Weekly Open Thread – ‘Obama’s “Dukakis Tank” Moment’ Edition

What a leader:

This should be Obama’s Dukakis Tank moment, when pure bravado exposed the very perception of weakness the candidate hoped to overcome.

Is there anything worse than a candidate who tries so hard to be something he is not, to fake it so hard that it hurts to watch?

What a loser

To the left, this won’t matter. They’ll still pull the lever for the guy in the end.

No doubt his critics would have preferred for him to have been golfing.

Looks like he may be thinking,” I’ve been here for 45 minutes and no one has told me that I’d make a great meteorologists” whatever that is. Or is this another part of the new diversity program I just instructed the bureaucrats to implement, and I’m the token minority? Na Big Sis is sitting next to me.

Seriously folks, reviewing his emergency response teams and making sure he has the resources and people to cover possible emergencies might have been more appropriate, but not nearly as dramatic for a photo-op. There are real considerations like fire and rescue teams, available National Guard units, and police. Setting up an emergency response headquarters might have been a better idea than rolling up the shirt sleeves in front of a satellite monitor.

I’ve said it before, this man has morons for advisors and handlers. Maybe they teach at the universities.

@skookum 2: They used to teach at universities- if there is a silver lining in all this, the more “advisors” he hires, the less there are to teach our children socialist dogma.
Seriously, most of the stuff the Federal government pretends that it is competent at, the States actually WOULD be competent at. All of the things you cite, the States would be better off handling.
During Katrina, FEMA actually had ice going to Maine- I think that says it all. And to those who say FEMA is better now, all I can say is that even a blind pig finds an acorn every once in awhile.

Possibly worse than the pictures, were the “Presidential” banter at that table. It was just too embarrassing for words, yet CNN’s mindless fools pretended this was a President “taking” charge.

He doesn’t even seem to have the capacity to pretend co-ordinative abilities.

Can you imagine what must go on behind closed doors on important matters? He’s not only uninterested, and lacks an inquisitive mind, he lacks the acumen to feign leadership.

No wonder he’s had to surround himself with sycophants, and no wonder so many images of Hillary rolling her eyes have surfaced over the past three years.

Since this is an Open Thread, I just saw a wonderful video tribute to the Twin Towers.
Every film that had a scene of them is shown all in three and 1/2 minutes.
    Sweet.
Wonderful Montage Shows Nearly Every Film Appearance Of The Twin Towers
Just how iconic were those two buildings?
No, Obama, 9-11-01 was NOT about all of the world.
    It was about the USA.

@Greg: Actually he causes less chaos for America when he plays golf and does less than nothing. It’s when he wastes trillions on useless job creation follies that really cost us. BTW this was a CAT 1 storm not CAT 5 hitting a city under sea level and surrounded by water. 0-bama would then have to blame global warming and Bush to get around his responsibility as President. Of course we have seen this tactic ever sesne he was crowned President Community Organizer. Hopefully America has learned it’s lesson and will elect someone who has held a real job and understands business.
