When Politicians Intervene: NASA’s Budget Refocusing Ends US Space Exploration Program [Reader Post]

Some number of years ago, over twenty as I remember, the late (and IMHO great) Paul Harvey said that for every dollar spent at NASA, the return was seven dollars. So with that quote in my mind, the final Space Shuttle launch a few days ago, and Obama refocusing the NASA budget, I want to examine Obama’s NASA policy, as well as identify/review some of the daily benefits that we all derive from the NASA budget and space exploration. Continue reading

Chris Matthews: “Would Reagan even be a Republican today?”….Distorts Reagan Speeches

In all seriousness I find it hard to believe anyone watches Chris Matthews anymore.

Check him out here from tonight’s show in which he distorts the facts to “find his Reagan mojo” (quoting Michael Steele from the same segment). It’s quite amusing to watch as these liberal Democrats now….NOW….try to become Reaganites. Give me a break: Continue reading

Murdoch Hysteria Grips UK Media…All Reason Disappears

Robert Murdoch threatened the monopoly of the BBC…and boy are they taking the rope now that one of his companies were caught with their pants down. But as Simon Jenkins at The Guardian writes, when does this become more then just reporting? When does this become a hysterical sideshow? Continue reading

The Spiteful President Obama [Reader Post]

ay what you will about Barack Obama, but the man is quite exceptional. Coming from a broken home, he grew up and graduated from Columbia University and went on to earn a law degree at Harvard. Both schools are amongst the most challenging to get into in the country. Not only that, he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review and taught at the University of Chicago law school. The man who saved the United States of America [Reader Post]

He is Scott Walker of Wisconsin.

An article in Business Insider listed the Top 6 winners and losers in state budget battles this year. Among the winners are Governors Scott Walker of Wisconsin, Andrew Cuomo of New York, John Kasich of Ohio, Jerry Brown of California and Tom Corbett of Pennsylvania. They all took similar approaches to the financial crises that faced their states- they cut spending and mostly avoided new taxes. Continue reading
