Obama grants amnesty but not trust
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. –Does a fork or dinner knife pose an unacceptable danger to President Barack Obama?
One wouldn’t think so, given the hundreds of lunches and dinners he’s attended ranging from state dinners to political fundraisers to run-of-the-mill stops on the rubber-chicken circuit.
However, at one such lunch Friday afternoon, guests heard an unusual announcement that they needed to hand over their silverware for security reasons.
“It’s very important that you use your utensils as soon as possible,” National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials board member Raquel Regalado told about 1000 delegates at the group’s annual conference.
Regalado hurried the diners to finish up their salads and pre-cut chicken breasts, saying that the Secret Service required that there be no knives at the tables and that the forks be rounded up before Obama entered the room.
“As you know, we’re having another speaker and there is some Secret Service involved. So there’s a reason why there’s no knives at your table and the forks will be collected. … And I’m not joking,” Regalado told the audience in a ballroom at Disney’s Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World. “So, like the good Hispanic mother I’m here to tell you to please, eat your lunch.”
A Secret Service spokesman confirmed that the agency made the request, but said such requirements are common at large events where the president speaks at about the same time people are dining.

“The Secret Service coordinates this process with staff and host committee to ensure tables are cleared of material that may be deemed hazardous prior to the arrival of the president,” Special Agent Max Milien told POLITICO. “Any implication that this was unique for this event is completely inaccurate.”

Still, there are a wide variety of breakfasts, lunches and dinners the president attends where diners still have the full complement of silverware as Obama speaks.
I’ll bet you Spielberg, along with every Hollywood other celebrity Obama pals around with, got to keep his knife and fork at dinner.

I don’t know why the apparent inconsistency in which venue gets forks and knives and which doesn’t in the presence of the PotUS, but really John?
The problem I personally have with this (to the extent that it rises to a level of qualification for being an issue at all) is that anything can be used as a weapon when you have the mindset to do harm to someone. I can bury a ballpoint pen into your eye socket or stab a sharpened pencil into your jugular if I had the idea to do so. Is hot coffee not allowed in proximity of the president? A metal coffee pot with a sharp lip? Maybe wounding or disfiguring him isn’t as grave a concern as the potential of dinner guests to cannibalize him.
There isn’t enough information here to determine who’s decision, how frequent the practice and under what types of venues, and whether the practice was also done by prior Secret Service leadership and for previous presidents.

Spielberg is a small person, but he has those stereotypical Jewish eyes that are always looking about, I assume for a profit, but underestimating someone’s ability with a fork, because they are small, can be a dreadful mistake. I ask you to think back and rely on your anecdotal experiences and visualize all the short fat people you have known. If we step through the looking glass, a big man with a fork can also be intimidating; you have probably known fr more big fat people in your lifetime, but no one dares to question a big fat man’s ability with a fork.
I think to get a true perspective on this situation, we should refer to my legendary friend of the 17th Century, a big man, who was handy with a fork, who said immodestly, “The world’s my oyster.”

I have not heard of any other meeting where people had to surrender their eating utensils. Is it only Hispanics that have to do so? They are such fools and as barry says being useful idiots.
Assault weapons were allowed across the southern border. Knives, forks,( plastic or otherwise), not so much. Does the chicken have to be rubberized? Shoes? Tomatoes?
Are pitch forks, ladders, torches, tar, feathers, etc. allowed?
What do the Latinos want, to curry to their wishes and therefore their votes? Can we trust those guys?
In all seriousness, they may have had a threat and felt it was a prudent measure or maybe Michele is serious about this overeating hype.

Forks, hell. I’m offended that there is such a thing as the “National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials”. Those people are supposed to represent their constituents, not some ethnic group. Same for the Congressional Black Caucasians, as Rush calls them. 😉
Reverend, the administration thinks so; they are opening the door in Arizona, but don’t cruise down the Boundary Road in BC while driving a Mercedes and back up because you passed the correct driveway, you will have a black US helicopter on the hood of your car. Obviously, it’s those damn Canadians, Obama is worried about. Make a mistake on that border and they will light you up, my friend. Take it from an old time border runner, that Northern border is a dangerous place to hang out. They take security very seriously up there, there’s so many non-minorities in Canada looking to make their great escape.

I have taken upon myself, a self-defined mission that requires me to be as politically incorrect as possible today; having relatives on the other side of both borders makes it much easier to accomplish this noble endeavor. Since the name Skookum is a Jewish name from the lost tribe, I have everything covered.
This will not cost Latino votes. People who favor Obama because they think they stand to benefit materially from another Obama term will ignore this and any other insulting thing his people do, no matter what. Seriously, find a “Latino activist” anywhere who isn’t a Marxist and wealth redistributionist above all other considerations. Where is “La Raza” on the Fast and Furious” program that ignored Mexican sovereignty and killed 300 Mexican citizens? Nowhere. They’re sticking to their sugar daddy the Democratic Party.
And of course, people who have already seen through Obama won’t need this story to make up their minds.

and will demonstrate their low interest in this AMERICA who receive them to share the bounty of this NATION among other citizens, which they cannot separate themselves from what ever happen in all part of the STATES, they must look very closely at the problems hurting now, because of the leader in power now, in a GOVERNMENT spending AMERICA ON FOREIGN LANDS instead of taking care
of this AMERICA in great danger of perils.

The US Park Service reported that some $28,000 worth of items were returned after the theft was reported in the press. There was also a substantial amount of damage done to White House equipment such as computers, fax machines, etc., as well as theft that Clinton later blamed on “irresponsible staffers.”
