebuild the economy. But we’re headed in the right direction. And when you see all of that truth, it’s hard to understand why are people blocking this? Why are people talking about not raising taxes on wealthy people? Why is it that people don’t want to fight to make sure that veterans have job opportunities?”

Free: “They just like to talk, Mrs. Obama.”

Obama: “Yeah. Yeah.”

According to the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), the real gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 1.3 percent in the second quarter of 2012, down from 2.0 percent from first quarter 2012.

The BEA data also show GDP growth of (negative) – 3.1 percent in 2009; 2.4 percent in 2010; and 1.8 percent in 2011.

In addition, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) shows that the national unemployment rate is 7.8 percent, the same rate as when Barack Obama was inaugurated as president in January 2009.

Does Obama Feminism Define Women As Intellectually Inferior?

Thus the Obamas attempt the capture the votes of women by assuming they are among the lowest common intellectual denominator. Will it work? It depends on whether women appreciate the condescension and the assumption that they are incapable of thinking for themselves and need the guidance of the fatherly or big brother image of Obama. You can be assured he is banking on the insecurities of women to carry him to victory on November 6, 2012.

The Obamas sure do love to use straw men.

I heard the one about Mooshell claiming a glorious recovery on a hip-hop station this morning and just as I was starting to think “what a dumb —” it dawned on me that that recovery BS is aimed at the 47% — who, when they hear there is this big recovery — think – what the hey? — Ise aint gettin’ my share! — damm rich people — — stickin’ it to us again

The men — I am personally against abortion and pro adoption.
But for a man to presume he can TELL a woman what she can do with HER body is the height of hubris.Would you like woman defining what you can do with your body?

Rich, is feminism to be solely defined by abortion or are there other issues involved.

Apparently Michelle wouldn’t know a robust recovery if one hit her over the head!
We are actually in a slowing ”recovery,” that used to be doing better than it is now!
Job creation has been tepid at best over the past three years.
But now job creation has now fallen back to just 87,000 per month since March.
Only 58.3 percent of us have work at all!
This is the lowest since the early 1980s.
Only about half of women in the United States have a job.
We have lost $11 TRILLION in household wealth!
52% of families are saving, however, a new high.
But their reason is FEAR of their financial future.
People who have held jobs longer than 3 years have lost their jobs in huge numbers.
How many, of any of the 5 income groups can really claim they are better off than they were before this recession?
Not too many.
BUT…..
Obama’s plan could not have been to get Americans back to work.
If it had been, he would have kept tweaking his jobs’ programs until he found a strategy that worked.
Obama’s plan could not have been to eliminate the debt.
If it had been, he would have worked hard with the Senate to produce budgets that strictly made cuts.
Obama’s plan could not have been to assist free enterprise to grow the economy.
If it had been, he would not have put up roadblock after roadblock of regulations and freezes to prevent our economic engine from getting both gas and air.
Obama is a student of Cloward-Piven.
He is following their strategy of stuffing the government until it fails of its own weight.
Does he think he will be one of the ”haves” in the Mad Max future he is working us toward?

I hope Romney wins. I want to focus on tales of Western adventure, survival, love, horses, dogs, hunting, fishing, and the American Dream. I just want to write political posts when Romney forgets who elected him.

Skooks There are many issues involved in feminism.i.e political,economic and social rights; domestic and sexual violence .
There are different categories of feminism, liberal.conservative and radical being among them.
Obviously one does not have to be a female to be a feminist.The protection of feminine rights bodes well for the protection of rights for ALL including men.

Romney has a puncher’s chance of WINNING.If BHO doesn’t show me he wants it,and will FIGHT for it I’ll vote for Mitt who obviously wants it badly.

@Richard Wheeler:

When we are married, they do. They tell us we aren’t allowed to put it next to another woman!

Seriously, the dems pushing feminism have a twisted view of women’s rights. So twisted in fact, it’s actually anti-women’s rights. Not to mention their affirmative action views based on gender sure say they think women are inferior.

Thank you Rich, I consider myself a feminist, but not the type of feminist who life is dictated on the sanctity of Roe v. Wade. Women need to be taught they have value and that they can accomplish many things on their own. Testosterone will always make men stronger with larger muscles, but that amounts to a hill of beans in a real scrap. It is the one with a plan or strategy, who won’t quit no matter how grim the situation, the one who says there is plenty of time for dying, I want to live. It is the gravel in the gut and the spit in the eye that allows people to overcome impossible odds. I know women are capable of outstanding feats of endurance and strength, and I want to impress upon them that fact in my future writing. Feminism doesn’t mean walking around in shapeless clothing with a scowl on your face, it means taking advantage of the innate features of the feminine mind and psyche and using the mind for more than displaying an new hair style.

Skooks Very well said. I totally agree with one caveat. I oppose the overthrow of Roe vs Wade as much as I would oppose overthrow of Brown vs Board of Education.

Note I find it amusing people on here are not denigrating the polls that now show Romney slightly ahead lol

@Richard Wheeler: Hey Rich I hope all is well with you. I have a slightly different perspective and that is I don’t tell woman what to do with their bodies and they don’t tell me to pay for it. Also, how many woman have been needlessly murdered by abortion?

@Richard Wheeler:

One is a D Kos poll. Now perhaps they did it to motivate their base, but I doubt it. As for the other ones, if the samples are realistic, then they are more likely to be accurate.
Example, some poll gave obama a 1 point lead over Romney. Too bad it had a D+9 sample. Not only did they sample more dems, the percentage of Reps was lower than the 2004 (or 2006) GOP turnout! So double whammy/reason to call bogus.

Common Sense No question woman were at much greater risk in years before Roe vs Wade. You say it’s o.k. for a woman to have an abortion if you don’t pay. I can agree with that.

H.R. You say Polls were phony and skewed by Dems. when BHO was ahead and now the Dems are skewing the polls as a loss to motivate their base.—HUH?

#9 – Excellent Skook. Yes, you gave us a view into your ‘future writing’ not too long ago…with “Women Of Substance” – excellent…

@Hard Right:

Seriously, the dems pushing feminism have a twisted view of women’s rights. So twisted in fact, it’s actually anti-women’s rights. Not to mention their affirmative action views based on gender sure say they think women are inferior.

What “affirmative action” views based on gender? You consider attempts to require by law that women be paid equally to men for the same work to be affirmative action? The fact of the matter is that mockery and scorn for feminism, or the the cliche of dowdy “feminist”, is very much common in America today, with the typical reason being that feminists already received the rights they wanted, so they should just go away. Human history stretches back millennia and in the most advanced country on Earth women 0nly received full voting rights less than 100 years ago. American women are paid 77 cents to the dollar of their male counterparts. Women continue to face an assault on their reproductive rights. The idea that any feminist preference for the 21st century Democratic party is somehow mindless, or motivated by greed for free things, is absurd when one takes into account which party has supported their causes (whether or not you agree with them).

The push for women’s rights is even more crucial when one expands the scope worldwide. The Taliban shot a 14 year old girl in the head in Pakistan for daring to want to go to school and blogging about it. This girl is a pioneer of a nascent feminist movement that may one day sweep the middle east. What she’s done will do more harm to the Taliban in the long term than anything militarily we in the West can do. Public opinion has turned on them to an unprecedented level. So this is what is mocked when one glibly mocks the ongoing struggle for gender equality. And the status quo that’s defended, in terms of world history, is the blink of an eye removed from what the Taliban are defending.

Nickolas Kristoff had, perhaps, the best take I’ve read on this tragedy and it’s implications. I highly recommend reading the entire thing.

the global struggle for gender equality is the paramount moral struggle of this century, equivalent to the campaigns against slavery in the 19th century and against totalitarianism in the 20th century.

Here in the United States, it’s easy to dismiss such incidents as distant barbarities, but we have a blind spot for our own injustices — like sex trafficking. Across America, teenage girls are trafficked by pimps on Web sites like Backpage.com, and then far too often they are treated by police as criminals rather than victims. These girls aren’t just expelled from school; they’re arrested.

Jerry Sandusky’s sex abuse of boys provoked outrage. But similar abuse is routine for trafficked girls across America, and local authorities often shrug with indifference in the same way some people at Penn State evidently did.

We also don’t appreciate the way incidents like the attack on Tuesday in Pakistan represent a broad argument about whether girls deserve human rights and equality of education. Malala was a leader of the camp that said “yes.” After earlier aspiring to be a doctor, more recently she said she wanted to be a politician — modeled on President Obama, one of her heroes — to advance the cause of girls’ education.

Pakistan is a country that has historically suffered from timid and ineffectual leadership, unwilling to stand up to militants. Instead, true leadership emerged from a courageous 14-year-old girl.

Just the title of this Post makes me want to GAG….and so does the mere though of Obama of all people ‘defining’ anyone…let alone women…

It is known Obama himself looks at women as… no, wait a minute….let me rephrase this …. It is a know fact! Obama the Elitist looks at EVERYONE as Intellectually Inferior…..
…and so does his elitist ilk..

So ‘my’ question would be… what’s the difference??

@Tom:
I’m proud of you, tom, for taking a wider view of women and girl’s rights than just the narrow American woman parochial view we get from feminists here.
Over 1.5 BILLION people are in a religion where women are treated as property.
Their entire bodies are considered to be sex organ and therefore must be covered.
Their lives are ruled, first by their father, then by their husband.
While men can go to a doctor, go to a ball game, get a divorce, these women cannot.
All a man need do is repeat, “I divorce you,’ three times and he is divorced.
But girls as young as 10 have to jump through legal and religious hoops to possibly get divorced.
That 14-year old girl who was shot in the head had a warning that the koran ordered the hit on her.
Pakistan’s Taliban, “The Quran says that people propagating against Islam and Islamic forces would be killed.” And they added, “Shariah (Islamic law) says that even a child can be killed if he is propagating against Islam.”
I wonder why American feminists and their Muslim friends in CAIR never tell us about THAT part of the koran?
Chickens?
Sadly not alone.
Pakistan’s government officials have refrained from publicly criticising the Taliban by name over the attack, in what critics say is a lack of resolve against extremism.

@Richard Wheeler:

You say it’s o.k. for a woman to have an abortion if you don’t pay. I can agree with that.

If you agree with liberal/progressives, and Obamacare, then you don’t really agree with what CommonSense stated, Rich. Liberal/progressives want the state to pay for everything that a person cannot pay for themselves, including women’s “healthcare”.

If you are for women’s rights to “choose”, as well as people’s rights to the fruits of their own labor, then you aren’t a liberal/progressive. Unfortunately, the Democratic party itself has moved so far leftward that liberal/progressivism is the norm, not the fringe. This is evidenced by Pelosi still holding the reigns in the House and Reid still holding court in the Senate, as well as the near unanimous support within the Democratic party for the re-election of Obama.

J.G. Obviously my problem is with a Republican leadership that does not believe in a woman’s right to choice. I personally find that as offensive as you find Pelosi and Reid. Would also suggest Repubs.stay out of people’s bedrooms.
I might be O.K. with the 20% tax rate reduction if Mitt would be clearer on what he would cut to replace lost revenue.
My question is does Common Sense really believe what he said?

@Richard Wheeler:

Rich, according to the Guttmacher Institute, an arm of Planned Parenthood, 99+% of all abortions are due to choices a woman made prior to conception, with rape, and incest, accounting for less than 1% of all abortions.

No one is saying a woman doesn’t have a choice, but pregnancy is no more a “choice” than a hangover is a choice. It is the result of a choice that was already made. Drinking to excess generally causes a hangover, just as unprotected sex, often results (causes) in a pregnancy. The word “choice” was created by pro-abortionists to make it sound like a civil rights issue.

I am always curious why men support abortion? Is it because that absolves them from being responsible for the results of an action they willfully participated in? I am also amazed that so many people who support a woman’s right to have her child murdered while in the womb have never actually seen an abortion. Once you do, you will never, NEVER again support that henious procedure.

As to Republicans staying out of people’s bedrooms, well, it seems to me that when you support abortion, and gay marriage, it is because you are inviting the Republicans into your bedroom. You can’t say “Stay out of my bedroom” and then demand that laws be changed because of what you do in that bedroom.

@Skookum: Per Skook, “Women need to be taught they have value and that they can accomplish many things on their own.”

And whom should do the teaching—men?

@Liberal1 (Objectivity):

Lib1, missing the point as usual.

Today’s woman is taught, from a variety of sources, including women(such as those on The View), that they are victims of “evil” conservatives, and men in general. They are taught to value superficial imaging of themselves, over the content of their character, over their intelligence, and over what people should really value in life.

When Skook says “Women need to be taught they have value and that they can accomplish many things on their own.”, he doesn’t mean women need to be taught how to act and live by MEN. He means that society needs to change how women are valued and treated, which leads to young women being taught that they are more than a collection of sex-parts, or political pawns to be used in gaining votes by plying the emotions of people.

Liberal/progressives view women as just that. Political pawns to be used to wrest control from private citizens that government uses to keep people, in general, slaves to the government machine. And you, Lib1, help in perpetuating that particular aspect of women by continuing to vote for the people that use women as throw-away assets, discarded when their usefulness dies away, or is not needed.

If there ever was a real “war on women”, liberal/progressives are the ones who have perpetuated it since they first started gaining political power.

@retire05: You’ve got everything backwards. Pro-life was actually a term created by proponents to call anti-abortion something that didn’t sound like anti-choice. Your psychology of men supporting abortion as a political issue has little to do with their sexual attitudes; pro-choice women are just as supportive—if not more so—of abortion as men. (Most women enjoy sex as much as men, and many do not want to be burdened with the consequences.) Just because having a hang-over when a person gets drunk doesn’t stop them from taking an Alka-Seltzer to relieve themselves of an ensuing head and stomach ache. Supporting abortion and gay rights is not intended to invite Republicans into the bedroom, but to keep them out. Conservative ideas are simple backwards (pardon the pun).

@johngalt: I think it’s a little arrogant for a man to speak to “women’s need to be taught or learn to value themselves”. Where do you get off telling women—as a general class of individuals—what they believe or should believe about themselves. You sound like a patriarchal preacher.

@Nan G: Sounds like you’re talking about Fundamentalist Christianity to me—for the most part.

@Liberal1 (Objectivity):

Where do you liberal/progressives get off on continuously telling women they are nothing but sex-objects and victims? Because that is exactly what the liberal/progressive media tells them they are. Whether it’s movies, tv shows, political talk shows, reality television, etc.

I, personally, don’t even pretend to attempt telling a woman what she should be, but you liberal/progressives do it daily. Hypocrite much?

@Liberal1 (Objectivity):
If that’s what you see, then you know neither any Muslims nor any fundamentalist Christians.
The Bible lays out clear procedures for either a husband OR a wife to get a divorce.

And I doubt there is one country on earth afraid of being critical of Christianity, if its members are out of line inside their borders.
But there are many countries afraid to make policies that go against their Muslim populations EVEN if that means all the other parts of their populations suffer!

@Richard Wheeler:

Would you like woman defining what you can do with your body?

Were you raised without a mother?

@Skook:
I’m glad you pointed out your own creation of female characters in your writings, Skook.
From the segments I have read I always admired your women.
They weren’t there for window dressing.
Obama has failed to put his money where his mouth is on women’s pay for equal jobs.

[D]ata from the Obama White House’s 2011 annual report show that female staffers there earn a median salary 18 percent lower than that of men.

And nearly four years ago, at the height of the 2008 election season, Scripps Howard syndicated columnist Deroy Murdock wrote that female staffers in Obama’s U.S. Senate office, too, were shortchanged.

“Obama’s average male employee earned $54,397,” Murdock determined from online Senate salary records. But the future president’s “30 female employees … [earned] $45,152, on average.”

@Liberal1 (Objectivity):

I think it’s a little arrogant for a man to speak to “women’s need to be taught or learn to value themselves”. Where do you get off telling women—as a general class of individuals—what they believe or should believe about themselves. You sound like a patriarchal preacher.

This has to be one of the most ignorant statements I have ever read. Are you saying a man should not teach his daughter to respect and value herself? Does this also mean that women should no longer teach their sons manners and how to respect a lady? I take it you think we should just take our daughters to Planned Parenthood when they turn a certain age and attend a month-long indoctrination. I know you think of yourself as some intellectual thinker, but honestly, your critical thinking skills are sorely lacking.

@Richard Wheeler:

Obviously my problem is with a Republican leadership that does not believe in a woman’s right to choice. I personally find that as offensive as you find Pelosi and Reid.

I think you already know my response is going to be that decisions like Roe v Wade are better left to the States. And at the States it should be left to the communities. I personally would not vote to ban abortion, I just think it would lead to more deaths. But I also think that far to many people consider abortion nothing more than belated birth control, just like way too many people now belief surgery is now the answer to weight control.
There is no reason why this cannot be debated legitimately by both sides. As soon as someone from the right says we need to have a discussion about abortion, democrats and women’s groups start screaming about the invasion of lady-parts and war on women.
And you made a point earlier about adoption. Why is is so much easier to fly to another country to adopt a child than it is to adopt a child here in the States? We should be ashamed of ourselves for that alone.

“A person is known by the company he keeps” – proverb

When Obama keeps company with the likes of people who demean women, and promotes those relationships, then this is how we judge him. Not by his words to the contrary. Especially not when much of what he says is either full-on lies, or half-truths.

As well, historical examples themselves, of the unequal pay Obama and his campaigns and staffs issue between men and women, clarify the picture further. That is, a picture of a man who will say damn near anything, and offer damn near anything, to prop up a false portrayal of his own viewpoints on women.

The sad part is that those worshiping the “messiah” actually believe in the fake Obama, even when presented with facts to the contrary.

Skook I absolutely agree with you re. weak men controlling women through abuse.COWARDLY—- This is NOT a political issue.—– Roe v Wade does not allow for abortion after viability of the fetus— around 100 days, though it varies. Men should not be allowed to tell women you CAN’T. That is abusive.
Aqua and I agree adoption should be easier and an option explained to pregnant women. As stated,abortion should not be an alternative to proper birth control—here education is critical. In fact is anything more important than an EXCELLANT and inexpensive education for all our children?

btw Some of BHO’S favorites are Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Springsteen, Dylan,and Earth Wind and Fire.
Mac’s favorite was ABBA—nuf said.
Exit question Doesn’t this “worship the messiah” meme sound foolish?

@Richard Wheeler:

In fact is anything more important than an excellant yet inexpensive EDUCATION for all our children.

Couldn’t agree more, in fact, I call it HOME. At least that’s where it starts. And I don’t want the federal government contradicting what I teach my children. At the same time, I don’t want to contradict what you teach your children. School boards are local and should hold much more sway on what we teach our children in school than the federal government.

@Richard Wheeler:

Exit question Doesn’t this “worship the messiah” meme sound foolish?

When these people are presented with lie after lie after lie by Obama, and the facts supporting the claims that Obama is, in fact, lying, and yet, they still support him, what would you call it?

As well, I’d say that it only sounds foolish to those who cannot admit to making a mistake in voting for Obama in the first place. The man has done nothing whatsoever during his nearly four years to merit any kind of loyalty. And it is precisely because of this inability to admit to being wrong that leads to me stating that people worship Obama.

@Aqua:

Agree completely, Aqua.

And a weakened, or non-existent Dept. of Education would only strengthen the education we can give to our children.

‘weakened or non existant Dept. of Education” Let’s be serious. How many working families have the time,energy or abilities to teach our children at home.
This growing animosity towards our teachers is a disturbing trend.

Exit question Is the plan to teach creationism to the kids? lol

@Richard Wheeler:

‘weakened or non existant Dept. of Education” Let’s be serious. How many working families have the time,energy or abilities to teach our children at home.

Not saying they should be home-schooled, we’re saying the education decisions should be made at home. Local school boards, not the federal government.

Exit question Is the plan to teach creationism to the kids? lol

This always comes up when arguing education with the left. It’s like trying to have a discussion about abortion. I believe in evolution, the science is indisputable. What is in dispute when it comes to evolution is the theory of common descent. It’s a great debate, one I’ve had with friends many times. Intelligent design, creationism, common descent, ancient aliens. Why can’t things be debated in school? They were when I was in school.

@Richard Wheeler:

This growing animosity towards our teachers is a disturbing trend.

Where did I ever display animosity towards the teachers, Rich?

Just because I see the Dept. of Ed as a waste of tax dollars and government assets doesn’t mean that I don’t support teachers, Rich.

Exit question Is the plan to teach creationism to the kids? lol

That question doesn’t even deserve an answer, Rich, because it has nothing to do with what I stated.

If you hadn’t used a quote from my posting, I’d think that you were replying to someone else. That’s how little your post had to do with what I said.
