Well, this was just too much for Eric Boehlert of Media Matters. He called them gutless. Well, not technically. He said that they have no guts.

I opined early on regarding this issue that whatever came out from the WH ”leaker” needed only to be declared by Obama as NOT a SECRET and it would then be legal.
Damaging to our military.
Putting our special forces at higher risk.
But ”legal.”
Obama has law training.
At one point in his life he got a law degree and passed the bar.
He knows how to skirt liability for his ”leaker” whenever he needs to do so.

@Nan G: Notice how they attacked the individuals but didn’t offer any proof to back their attacks. There was no mention of Chris Kyle and other decorated SEALS who made the same statements and who aren’t seeking office. The facts are that the leaks occurred on Obama’s watch and the one thing they had in common is that they made him look good. The most logical place they came from was the administration with or without the knowledge of Obama. Even “swiftboater” Dianne Feinstein said that before she had a good talking to. There weren’t any references to the “investigations” and why for some reason they haven’t been able to come up with anything when this should be a very simple case.
As for Obama simple stating he declassifed the information, that is most likely what will happen but since he publicly stated that no one in his administration was behind the leaks, it will make him out to be a liar or incompetent because he will look like someone who doesn’t have any control over his inner circle. He would have been a lot better off had he not made the statement.
