Obama Kills Drilling Off The Atlantic Coast For The Next Five Years

Obama does it again….

Yesterday the Obama administration announced a delaying tactic which will put off the possibility of new offshore oil drilling on the Atlantic coast for at least five years:

The announcement by the Interior Department sets into motion what will be at least a five year environmental survey to determine whether and where oil production might occur.

Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell notes that a planned lease sale, which the administration cancelled last year, will now be put off until at least 2018. As you might expect, Republicans were not impressed with the decision:

“The president’s actions have closed an entire new area to drilling on his watch and cheats Virginians out of thousands of jobs,” said Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Wash., who chairs the House Natural Resources Committee. The announcement “continues the president’s election-year political ploy of giving speeches and talking about drilling after having spent the first three years in office blocking, delaying and driving up the cost of producing energy in America,” he said.

But hey, during “his watch” oil drilling is at an 8 year high.

Sigh…

He complained about subsidies to oil companies but was promptly shut up by his own Party.

He attacks drilling offshore, he blocked the Keystone pipeline, refuses to drill in ANWAR, all the while he funnels millions upon millions of our dollars into obviously flawed green energy companies who promptly go bankrupt and THEN tries to take credit for drilling permits issued long before he took office.

Presidents can affect gas prices, at least in the long term, by exercising budgetary discipline resulting in a currency that buys more oil per dollar, by approving or rejecting federal oil leases, and by adding or curbing regulations that affect oil exploration and development. In all of these cases, Obama has supported policies that contribute to higher gas prices.

The point about the lag time between finding and pumping oil is valid. But that reality is precisely why presidents must green-light exploration for future generations — and why Obama is now bragging of record U.S. production only because of his predecessor’s granting of federal oil leases. Obama’s “it takes too long” argument is absurd — as if farmers should never plant new orchards since they won’t see fruit on their trees for three years or more.

And now he is ensuring a 5 year moratorium on drilling on the Atlantic coast.

The man is a joke.

If the politicians really cared about our retirement, all they would have to do is make it mandatory for us to have a retirement fund that we pay a percentage of our income into. If someone knows how to do the math, figure up what a person would have at retirement age if they put a certain amount in a Wroth IRA.

Clark Howard said that if a 15 year old would put $2,000 per year ($38.46 per week) in a Wroth IRA for just 7 years, and left it there until they were 65, if you use the average of the stock market from the time it was created, they would have $1,000,000 in the account at age 65 with only a $14.000 investment. The idea is to start early and then leave it there. Think how much that would be if all of the SS money you paid went into your personal retirement account! This would be one way parents could set up a retirement account for their own kids and pay into it if their kids can’t. SS ain’t going to be there for them.

The politicians don’t want this for two reasons:
(1) You would have full control of the account.
(2) The politicians wouldn’t have any control of the account.

I’m glad I have 50 shares of Apple stock that I bought for between $375-380 per share.

Reno wants studies to prove a wind turbine is worthwhile before being put up.
Obama says, wait, it is too soon to do such a thing.
Who is right?
As first reported by the Reno Gazette-Journal, one turbine that cost the city $21,000 to install saved the city $4 on its energy bill.
Overall, $416,000 worth of turbines have netted the city just $2,800 in energy savings.

We had an honest solar panel sales company when we were re-roofing.
Our hope was to save 25%-50% on our monthly electric bill for the building’s commons area, laundry and lights.
He honestly told us that we didn’t have enough sunny hours per day to save 25% a year.
Maybe more like 12% – 18%.
We could not justify the expense to results ratio to the condo owners.
Now we use solar path lights and save quite a bit.

Obama doesn’t want us to know the cost-to-results facts on green projects.
He doesn’t care what it costs US.
He wants his cronies to get rich so they can support his campaign….
That is all.

I think you got it right on the dot,
he does what he want no matter how many people he hire to do the job,
he must have taken a lot of drugs in his teen and maybe still now, because it is the sign of a person acting
like he does, another sign he demonstrate also is that he is always cold, his body doesn’ t provide warmt
it is like his brain doesn’t react with his body temperature, at the beginning his staff mentioned it and found it strange of him, when I read that I connected to the intake of drugs at some times in his life,
those who take drugs at the teen age, don’t think it will affect their brain later but they don’t realize it, only other who observe their behavior for a good while see it clearer, like sudden switch of behavior within instant of each other the size of the good doctor change to a mean monster, what was the name of that old scary movie.
bye

Lets see here. Oil companies drilling on the richest fishing ground in the world, need to rid the commercial fisherman all together. I’d say what Obama did was in need of the Fishermen and the not the friggin oil companies pockets.
