Obama mocks reporter with lies- left wing press swallows it whole [Reader Post]

It is an impressive thing to watch Barack Obama smile and lie through his teeth. It is another equally impressive thing to watch the left wing press zombies sit with their drool buckets, nodding their heads without question, thoroughly intimidated.

Fox News reporter Ed Henry asked Obama

“Your critics will say on Capitol Hill that you want gas prices to go higher, because you have said before that will wean the American people off fossil fuels onto renewable fuels. How do you respond to that?”

And Obama responded:

“Ed, just from a political perspective, do you think the President of the United States, going into reelection, wants gas prices to go up even higher?” he said. Turning to the room at large, he added, “Is there anybody here who thinks that makes a lot of sense?”

Now look closely at that answer.

“…just from a political perspective…”

And Obama added

Look, here’s the bottom line with respect to gas prices: I want gas prices lower because they hurt families.

Did you ever want to be a reporter for even a few minutes right at a certain moment?

I sure did.

I would have responded

“But Mr. President, in 2008 you told John Harwood that you were OK with high gas prices, it’s just that you didn’t want them to rise quickly.”

YouTube Preview Image

“In 2008 you also said that your Cap and Trade plan would cause electricity rates to skyrocket.”

YouTube Preview Image

“You said that you planned to bankrupt the coal industry.”

“You appointed Steven Chu to be Energy Secretary. One has to assume that you would only appoint people to Cabinet position who reflect your policies. Chu said he wanted the price of gasoline to be as high in the US as it is in Europe.”

“At a recent hearing Secretary Chu was asked if the overall goal of the administration was to get the price of oil down and he said ‘no.’

“It certainly appears as though all of your policies are about making energy costs very expensive for the American taxpayer, including gasoline prices. So you’ll excuse me for saying this, but in the face of a coming election why should anyone think now that you’re not simply a freaking liar?”

But then, that’s why I’m not a reporter.

He was for higher energy prices, before he was against them, but don’t worry, he will be for them once again, if he is re-elected.

That isn’t considered lying, just smart politics.

I don’t think obama should be for or against anything without listening to the US first. If your president I think you should listen to what the people are trying to say and not what you want, or what you think the people are asking for. It should be a unanimous descision, and not just the government wants this so this is going to happen. If obama gets re-elected he should change his ways of thinking. The US deserves to know the TRUTH!

Darbie, believe it or not , I agree with you; however, I think Obama has his own agenda, an agenda that has very little to do with the welfare of the American people. His main objective is the Redistribution of America’s wealth; supposedly, to make us pay for our Capitalist endeavors over the last two hundred years, so that despots who control large groups of people or countries can enrich themselves with our wealth. Thus the income of the citizens of the world will become more equal and we will all live with a similar standard of living, except for the Elites of this new world order, like Obama and his benefactor, George Soros. They will enjoy more profound levels of wealth, levels previously unknown in the history of man, for this is the way of Socialist domination. The Elites rule over peasants, who live in gratitude and shared misery for being so well cared for by their Elite Masters, who guarantee equality of poverty and misery.

This is the man you ask to listen to the people? He uses people, or at least their naiveté to make himself into a messianic hero to the weak and feeble minded. Has he done anything for any group of people besides diverting government money to different unions and thus insure massive contributions from those same unions. Does anyone enjoy a better lifestyle except for the parasites who contribute nothing but continue to thrive from the government dole. If you can think of an instance where Fearless Reader has listened to the American people and responded to their pleas, enlighten us.

The Keystone Pipeline is a case in point, America needs the jobs, and the energy independence that such a pipeline would offer, but our leader calls members of the Senate to personally lobby against the pipeline. Why? Because there is already a pipeline, a green pipeline, a pipeline that exports a continuous flow of American wealth to the Middle East. Thus we enrich despots who are our enemies and compromise our own economic and strategic stability. This is a win-win situation for Obama; why should he listen to the people, his agenda is on track.

One needs look no further than Obamacare and the waivers issued, as well as Congress being excluded from it, to see Obama’s true desire. While Obamacare does pretty much institute healthcare coverage for all, the coverage is minimal, still expensive and getting more so, and won’t do what they claim. Meanwhile, the “elites” who are either in Congress, in higher levels of government, or who have been extended the waivers, will enjoy a much better overall product, but only up to the point where they fall out of favor with the ruling “elites”.

Picture Obama going up to a couple of the “evil 1%ers”, and then snatching a $100 from both of them. At that point, Obama turns to the crowd of a 50 people around him, states his intention to “redistribute the wealth”, and hands each of them $1. As he’s walking away he hands Michelle $50, his “elite” friend $50, and pockets the other $50. And, to make matters worse, as he’s walking away and that crowd of 50 people turn to the coffee shop to get a cup of coffee, they find out Obama has taken it over and that the price is now $1.50 for a cup of coffee, you are allowed only one cup, the coffee beans have been roasted by “alternative energy” and thus are not fully roasted, so the coffee tastes terrible, and to top it all off, Obama has stationed a policemen at the exit to the shop to ensure that everyone who entered the shop has purchased a cup. Those who don’t get put in the paddy wagon waiting on the curb, or pay a fine of $2 to walk away.

JG, your simple analogy is the method we will need to use, to drive home these ideas home to the semi-literate product of public education. Another of the carefully programmed methods for domination, the dumbing down and indoctrination of our youth. Our deficit is so great and our goal, the preservation of the Constitution is so minimal and trivial to youth, that it will take millions of such simplistic analogies to over come 12 to 16 years of public education indoctrination. This is a battle and they already have the high ground.

The belief system reflected by Obama’s policies does not bless the poor but curses them with the comfort that their misery will be shared by countless others as the theology Obama practices is the compassion of equality of identity, not one of opportunity- an equality that works to create shared misery and does not allow the individual to excel without dragging them down by imposing collective guilt and redistribution of the rightful possessions of others. The world view reflected in his policies will not feed the hungry but will only create more hunger as it has everywhere it has been practiced in the last century. Ask the millions of Ukrainians who starved to death during the Holodomar, under communism, about the compassion reflected in these policies. Ask the Cubans under Castro about the compassion reflected in collectivism. Poverty is the legacy of these policies, Serfdom its inheritance.

Reminded me of an old commie fairytale.
Two poor neighbors (Igor and Petr) were scraping by.
One day Igor got a cow.
Igor flourished as the cow gave him milk and even a calf for meat.
Petr cursed Igor’s good fortune and begged the skies that he and Igor be made equal again.
The next day the cow died.
Petr rejoiced that now they were equally poor once again.

Obama idiology represents an extreme form of political “teamism”. Imagine an extremely close play at the plate. The umpire rules the runner “safe”. The fielding team adamately demands to see the instant replay. The batting team, however, is fully content with the call as it stands.

For the ones engaging in teamism, the truth is pursued only as long as it is beneficial to them. One the truth becomes a perceived burden or liabilty, it is swept under the proverbial rug.

Obama is beginning to find himself enslaved by his past. Lying about it in the present will not help. Telling the truth about it is the only thing that could ever set him free.

you just said something very important and so true,
I never thought of that mentality to make them believe of equality of identity, is in it a form of inciting and dividing?
very smart theory to keep the poor under his control because he use that compassion of equality
and I think he did the same with the owls and occupiers which wanted a part of the rich WALLSTREET MONEY AND THEY WHERE DEMANDING IT , SO that was another of his theory applicable to them
was in it?, and it gave us the answer of how dangerous OBAMA is by using other for what he want to do or get, he can start a revolution with that concept targetting the class of people he did,
he used it against the CONGRESS when they where trying to debate the debt ceiling,
he used it on THE REPUBLICAN ON OTHER SUBJECTS, always putting other as his excuses for his failure,
that is arrogant and shameless.and could not care of the consequences of his actions.

Okay…. i will take your word for that. This would have occurred while production plummeted under his presidency until his last 2 years in office. Which year did this happen ? Where was Venus?

US domestic production effects the price of oil slightly more than I do. You’ve either been ecstatic about that since 2008 or you haven’t….

We don’t need to have an economist say a president can affect oil prices…..we have historical facts that prove it.
    1. July 14, 2008. President Bush removed the executive-branch moratorium on offshore drilling. Crude-oil futures for August delivery plunged $9.26, or 6.3 percent, almost immediately as Bush was speaking, bringing the barrel price down to $136.

    2. Between 2006 and 2009 the average number of drilling permits for oil was 73.4% of those submitted.
Under Obama that has dropped to only 34%.
Our gas prices go up in mirror opposite with Obama’s permitting slowdown.

@DrJohn, Crimson got his same talking point debunked on your “oily lies” post.

But as usual, it’s a parsing of words to attempt to gain false victories for those like Crimson. Sort of a “depends upon what the meaning of ‘is’… is” mentality. Tiresome game playing, but it’s playbook debate by progressives like Crimson and ilk.

While it’s true a POTUS has no influence in setting the price of a barrel on the global marketplace, it’s also true that what the POTUS can control – energy policies – *does* effect those prices. Not, however, with the cautious, drip drip policy exhibited by this POTUS, of course.

The 1995 Congressional legislation (big time bipartisan agreement under Newt’s House and the GOP held Senate) that put in changes in how leases were handled were instrumental in changing the E&P development landscape that started in the Bush the younger years, and came on line in early 2009. Unfortunately, the moratorium and permitoriums of this admin are reversing that trend, and the promise of Obama taxation is festering it further. This is why – consumption aside – Obama’s admin itself predicts declining US production.

There needs to be an all out open revolt of “change” on energy that sends the clear message to the market and speculators that the US is going all out for total independence of OPEC nation oil by exploiting domestic and nearby allies resources.

Crimson and his/it’s types think in small narrow windows of time, based on partisan presentation. For example, consider this statement:

This would have occurred while production plummeted under his presidency until his last 2 years in office. Which year did this happen ? Where was Venus?

Let’s look at reality and events that provided change in that reality, shall we? Here’s the history of US oil production.

As you can see, the “plummeting” that Crimson discusses began late in Reagan’s 2nd term, kept going down thru both Bush the elder and Teflon Bill Clinton’s terms.

It was for this reason that the 1995 Congress – with hefty support across the aisle – attempted to encourage US E&P activity by revamping leases. Since many of these leases were deepwater, the drilling to production takes time… thus why Thunder Head wasn’t on line – with the bureacratic stop and starts of red tape … until March 2009. However were it not for legislation, lifting nanny regulations on leases and providing a friendly E&P environment, we would still be on the decline.

This entire vision requires looking over a longer time period than the average partisan, anti-oil progressive is capable of handling. You know, when you have the learning capacity and attention span of a gnat, ya just can’t expect much from them….

    Guys,

To win in the current discourse, we must have thoughtful, well-reasoned debate. We must also have a passion for what we are debating. Both must be present. We cannot be merely intellectual, or else we come across as political automatons (or, as C.S. Lewis put it many years ago, “men without chests”). If we speak only with passion, we become like the OWS crowd, or worse, like the misguided parishioners of Westboro Baptist Church.

Remember, the bottom line in any debate is to bring your opponent to your side. This cannot be accomplished if your opponent doesn’t feel that you truly care, or if you have peed them off to the point that they are no longer willing to listen.

And for goodness sake, quit tearing each other apart! The left doesn’t need your help to accomplish our nation’s demise.

    “………from a political perspective….” indeed.
Obama is only interested in appearances.
He needs things to appear to be getting better for the coming election to go his way.
So, our seeing high and higher energy prices is proof of his true colors.
Will we see prices come down for some political reason before the election?
    Probably.
Remember, this is the same Obama who tried to make the curve of unemployment appear better through overcounting US Census workers (hiring/firing/hiring/firing/hiring the same person over and over again).
Look at the updated to Feb 2012 chart, however.
It is going to take us 100 MORE months to regain all the jobs we lost.
Obama’s messin’ with the curve looks comical now, but he tried to win the 2010 midterms based on it!
Obama will try the same thing again.
