Holding Pelosi’s Feet to the Water

“They mislead us all the time,”
-Nancy Pelosi, 2009

Remember that? Covered here, here, here, and here (I’m sure I missed another dozen posts). The next week in anticipation of her weekly news conference, she avoids the topic and the press lets her off the hook. The press should have hung on to the story like a tenacious pit-bull until she either resigned or the truth outed. Instead, there she still sits…affecting our nation.

Today, Marc Thiessen, in wake of the release of Jose Rodriguez’s new book, Hard Measures, holds her feet to the water once again:

“TODAY IS SEPTEMBER 12, 2001″

The hub for conterterrorism operations is the CTC’s Global Response Center. At its entrance is a three-foot by three-foot sign that says, TODAY IS SEPTEMBER 12, 2001. It’s a reminder of the urgency required to combat global terrorism. Along the wall are two photos of the World Trade Center and one of the Pentagon after the attacks.

-Ronald Kessler, The Terrorist Watch, pg 188

As the one-year anniversary of Osama bin Laden’s demise looms before us, questions are being asked:

What is the state of al-Qaeda?

Is the war on terror over?

Are we safer?

A Rose In The Outhouse

There are few realists who will argue that the MSM isn’t functioning as a propaganda bureau for Obama. There are a few operatives for the Left who complain with righteous indignation that media is in the “tank” for the GOP, but no one in touch with reality takes this outlandish diversion seriously. Most people are intuitive enough to recognize blatant dishonesty, especially when the subject matter requires the reader/viewer to ignore common sense to accept the premise of the deception.

Vogue is the medium, Asma al-Assad (wife of the Syria’s hereditary dictator for life) is the subject, and deception is the game, but deception for the sake of deception is little more than the musings of a pathological liar. No indeed, our propagandists are not pathological liars, they have definitive purposes to justify their lies and deceit.

“Now some have said I blame too many problems on my predecessor; but let’s not forget: That was a practice initiated by George W. Bush.” –President Obama, White House Correspondence Dinner

“Yesterday’s show was incredible — we had the president of the United States, Barack Obama, on the show. Obama hung out with me backstage, he did ‘Slow Jam the News,’ he gave a long interview — at one point, I was like, ‘Dude, don’t you have a country to run?’” –Jimmy Fallon

Making the Hard Measures

“This is an individual who probably didn’t give a rat’s ass about having water poured on his face,”

“We made some al-Qaida terrorists with American blood on their hands uncomfortable for a few days. I am very secure in what we did and am very confident that what we did saved American lives.”

-Jose Rodriguez, former chief of the CIA’s clandestine service

We Can Balance the Budget. Right Now – No Tricks, No Gimmicks, and No B.S. [Reader Post]

We’ve got a federal debt problem, and our political leaders are not taking it seriously. Granted, Paul Ryan was ready to step up and give us a budget that will eventually get us back on the path to fiscal solvency, but even his suggestions were promptly scorched by our president, whose own budget proposal was such an excellent idea that it got rejected unanimously by the Democrat controlled Senate. One of the biggest problems with getting any kind of spending reforms in Washington is that to most people the federal debt is some distant issue, or worse, something that can and should be paid by somebody else. I want to change that.

Not All Capitalism Is Created Equal [Reader Post]

The Tea Party and Libertarians have been fighting Crony Capitalism for at least 3 years now. Some even longer. It’s not that Tea Party/Libertarian leaning people want others to be taxed at a higher rate or be regulated out of existence. It’s the influence of Crony Capitalism on policy and uses of elected officials to gain advantages single voters have no chance of getting that is the difference. Let us face facts, who is a politician going to be most influenced by:

Big Brother Is Consolidating Control Incrementally

Black Boxes, or “mandatory event data recorders” will now be installed in your “new” car in 2015, they will record your mileage, locations, and speeds before and during accidents. Of course, it takes no electronic genius to imagine this information being enlarged to provide the government with continuous information concerning you and your transportation. The bill has been passed by the Senate in March and is expected to be rubber stamped by the House.
