So You Want To Win The Nomination

He is doubly destroyed who perishes by his own arms.

The GOP candidates are struggling for position like horses in a long race; except they must contend not only with each other, but with Obama’s State Directed Media as well. For the MSM is intent on ruining the reputation of all but their personal picks with innuendo, fraud, false accusations, and lies. If there is an element of truth within the onslaught of smears, the public, except for the witless believers and those who suck blindly of the Socialist teat of Marxist pablum, have become immune to the assault of the media.

We must remember, the successful GOP candidate has a tremendous advantage; he can run against Obama’s dismal failures. Obama’s State Run Media can attack you personally, but they can’t erase the utter failure and incompetence of Obama.

Yet, the intrepid runners of the GOP refuse to offer, us the Anti-Obamites, the bones we hunger for so desperately: those same bones that would guarantee victory for the runner who would be so bold to make the commitment to drain the cesspool of corruption that is Washngton. We the Anti-Obamites, and certainly not all Republicans, are waiting to join the crusade for a runner who has the temerity to stand against the entrenched corruption of the beltway. You may trust that we will vote for any skim milk candidate who promises to not be Obama. Oh yes, we will trudge to the polls in a half hearted effort and vote for anyone who has a half-assed chance to beat Obama, but if you want to clinch the nomination and win the general election in a landslide with an unprecedented mandate from the American people, just promise to end the Crony Capitalism that Obama has made into an institution of Washington; promise to push for tort reform, promise to repeal Obama Care, promise to promote welfare reform and prosecute welfare criminals, promise to defund Democratic radio like NPR and PBS, promise to end the Insider Trading by members of our congress and Senate, promise to end the pork especially the pork funding Obama’s reelection and the Democratic Party, promise to shut down the national Labor Relations Board, promise to open up drilling in the US and have an energy program that works for the US and not against us, promise to shut down the EPA and end the nonsense that is little more than a ploy to gain control over our citizenry, promise to quit strangling the country over the Socialist Hoax of Global Warming, promise to shut down the borders and enforce our immigration laws, promise to end entitlements for those who are here illegally and illegally milking our strained system, swear to defend this country against its enemies, promise to encourage job growth and not to inhibit job growth with regulations, and promise to fight wars to win, rather than using them for political advantage.

The formula for success is easy; it may seem like a lot, but the candidates have been only too happy to dance around the issues and be everyone’s favorite whore or a typical politician, but we aren’t looking for a favorite whore or a cheap phony like Obama; we are looking for an honest statesman who is committed to ending the corruption in our capital.

Obama’s media pimps lead the GOP candidates like sheep to the abattoir; while you make fools of yourselves by pleading to protect the incomes of the wealthiest of Americans in his theater of the absurd, over half of whom are Obama Marxists, he keeps you from confronting the real issues, and you indirectly give credibility to the Occupiers by standing against them to defend their Marxist benefactors who fund them and Obama; thus he keeps you from attacking his failures and those same issues listed above, and many more we are concerned with. Obama and his State Directed Media will be more than happy to control the nomination process and the election: the question is, are you willing to let him control the process.

‎”I love those who can smile in trouble, who can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. ‘Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but they whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves their conduct, will pursue their principles unto death.” (Leonardo da Vinci, 1452 – 1519).

Excellent piece, Skookum. I too, have been saying that the MSM is trying to affect the GOP primary by attempting to control the narrative. We must be resolute and deny them their victory.

I think Sarah Palin was the only one who met your criteria, and she’s not running…perhaps Michelle Bachmann as well, but she doesn’t seem to have much of a chance of winning. Let’s face it: Republicans won’t be running a conservative candidate for president in 2012. About all we can do at this point is activate Operation Counterweight.

I would add the following promises:
1. Term limits
2. Workfare, not welfare (remember the Bible says to let the gleaners do their own work)
3. Abolish all deductions, institute a flat tax of 10-12%
4. Cease aid to dependent children of unwed mothers after the 1st child
5. Reconfirm the definition of marriage between one man and one woman
6. No more government funded abortion

Well said Bruce. There is also a 12$Billion dollar burrito in the room with respect to the cost of illegal immigration. I live in So Cal and the cost to our educational system (including three meals a day of course, health care (visit any ER in San Diego and you will clearly see it), law enforcement (visit our jails or do a review of who commits crimes and gets arreseted), and college tuition (basket weaveing as a major produces little productivity other than OWS attendance). Also SDSU has a rule that within a certain district all high school applicants must be accepted at SDSU. Now these idiots say we are broke and want more money in taxes and fees. I say you failed to do your job and bought votes instead. Now exit stage left and let people with real talent try and save our state and country.

So, Skook, to paraphrase… are you saying the political opposition agenda keeps wagging the tail in front of a gullible media, who then keeps us so busy watching them chase their own tail that we forget there’s an appealing T- bone on the lawn over there, waiting to be gnawed on?

LOL

Well, if that’s what you’re saying, I couldn’t agree more.

Well put Skookum!

While Rick Perry has his flaws and got into this race late which has hurt him in that he does not have all his talking points so that they come out without him having think about them, he is the most qualified person running. He has 10 years of succesful executive leadership of the world’s 13th largest economy. Texas has led in job creation over the last 2 years. His convictions are genuine and his instincts are conservative. Read his book. Fed Up by Rick Perry. He gets it that Washington and its corruption are our problem. We are not doomed to Wall Street (Romney) or Washington Insider (Gingrich) yet.

Mata, you know dang well, what I am writing about. LOL

All those items condensed in your article is scary. I’m a fantasy loving person, like to dream, but I don’t look at the world through rose colored glasses. You have described in your piece way too much to ever overcome. Ever. There are no self sacrificing people ANYWHERE, that is willing, would be willing, to throw their “career” overboard to come to the rescue of “we the people”. I’d love to be an optimist, but all I see and all I read, I just can’t see it. I’ve been telling myself, is it really this bad or are the headlines just scare tactics.

WHAT CAN YOU BELIEVE? HOW BAD IS IT REALLY, AND OTHER THAN VOTE WHAT THE HELL CAN YOU AND I THE SANE PEOPLE STILL WALKING DO!

@Skookum: I do believe he deserves a 2nd look and appreciate the open-mindedness. As far as the illegal aliens…I don’t know why people think he is soft on them. He has tried to seal the border to the extent that the federal government will allow. (He has been endorsed by Sherriff Joe Arpio) It is a federal issue and as a governor he does not have the authority to deport anyone. See Arizona and their lawsuit being brought by the Feds against them.

I’m not sure if there is a mis-understanding about in-state tuition for illegals. Perry should not have said what he said, and he has apologized for being disrespectful. (See Bret Baer’s show when Perry did the Center Seat segment) But these kids (17-18) are not receiving any money. They are only receiving equal treatment as any other Texas student having resided in Texas for the 3 years prior to entering a Texas college. If you have resided in Texas for 3 years you are qualified for in-state tuition RATES not free tuition. Theses kids were brought to this country, they did not come of their own free will. They have attended Texas schools because the Supreme Court says we must educate them. If they have managed to succeed and make qualifing grades, Texan’s have extended to them ONLY what their fellow classmates are receiving. This is not an incentive for parents to bring their children when they are Freshmen in high school just to get in-state tuition RATES.

As far as Perry and his gun…just glad to know that he has one and knows how to use it. Growing up in Texas everyone used to carry them on a rack in their back window of their pick up around here. Just never knew when you were going to see a rattlesnake.

@Tercel: Maybe he is perceived as soft on illegal immigration because, even though he eventually joined in Arizona’s defense he had misgivings about their immigration law.

“I fully recognize and support a state’s right and obligation to protect its citizens, but I have concerns with portions of the law passed in Arizona and believe it would not be the right direction for Texas.

“For example, some aspects of the law turn law enforcement officers into immigration officials by requiring them to determine immigration status during any lawful contact with a suspected alien, taking them away from their existing law enforcement duties, which are critical to keeping citizens safe.”

I am just saying that this is, along with the in-state tuition for illegals is where he is seen as soft on illegal immigration.

@anticsrocks: Perry has never shown anything that leads me to believe he is soft on illegal immigration. He has supported and is now law in Texas that we do not allow illegal aliens drivers licenses and require picture ID for voter registration. It is my understanding that Perry’s difference with the Arizona law is that it is a Federal responsibility to seal the border and the fact that with the size of the Texas border it would be an astronomical cost for the state and it’s citizens. I believe the goal between the two governors is the same but the difference is who is going to pay for it.
And for the wrap that he is not for a “fence” is a red herring. A litteral physical fence all along the Texas border is not practical or effective. Some of the land is a river. If you put up a fence on our side of the border, there may be future issues with Mexico as to where the border is, some of the land is mountainous and some of it is private land and some of it is most hospitable and probably has not seen a human in years. He understands what it will take to stop people from crossing which includes some physical fence, air planes to watch the deserted places, and troops or border agents with real time information to catch the intruders.

@Skookum: I know and I agree with that saying to a point. However, it could lead to putting up another RINO in fears that we can’t woo the independent voters. A strong, confident, no-nonsense, well spoken conservative will always get the independents. The vast majority of the country is right or center right so that is why, IMHO McCain, Dole, etc… didn’t win.

@Tercel: I wasn’t knocking Perry per se, just trying to give some insight as to why there are folks who think he is soft on illegal immigration.
.
.

Do wish Perry was a better communicator. But apparantly in Texas we raise them to be doers not talkers. I think Rick Perry understands the dire nature of the mess we are in and he has proven to be a capable leader that is a gut level conservative. He has been leading Texas for 10 plus years and we are not doing as badly down here as most. But that said, I’ll be happy with Santorum, Bachman, Perry and even Newt (althought his conservative credentials certainly have some glaring contradictions). Romney, in my opinion has no grasp of the dire straights we are in. He just wants to be President. Hope he is not our candidate.

Right.
Okay.
Where is this person?
These are all laudable goals to long for in a candidate.
But the Obama Chicago Attack Machine is ready to destroy any such candidate.
Alinsky: identify, focus, attack.
Worked in 2008: O got rid of Hillary. O got rid of a bunch of strong Republican candidates. We ended up with McCain, the RINO.
And the American people are suckers for “Hope and Change.” Unfortunately what they hope for does not happen, and the change is all in the direction of Socialism, more Socialism, and still more Socialism (to borrow from Hugo Chavez). RRRight. It takes a village to destroy a Country.
Just you wait. It will be the most vicious, underhanded, slanderous, duplicitous, vile campaign in history. It will make Hamilton v Jefferson look like the best friendship ever.

The dreaded MSM does not put words in the mouths of Rick Perry,Michelle Bachmann,Herman Cain,Sarah Palin or for that matter BHO. These folks put their own foot in their own mouths and it’s on tape and T.V. and they can’t blame the media over and over for their mistakes.
Note Watch for Ron Paul to pull upset win in Iowa.

@Richard Wheeler: As I noted on another FA thread, spending a million plus dollars in Iowa ought to buy Ron Paul some results…

Anticsrocks Money talks unless you’re as miserable a candidate as Meg Whitman was here in Cal.
Now that Cain is out, who are you backing? Who will win Iowa?

Richard Wheeler
hi,
don’t you worry, the CANDIDATES ARE JUST PRACTICING PUTTING THEIR FOOT IN THEIR MOUTH, TO SEE HOW IT FEEL WHEN ONE OF THEM
PUT HIS OR HER FOOT IN OBAMA’S MOUTH.
it’s not painfull, you do that all the time and come back for more
BYE

Sorry Bee’s… there’s only room for Obama’s foot in his mouth… however I can think of a place on Obama’s anatomy where I could put a booted foot!

You know… the place the dingo sniffs when he meets another dingo!

Donald Blye,
WHAT YOU SAID
it rimes, so it tell me it come from a song you know,
from far away, where the dingo lives, the song you where singing, at the campfire
while throwing your BOOMERANG, at him,
WHEN IT CAME BACK ON YOU. and knock you down on the broken boomerang,
breaking your heart,
you loved that dingo enough to et it, and sang that song,
while waltzing MATHILDA,

RICK PERRY FOR PRESIDENT SOUND GOOD, AND HE COULD DO SO MUCH FASTER WITH PRECISION,
HE HAS CONQUERED THE SOIL OF THE EARTH TO GROW FOOD FOR HUMAN, HE HAS CONQUERED THE SKY TO MAKE HIM FLY TO HELP HUMAN TO CONQUER THE ENNEMIES,
HE HAS CREATED A WAY TO GIVE JOBS TO TEXAS CITIZENS EVEN JOBS ACROSS HIS STATE’S BORDER,
AS A COMPLEMENT OF HIS ACTIONS, HE HAS THE CONFIDENCES OF VERY SMART ACHIEVERS IN THIS AMERICA, EVEN NOW AS HE STRUGGLE TO GAIN THE CONFIDENCE OF AMERICANS ,
HE IS A LOVED HUMAN BEING BY MANY BESIDE HIS OWN FAMILY, HE LOVE HIS COUNTRY HE FOUGHT FOR YOUR FREEDOM UNDER THE FLAG OF AMERICA HE FOLLOW THE LAWS OF THE LAND, THE CONSTITUTION,
A PRESIDENT IN COMMAND FULLY WITH THE WISDOM OF HIS BELIEFS, DON’T NEED TO DEBATE,
HIS PAST SPEAK FOR HIM, AND DEMAND RESPECT MORE THAN ANY MEDIA CAN TRY TO STAIN A REPUTATION OVER A DEBATE, BLANK OF ONE ONLY WORD,
IT SHOW HOW RIDICULOUS THEY ARE, HOW EVIL IS ONE TO USE HIS POWER OF USING MEDIA TO DESTROY A REPUTATION OF ANOTHER HUMAN BETTER THAN THEIR OWN LIAR AND IMPOSTOR BECAUSE OF MONEY GAIN,
we can keep in mind if RICK PERRY G
DO NOT WIN, HE HAS HIS STATE OF TEXAS AND HAS HIS LOVING FAMILY AND FRIENDS SUPPORTERS, BUT THE LOST IS ON THE SIDE OF AMERICANS , WHICH CANNOT AFFORD ANOTHER MISTAKE.

@Richard Wheeler: I was sad to see Cain’s character assassinated the way it was, with the paper trail leading straight to Axelrod’s doorstep. By forcing Cain out, Obama can freely play the race card.

As for Iowa, I think Newt will probably win. He has the potential to go all the way and I think he would beat Obama handily. Bachmann and Santorum are both good conservative candidates, but I don’t see them being able to get the nod. Romney is the quintessential polished politician and I do not want to see him get the nomination.

Who knows? We might even see the GOP nominee being picked at the convention, which hasn’t happened since, what? 1976?

That being said though, if he does get the nomination, I shall hold my nose and pull the lever marked Romney.

I am so far completely unimpressed with Perry. Nor do I think he has a snowball’s chance in successfully debating Obama. He doesn’t even come across adequate debating fellow Republicans. Remember the Nixon and Kennedy debate.

Ditto
hi
too bad the fear of loosing to OBAMA is among all,
I can understand all , and still feel that in a normal time like before 2008,
RICK PERRY WOULD HAVE A RANK WAY IN THE FRONT LINE,
BECAUSE HE IS GENUINE,
SO THERE LIES THE PROBLEM OF THIS MOST IMPORTANT NEEDED TO WIN FOR THIS ELECTION,
YOU also overlooking the PEOPLE POWER TO WIN, AND IF YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO REALLY
SEE IT, really feel it, you might be thinking differently,
I think there was other super PRESIDENTS WHO DID NOT HAVE GOOD DEBATING SKILL,
they must be recalled in the memory of AMERICANS, AND I agree that this time , they would not make the WIN,
SO how to solve the problem of this must win this NOVEMBER?
DID THE QUESTION AROSE SINCE THE HISTORY OF AMERICA? NO I’M SURE
NOW HOW DO YOU CALL THIS ELECTION COMING WHICH IS AN ELECTION NOT FOR A BEST PRESIDENT BUT A BEST DEBATER,
WHAT WOULD BE THE SOLUTION TO THAT PROBLEM NEVER ENCOUNTER IN AMERICA?
I THINK THIS IS HIGH TIME FOR AMERICANS TO COME OUT AND WITHOUT A DOUBT REASSURING THEIR CANDIDATES OF THEIR LOYALTY, LIKE NEVER BEFORE IN AMERICA.
THAT IS HOW MUCH LOW THIS GOVERNMENT MADE IT HAPPEN, HOW MUCH MORE IMPORTANT IT IS TO WIN THE NOVEMBER ELECTION,
I TRUST AMERICA TO RISE UP ON THIS AND
IT’S TIME TO SHOW THE POWER OF AMERICA, MORE THAN EVER IN PERIL WITH UNEQUIVOCAL DOUBT,

Ditto
just think,
if RICK PERRY IS such bad debater,
how come he is the BEST JOB CREATOR, AND THE LONGEST GOVERNOR
OF THE STATE OF TEXAS,
THAT IS A GOOD ONE TO DEBATE.
BYE

@ilovebeeswarzone:

Bees, Perry might do well in the job, but he has to get the nomination & beat Obama to get it, and I just don’t see it. He needs to hire someone to help him develop his debate skills and a better campaign director. He comes across to me like a warmed over G W Bush reprise. (I wasn’t a big fan of either of Presidents Bush.)

Ditto
hi
good idea, and that would work too, but is there enough time for it, maybe he can try a
speed talk course, I think that he never needed it before, so he never try to get it, but for the DEBATE, IT IS REQUIRED, and some ask him how come he is so good in interviews and block on some debates,
he answer, that’s not my thing, but yes he must go thru the DEBATE thing, because many are judging it as a must do good to win over OBAMA,
although, I never thought and heard never found OBAMA to be that good on talking points,
THEY are repeat of “blame the other not me” what is there to be afraid of, compare to,
ONE saying the context of the AGENDA to get AMERICANS working and borders close and getting the government out of your pocket, and so on and so on, and most importantly to REALLY MEAN IT,
BYE

Ms. Bees Rather than becoming the LAST Perry supporter here at F.A. why not join the lemmings jumping onboard the Newt Wagon?

Richard Wheeler
hi,
I like NEWT GINGRISH, I was one to display his first speech which had the crowd standing up
clapping nonstop. he sure has the guts, no body can denied it, that’s what propulsion
him on first place so fast, now IT’S FOR RICK PERRY to get there on top, he sure does not belong in the back,
he RICK PERRY is the next PRESIDENT AND GINGRISH THE VICE PRESIDENT TO COME.
GET USE TO IT,
BYE

Ms. Bees Perry is finished.Eventual winner won’t even offer him a job.
