Been awhile since we had an open thread up but I figured the news that Reid is a pedophile is a good opportunity to put one up.
Of course we have no evidence he is one but the burden of proof is still on Harry Reid to disprove this claim.
As you know by now, when baseless but serious charges are laid against a powerful political figure, it is the responsibility of the maligned individual to prove their innocence.
With that understanding, I requested comment from Harry Reid’s office on the swirling charges that someone said they heard from someone that Harry Reid is pederast.

An account in memory of Harry Reid’s victims, both unknown and known.
The American public is entitled to know whether its Majority Leader is, or is not, or likely is, a pederast.
If Harry Reid isn’t a pederast, why is everyone saying he is? People don’t just make up vicious smears for political advantage.
Even if there’s only a one in three chance Harry Reid is a pederast, are we really going to let that one child suffer?
If Harry Reid isn’t a pederast, how come no DC liberals ever ask him to babysit?
The issue here isn’t whether Harry Reid is, or isn’t, or is a pederast. The question is only “What are we going to do about it?”
I’m not saying Harry Reid is a pederast. That’s for the courts to say.
I’m saying there are children located in what I call “The Danger Zone” around Harry Reid. Do we gamble their innocence so lightly?
I have no proof that Harry Reid is guilty of pederasty, but can we at least keep kids out of the Harry Reid Molestation Perimeter?
You can’t convict him in the press; obviously, this is America. But can we at least require him to wear a big hat that says LIKELY PEDERAST?
Harry Reid’s defenders say, “You can’t convict a man of pederasty based only on him being a pederast.” I find their position untenable.
I think the important question is not, as some ask, “Is Harry Reid a pedophile?” The important question is “Why do DC Democrats enable him?”

Harry Reid owes a full accounting on behalf of all he’s killed.
We need to begin petitioning a statue commemorating the victims of Harry Reid, including all the unknown ones.

Why does Harry Reid not support the Victims of Harry Reid Memorial?
If Harry Reid has nothing to hide, why hasn’t he contacted authorities? Why hasn’t he pointed out where he buried his victims bodies?
If Harry Reid didn’t kill those boys he victimized, then how come they’re not around to testify against him? Think about it.
I can’t say if these charges are true. Only the evidence and his countless victims can say that.
Let me just ask one legitimate question, containing no unfair implications whatsoever: Why does Harry Reid own gardening tools?
Why does he own trashbags? Why does he have a car with a trunk? These are reasonable questions that he must answer.
Does Harry Reid, or does he not, own any rope, twine, or extension cords easily used as ligatures and bonds?
Harry Reid says he’s a big fan of baseball and car racing. Like a lot of young boys are. I guess that’s just “another coincidence,” huh?

Harry Reid is a Mormon.
Maybe he knows exactly how the tax code works when you tithe to your church.

Because we believe in due process and the presumption of innocence, for now please refer to him simply as “alleged pedophile Harry Reid.”
I have verified and solid proof that what Harry Reid has done with young boys is legal in some countries.
It’s impossible to imagine that this could be proven without evidence.
On the other hand, it’s conceivable that if evidence existed to support the proposition, it could be true.
Without evidence proving its truth, therefore, we are left merely with evidence that the proposition exists and is awaiting evidence of its truth.
Why won’t he deny this obvious evidence? For shame.
Whaddaya mean “no evidence” evidence Reid is a pederast? He certainly looks like one – which according to Reid’s Law of Accusations means he must buy national TV time and conclusively demonstrate that he is not a chickenhawk. Certainly he doesn’t object to being held to the same standard he has repeatedly imposed on others.
I have waited and waited, and still no sign that the aforementioned evidence has been refuted.
I am now inclined to think that the preponderance of evidence points to a preponderance of evidence in this regard. Absolutely disgraceful.
And let me be clear: the evidence is clear that there is evidence that if the evidence were available, it would conclusively prove Reid’s disgusting behavior. Horrific. And loathsome. Senator, resign now.
Questions for Harry:
Have you ever seen a grown man naked?
Have you ever been in a Turkish prison?
Do you like movies about gladiators?
I don’t know if Harry Reid is a pederast. However, there are two simple ways he can establish his innocence. The police can use a polygraph machine, as well as a penile plethysmograph, to establish his innocence. I can’t reveal the source of the allegation of Senator Reid’s pederasty, but he himself can lay this matter to rest. He needs to report to the local police station and have them begin testing. If he refuses to clear his name, the nation can draw their own conclusions as to his guilt or innocence. Just like Governor Romney and the tax returns.

If Senator Harry Man Love Reid uses the code word “juvenile” to deny the allegations against him, we’ll all know what that means, won’t we?
This reminds me of the blowback against the ESPN college football analyst, Craig James, when his tv commentary, regarding an incident with his son at Texas Tech, got the head football coach fired, with virtually no evidence against him.
Football fans across the nation reacted with a campaign to smear Craig James’ name by linking him with killing 5 hookers while he played at SMU. Unfair? So was what happened to Texas Tech’s coach.
As for Reid, I’ll wait patiently until he proves to us, once and for all, that he didn’t pull a Sandusky with all of those poor children.

It’s called “making a point”, Rich. Reid’s accusations were so over the top that they deserve the scorn they are getting.
None of us really believe what we have accused Reid of. We could have just as easily accused him of sleeping with his undocumented maid, or being a silent partner of the Bunny Ranch, or being a drug kingpin, etc. The point is, it’s ridiculous of Reid to make an accusation about someone and then demand that they prove themselves innocent. That runs completely counter to our Constitution, and being that Reid is a sitting US Senator makes that an even more egregious offense towards another US citizen.
And of course our comments are “stupid”, Rich. That’s kind of the whole point here, about Reid.

All Romney has to do is release more of his tax returns—to show that Reid is a fool. But he probably needs the time to ‘retroactively’ clean up his tax records—like he did in the Massachusetts’ gubernatorial race (and Bain Capital).

If Reid wants to make unfounded accusations, then he opens himself up to tactics such as this. You jumped all over JG for being McCarthy-like for supporting the letter sent by Bachmann, et al that has caused the Huma Abedin story. You base this on unfounded accusations, yet Bachmann at least has a report cited in the letter and lists her sources. Reid says he “heard from someone,” and the left is saying all Romney has to do is show the taxes and this will die. Which is more McCarthy-like. There are many stupid and foolish members in congress, on both sides. But taking the floor of the Senate and laying accusations against a presidential nominee based on hearsay is borderline criminal. If Mitch McConnell took the floor of the Senate tomorrow and stated that someone from the NBA Commissioner’s office called him and told him he knows President Obama was having an affair with an NBA player, it would be no different than what Harry Reid just did.

I know how well the Mormons are expected to uphold the Constitution and preserve America’s liberty. The Book of Mormon shows ancient prophets predicted that our founding fathers would be inspired by God.
How Harry Reid can remain a Mormon and take the stances he takes in politics is appalling. I cannot understand it. Furthermore, why do so many people criticize Mitt Romney for being Mormon, and then turn around and embrace Harry Reid without making an issue of Reid’s membership in the LDS Church?

For the same reasons the same people criticize Evangelical Christians for being Christian and then turn around and embrace Barrack Obama when Barrack professes to be some sort of Christian. I’d guess that in their hearts they don’t really believe Reid and Obama are faithful to their professed faiths. I expect that they are confident that both men will betray their professed faiths in the interest of progressive political ideology as a matter of course. But the Bureau of Labor Statistics jobs reports for each month tells totally different numbers!
Like, Jan 2012:
Obama says 277,000 jobs were added.
But the Bureau of Labor Statistics jobs report for January indicates that only 243,000 jobs were added.
Or June 2010.
Obama’s graph would have you believe that the economy grew by 92,000 jobs, while
the BLS jobs report for the same period shows a decline of 125,000 jobs!
And before Obama took office all the errors run in the opposite direction.
According to Obama’s graph, the economy bled 294,000 jobs in August of 2008.
The BLS report for the same period, which shows a loss of only 84,000 jobs.
