The issue of Barack Obama’s birthplace has been simmering for a long time. It has been ridiculed by the left incessantly, as well as by some on the right. The seemingly sensible course is to deny that Obama was born anywhere else but in Hawaii, but as is typical of Obama, nothing is as it initially appears. There are questions that need answers.
Breitbart has disclosed that Obama’s literary agent published a booklet that describes a young Barack Obama as being born in Kenya:
Breitbart News has obtained a promotional booklet produced in 1991 by Barack Obama’s then-literary agency, Acton & Dystel, which touts Obama as “born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.”
The booklet, which was distributed to “business colleagues” in the publishing industry, includes a brief biography of Obama among the biographies of eighty-nine other authors represented by Acton & Dystel.
It also promotes Obama’s anticipated first book, Journeys in Black and White–which Obama abandoned, later publishing Dreams from My Father instead.
All too predictably, the media immediately leaped to defend Obama, asserting this was some sort of oversight:

Conservative-leaning Breitbart.com on Tuesday published a copy of a promotional booklet from Obama’s former literary agency. According to a brief biography in the 1991 booklet, Obama was “born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii,” fueling fire to the idea that the president is not a natural-born American citizen.
As New York magazine noted, the article caused a stir in conservative circles, drawing commentary from the Drudge Report and other popular websites.
However, the woman who wrote Obama’s biography in the pamphlet said Thursday that she had misidentified Obama’s place of birth.
“This was nothing more than a fact-checking error by me — an agency assistant at the time,” Miriam Goderich, who worked for the literary agency Acton & Dystel, told Yahoo News. “There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii.”
So the left would have us believe that this woman allowed this error to fester for 20 plus years. Saner heads might question why this remained uncorrected all this time. Maybe she didn’t know Obama had been elected President? From where did she get the notion that Obama could have been born in Kenya?
But then another “Born in Kenya” account emerges- this one from the AP in 2004.

Kenyan-born US Senate hopeful, Barrack Obama, appeared set to take over the Illinois Senate seat after his main rival, Jack Ryan, dropped out of the race on Friday night amid a furor over lurid sex club allegations.
The allegations that horrified fellow Republicans and caused his once-promising candidacy to implode in four short days have given Obama a clear lead as Republicans struggled to fetch an alternative.
Ryan’s campaign began to crumble on Monday following the release of embarrassing records from his divorce. In the records, his ex-wife, Boston Public actress Jeri Ryan, said her former husband took her to kinky sex clubs in Paris, New York and New Orleans.
OK, that was from 2004- a long time ago. Another mistake, no doubt. But then here it is again. Dystel and Goederich, the successor literary agent to the original Acton and Dystel, listed Barack Obama as born in Kenya until April of 2007.

It strains credulity to think that Obama was entirely unaware of these things- he is aware of absolutely everything that concerns him.
After reading the excerpt from Maraniss’ book Barack Obama: The Story a couple of things stand out. Being a narcissist is nothing new for Obama:
Obama was the central character in his letters, in a self-conscious way, with variations on the theme of his search for purpose and self-identity.
His characters are designed for a specific purpose:
Like many characters in the memoir, he introduced her to advance a theme, another thread of thought in his musings about race.
And there are at least three pronunciations of “Barack”:
She called him Bahr-ruck, with the accent on the first syllable, and a trill of the r’s. Not Bear-ick, as the Anglophile Kenyans pronounced it, and not Buh-rock, as he would later be called, but Bahr-ruck. She said that is how he pronounced it himself, at least when talking to her.
“Dreams” is not really a memoir, but is largely a fiction. It is David Maraniss’ opinion that Obama’s book Dreams from my Father “should not be read as rigorous factual history.”
It’s all very peculiar. We have learned that Obama’s description of his former girlfriend Genevieve Cook is not real but a composite of women he knew. It seems that we know little of the real Barack Obama. People are composites. Everything is “compressed.” Obama claimed to have been born in Kenya. Why?
Clearly, being seen as Kenyan-born because it offered him some advantage. The media has had zero interest in why. Obama got a full scholarship to Occidental College in LA but Obama had steadfastly refused to release his college records. Was his scholarship awarded on the basis of Obama being born in Kenya? Was that the same vehicle he used to gain admission to Columbia and then to Harvard? Obama has freely mixed fantasy with fact his entire life. Was he born in Kenya or was he a fraud? This would be a compelling reason to secret those college records.

A very important point, often overlooked, is that Obama being ”born in Kenya,” made perfect sense when he was pushing his first idea for a book: Journeys in Black and White–which Obama abandoned.
What would ”Journeys in Black and White,” have been about?
Obama’s Kenyan white colonial roots, Kenya’s black break from colonialism, Obama’s travels to the white America and his dealings inside America with a white power class.
His entire ”narrative” falls to crap if he’s not from Kenya!
Thus, he dropped that pretentious idea of a book that would have slammed white America as ”colonial” like old Kenya.
He opted for a ”dream” book that allowed him to create a personal history out of whole cloth.
Then, if you read it or listen to him read it a,d compare that to his REAL speaking style, he had a ghost-writer create it based loosely on his family stories and composites.
Yes, seems more opportunistic to me than anything else (ie., when it suits him to be from Kenya, he’s from Kenya. When it suits him to be from Chicago, or born in Hawaii…he’s from there). This seems to be common among democrats these days (claiming heritage or birthright as it benefits them..including education, politically, socially, etc). ….see Elizabeth Warren.
One has to wonder how Obama managed to pay for not one, but three, tony university tuitions. His grandfather in Hawaii did not work, and his grandmother was the sole support of the family, working as a VP in a small bank, and the out-of-state tuition to any of those universities is really more than a single worker family would be able to pay, not to mention Obama’s living expenses.
When it comes to Harvard, in 2008, Percy Sutton, famous civil rights lawyer and the lawyer who defended Malcolm X after Malcolm X became a Muslim, stated on a NY1 interview that he was contacted by a very wealthy man, Khalid al Mansour (a radical named Don Warden who was one of the originators of the Black Panthers and who had converted to Islam) who gave financial advise to the richest prince in Saudi. Mansour was supposed to have told Sutton that the Saudi prince he represented was “very” interested in a young black man in Chicago, one Barack Obama, and wanted Sutton’s assistance in helping Obama get into Harvard.
Sutton told in the interview how he still had many friends at Harvard (and never having cut his ties to the Nation of Islam) so he wrote a letter of recommendation to Harvard in Obama’s half.
Sutton, who died in the last few years, was not a fool, nor did he have a tendancy to flourish a story. But the media promptly ignored Sutton’s claim in their desire to elect a blank slate on which they could project their socialist views.
In his book, Obama and Michelle the author states that it was common knowledge that Obama was not meeing his deadline for Dreams so Michelle gave what little manuscript there was, along with Obama’s interviews with his Kenyan family, to William Ayers.
My question is: if you are going to run for the highest office in this nation, and there was a question about your legitimacy to do that, why not instruct the State of Hawaii to release your birth certificate and be done with it? One of the things that bother me is the relative ease with which parents, in the ’60’s, could get a state birth certificate.

It is a simple riddle, and I am surprised at Doc for missing the key words. The contentious phrase is “natural born;” who are we to assume Obama was not born head first. If Obama slid down the birth canal feet first, like an airborne baby or if he was a Caesarian baby, he could hardly be considered a natural born citizen.

He should be able to bankrupt our country within four more years, will we still be discussing the obvious assumption, he was not legally entitled to hold his position. This election is about Obama’s dismal failure with the economy and jobs. It can be won if we focus on the economy and jobs. He has become the celebrity president to the brain numbed among us and to them, he is a cool dude, but his luster will begin to fade when people realize they may not be working in a few months and the cool dude’s economic policies are bankrupting the country. They don’t care if he was born in a toaster on a fishing boat in the South China Sea.

Or, if we desire to consider the possibility (considering his forged birth certificate & Selective Service card, the unprecedented order sealing of his records, the Connecticut Social Security number,) posed by the “birthers” which might be the truth: That Obama really was born in Kenya as his paternal grandmother said he was, and the MSM & Democratic party decided to ignore the Constitution in order to get their chosen one elected. At this point we only have verbal assertions that assume Obama was born a natural citizen. Yet there has been no real physical proof provided.
There surfaced in 2009 what has been purported, and certainly appears to be a Kenyan Birth Certificate, which includes a foot print of the baby “Barack Hussein Obama II”. It would be a simple matter to compare the baby’s footprint with adult Obama’s footprint. SCOPES claims that this is a fake, yet SCOPES also incorrectly claims that the digital “scan” of Obama’s “long form birth certificate” is genuine, (It is without question a forgery.) SCOPES has been in error before and refused to admit it, so until the Kenyan birth certificate can also be examined by a forensics expert, we simply do not know.
I propose that If Obama is later found not to have been eligible to serve as president, it will be a black eye for everyone who refused to “vett” him, including the establishment Republicans who meekly accepted an assumption that he was eligible. It should allow an out for a future Congress or Supreme Court invalidate every bill, Presidential Order, and Directive that Obama signed, due to the high crime of fraudulently violating the eligibility terms of office.
I of course continue to hold that we simply don’t know the truth one way or the other, and we are purposely being kept in the dark. More possible proof of Obama being born in Kenya. INS documents around the time of Obama’s birth shows a US certificate issued to one East African born child of a US citizen in 1961.

While I would more than welcome and consider any evidence presented here….there “has” been factual and objective evidence that Obama was born in Hawaii, and that includes the existence of a valid Hawaiian birth certificate, documentation from newspapers and other objective sources indicating his birth there at the time, and witness by state officials of Hawaii and the US gov that Obama’s birth was in Hawaii and the documents are valid/real. That kind of evidence doesn’t just go away because you change your argument/angle. To dispute that record…there will need to be evidence that changes it — ie., evidence that the newspaper ad was simply submitted by someone with intent to fake his birth place, evidence from the State of Hawaii that his birth record is not valid, evidence from the US gov or otherwise that there are conflicting legal records that exist. Despite all the talk/speculation, no one has produced such a document. And if you ask me, the chances are slim to none you ever will.
If you want to write that off as being a conspiracy to suppress that info, you’ll need proof of that too. Sorry, but that’s how it works.

When the present governor of Hawaii was running for the office, he promised he would show the certificate. He still hasn’t found it. The Arizona Secretary of State asked Hawaiian officials to confirm that they have Obama’s birth certificate, and the haven’t yet.
Several years ago Hawaii passed a law that the paper birth certificates can be destroyed, and they say they have destroyed them. They now are trying to pass a law so they can destroy the microfiche of the certificates. Why? If Obama is on one, wouldn’t they want to keep it to prove he was born there? No hospital claims that he was born there. No city claims that he lived there.
No state gives “scanned” copies of a birth certificate. They are copied from the microfiche. Try to find a “scanned” copy of ANYBODY’S birth certificate. Why go to all of the time and expense of finding the paper certificate, then “scanning” and printing it, when they can go to the microfiche and print from it?
I have been “neutral” about the birth certificate since I heard about it. I want facts before I decide anything. An open minded person has to admit that there are questions about the certificate, the Social Security card, and his Selective Service card.
One of the main things that convinced me that the certificate is a fake is that it was written with a word processor, not a typewriter. If you can’t see that fact, then you won’t believe any FACTS presented concerning the issue.
The fact that the whitehouse has ignored the sheriff from Arizona doesn’t prove anything, and anyone who suggests that it somehow does…is really stretching things.

This entire thing has been batted around enough to shake loose any loose bolts and there just isn’t anything that I can see out there to screw together. The document in question has been determined to be a valid birth certificate from the state of Hawaii by numerous sources…including the state of Hawaii and US gov vetting by FBI, etc., I personally have not seen anything that refutes that.
If someone comes up with a BC from Kenya that the Kenyan gov and the US gov say is legit…you let me know. Until then, all this is speculation at best. Feel free.

Father from Ireland/child homeland: Red herring in this context as we have Obama writing his bio for his publishing house stating he is Kenyan born which was used for over a decade in their marketing materials. Now we have Michelle talking about it being his homeland.
The Obamas created this narrative and they should answer. My conclusion is they’re charlatans and are whatever you need them to be for their advancement. Need to sell a book, I’m from Kenya. Need to run for pres, I’m from Hawaii.

You don’t call a country you are ashamed of, your homeland. I’m guessing that Obama wasn’t proud of the USA either, until he got elected.
My point is “homeland” could mean “heritage”, and the Obama’s are not the only people to use it that way. I’m Danish, by blood/heritage, but I was born here. And “yes”, the fact that Michelle, and Obama often have referred to his heritage in this way is all the “more” reason to suggest that this was the context that she meant it when she said it. …and “not” to suggest that he was “born” there. And yes, they are and have been opportunist in this regard…as it suits their needs.
As far as red herring goes…mossomo….this was YOUR point that Michelle’s statement somehow proved something (and it clearly does not). Take a look at that snopes link. It goes into great detail to debunk things that some of you still list as fact proving there is some questions that exist that simply do not exist. It’s like playing whack-a-mole. All of these questions were answered earlier in great detail and often with vetted documentation. All I’m suggesting is, to overcome that, you first have to prove that it’s wrong, or have the same level/kind of documentation and evidence to suggest something else. None of you have any of that. Nor does anybody else. And further, even the suggestion that he would get this far without such documentary evidence, etc., is extremely far fetched imho.
You are asking us to give up the most obvious, documented, simple answer…and believe the most fantastic, based on speculation and heresay with “zero” documentary evidence. It’s like the 9/11 truthers. It simply doesn’t matter how many people saw it, documented it, answered questions, etc.,…there will still be some who believe that it was conspiracy by the Bush family and rich people to start a war to make Haliburton rich and get oil. Hell, people even wrote books about it….I guess that makes it true? I’m not suggesting any of you are crazy, etc. I’m not trying to insult you or your intelligence. I have asked liberals different times, a simple question. Look at obama’s birth certificate. This is from his own web site:

Look closely at the letters and the numbers. The simple question is, “Was this document written with a typewrite or with a word processor?” Keep in mind that they didn’t use word processors at that time.
For those who still aren’t sure if it is fake, zoom in on windows 2 and 6c. Keep in mind that this is the document obama himself presented, not someone else. Notice how all of the windows on the left side curve down? Put a straight edge under the words in both windows. Notice how the words DON’T curve with the lines? These are only two of the many reasons that experts have declared obama’s birth certificate a fake, and most called it a lousy fake.
I won’t go into his using someone else’s Social Security number, or his fake Selective Service registration card (draft card).
Anyone who can look at the evidence and still say obama was born in the USA, are saying that they don’t care where he came from, as long as he keeps giving them the free stuff, or they are going to vote democratic no matter what, because it is a family tradition.

I thought I saved a video of obama saying he was from Kenya, but I can’t find it. When I searched the Internet, all of the videos with that title had been taken off of YouTube. That didn’t surprise me, since Google owns YouTube, and Google is a big supporter of obama.

It looks to me like the original was written with a manual typewriter. One tell is the capital O in Oahu, items 6b and 7b. The O is lifted slightly above the baseline that the remaining small case letters all rest on. This is indicative of a typewriter with a manual shift key. I can also see indications of fouled striker faces in need of cleaning. The small letter a, for example, is a bit gummed up. The top of it is almost a closed loop, rather than open on the left. That suggests a machine with an inked ribbon.
The whole thing is taking on a rather electronic look because the copy was produced from a digitalized image of the original. The scanning resolution was probably optimized to allow storage of enormous volumes of birth records. On top of that, the printed paper copy provided by the Health Department was then scanned a second time to make a PDF file. The resultant PDF then seems to have been reduced in size again for presentation in the linked article. That results in even more loss of detail and an increasingly digital appearance. Too much sharpening or contrast heightening have also been applied to the image.
At this point, people are probably going to believe whatever they want to believe. Maybe we can start all over again if Ted Cruz ever runs for president. Born in Alberta, Canada, with a Cuban father who may or may not have been an illegal alien…

You didn’t answer the question of the straight words in a curved window. How can that be?
The experts say the document is a scan of an original, then doctored. The un-doctored parts were filled in with a typewriter when the document was recorded.
Look at windows 11 and 12b. The tail of the letter “y” is under the letter to the left of it. You can tell this better by using the straight edge you didn’t use on the curved windows. Type written text can’t do that. Word processors do this to make the letters look like they are evenly spaced apart.
I challenge ANYONE to show me a scanned copy of ANYBODY’S birth certificate. The experts who examined it were all surprised that the document was in PDF format. That is very unusual. Copies for people are not made from the original. A copy is made of the document, and most, if not all states, put it on film, and make copies from the copy. I challenge anyone to show me a copy of ANYONE’S birth certificate that has the left side curved like obama’s is. They are all flat when originally copied for storage.
Since I don’t belong to any party, I don’t care which party wins, as long as I feel THAT person is the person that should be in THAT office. It took me several years to decide if the document was fake or real. I looked at ALL of the evidence I could find on the issue before I decided what I have decided.

The people who put together the WND article lost my attention when they began by presenting an image of the document that’s so blurry most of it can’t even be read. A much clearer copy is available on the White House website.
Even with that, analysis of the image is of questionable value. It’s an image of a paper print out that was made from another scan to begin with. Right from the get go, we’re dealing with a 2nd generation copy that involved 2 instances of lossy digital file compression. That is then being compressed yet again for presentation on a 72 dpi computer screen. Such an image is going to be loaded with digital artifacts. If you begin reprocessing a digital image to “reveal” more details of such artifacts, you’ll get farther from reality every step you take.
This really isn’t like examining a paper document with a magnifying glass or with infrared imaging looking for evidence of physical tampering. There’s no original paper document on file to be examined. That’s increasingly the case these days.

If there was a federal budget, everybody could easily see how much more is being spent than is coming in. Without a budget, there is no reference point to compare to.
If the republicans have looked at the evidence of obama’s fake birth certificate, and still say that he is legally qualified to be president, then they are in on the con job. I’m guessing that most, if not all of the republicans haven’t even looked at the evidence. How can anyone with an open mind look at the evidence and say the document is real? EVERY expert who has looked at it says it is fake.
I’m hoping the republicans are just ignorant, and not a part of the con job. I suggest people ask their republican politicians, including their governor, if they have looked at the information presented. I printed the article I referred to and sent a copy to each of my reps, and my governor. They are all republicans, and none of them replied back saying that they would even look into it.

Digital can be such a crappy medium. Garbage in, garbage out. Anyone who’s ever received a windat file knows how the filter of technology can corrupt. Anyone who’s ever cut/pasted and received double/triple spacing, or pasted in a bunch of ASCII knows.
.gif/.jpg/.bmp/.pdf/Hardware/Model/Driver/Updates/Properties/Policies/DPI/Etc. It all depends on the in. And out.
Govt documents are stored in Document Management Systems (DMS). iManage is an example of a platform. The data is the asset, not the quality. The staff that converts the paper doc to electronic doesn’t give too much thought to dpi/etc when tasked with a batch conversion.
