Game On! Sarah Palin Running For President?

It seems Sarah is in:

Sarah Palin is launching a nationwide bus tour starting Sunday in Washington, a Palin source has confirmed to POLITICO.

The first stop will be at the annual Rolling Thunder motorcycle rally. Palin will then travel up the East Coast in a trip that will include her first stop in New Hampshire since running as the GOP’s vice presidential nominee in 2008.

Palin will also be stopping at other spots of symbolic national significance on the East Coast, including the Civil War battlefields at Gettysburg and Antietam, and the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia.

And Rush says the establishment, as well as Obama, are pretty worried about her:

On top of the bus tour comes the new movie The Undefeated by Stephen K. Bannon:

The result is a two-hour-long, sweeping epic, a rough cut of which Bannon screened privately for Sarah and Todd Palin last Wednesday in Arizona, where Alaska’s most famous couple has been rumored to have purchased a new home. When it premieres in Iowa next month, the film is poised to serve as a galvanizing prelude to Palin’s prospective presidential campaign — an unconventional reintroduction to the nation that she and her political team have spent months eagerly anticipating, even as Beltway Republicans have largely concluded that she won’t run.

Bannon, a former naval officer and ex-Goldman Sachs banker, sees his documentary as the first step in Palin’s effort to rebuild her image in the eyes of voters who may have soured on her, yet might reconsider if old caricatures begin to fade. The film will also appeal to staunch Palin supporters who have long celebrated her biting rhetoric and conservative populism yet know little about her record in Alaska and have perhaps written her off as presidential material.

“This film is a call to action for a campaign like 1976: Reagan vs. the establishment,” Bannon told RealClearPolitics. “Let’s have a good old-fashioned brouhaha.”

But she hasn’t announced yet…there is not even a peep that she will announce soon. So is she going to run or not?

Make no mistake…if she announces it will send shockwaves throughout the establishment ranks who will do their best to destroy her before she can hurt their favorite RINO’s.

Palin’s role over the last few years has been quite important in helping to rally the opposition to Obama…opposition that seemed impossible days after his inauguration. So you can bet your ass Obama will be worried.

And rumors abound that one of her potential running mates just may be Giuliani.

I’ll have a poll post up later this weekend going through the different scenario changes once she announces. The changes will be enormous.

If she is, that’s great. The rest of the field is anemic.

Unfortunately, the ruling class Republicans will shoot out her tires, unless the rank and file stand up and give them that “eyes, two fingers, and point’ stare popularized on ‘Meet The Parents”…:-)

If she really does ride into DC on a hog, as the Drudge headline reads, won’t she have done more to honor the Rolling Thunder ride than Obama who hid in the White House while it rode by?

    REMEMBER?
    ……………………Obama Snubs Rolling Thunder Again…………………

Last year, Obama tried and failed to officially snub Mueller and he seemed to have been genuinely surprised by the backlash. First the Administration refused Rolling Thunder a slot on its calendar. Then the week before Memorial Day, the White House reluctantly agreed to accept a letter from representatives of Rolling Thunder on the condition that the President would not have to attend the letter accepting ceremony. Then after more grumbling, and because our President is unusually warm and cordial when compared to other invaders from the planet Vulcan, Obama changed his mind yet again and agreed to what was officially described as a “brief but cordial” handshake with members of the group.

“The President stopped by while members of Rolling Thunder were meeting with administration officials about veterans’ issues,” a spokesman explained. “He was very happy to meet with them.” Or maybe things were actually as they appeared to be and Obama just got stuck with meeting them.

This year Obama was better prepared. This year he knew that gigantic pack of motorcycles and all that terrible noise was coming so he left town early. He spent the long weekend in Chicago. Consequently, it was physically impossible for him to shake hands with anybody from Rolling Thunder. And, since the President was not in town it logically followed that there was no reason to even pay lip service to Rolling Thunder by inviting any of the participants to meet “with administration officials.” So no administration officials did.

Any idea what Obama plans to do this year?

I’ll be very surprised if Sarah Palin runs, though such a surprise wouldn’t match the total astonishment I’d have felt if Trump had turned out to be serious. Consider her standing in the polls; also, consider that she doesn’t seem to be setting up the necessary organizational machinery.

I love the image of a powerful woman riding a pristine Harley but the “Image Police” may warn not to transpose the notion of “Power” where it fails to serve the stategic objective so I rescind the idea while remaining open to better suggestions. Nevertheless, the picture of riding on the back of a chopper named “Barry” is delicious through and through, “I’m going to ride this sucker right into the White House” with an enormous roar from a duel stroke 1200 cc machine is tough to match.

@ilovebeeswarzone: Hi Bees – Very Well said. Sarah is a straight talker and a straight shooter… For 50 years there has been a movement in America bound and determined to bit by bit to slowly take away our freedoms and liberty’s through poor (Liberal) Policies and tons of Regulations. People have slowly slided from being independent citizens to being dependent on the Government through entitlements [forced charity]… However I am not against nor is any conservative I know against helping those who truly need help…

I keep wondering why Pride in Country, Ethics, Morals, American Values and Traditions [a lot are fun Traditions I might add] are so demonized by many… What do the people who demonize these very ideals have to offer which is above and beyond? Or even Better? Sadly, Our America has changed into a world of “Takers” from the Government on down. Yes, there are a lot of us who are not very good at ‘playing’ the victim without “Truly being a Victim” …

Sarah is the Epitome of America… she touts American Pride and Traditions, Family, Hard Work, Striving for something better, Meeting Challenges, Moral Values, Self Reliance, etc.. these things just rub a Liberal the wrong way… what the liberals offer are much, much worse alternatives, unsustainable alternatives. Liberals have let it be known that they despise the [American] strengths Sarah embraces…..

Finding a politician that wants to do the right things is rare, but the politician with the courage to start and the tenacity to finish the job is most rare. In AK, Palin fixed GOP corruption and corrupt oil companies in less than two years. More than other Governors do in a lifetime.

She shows no fear of the Obama regime including the press. For more than two years, she has been THE target – putting herself in political harm’s way. She has shown the fortitude others can only promise.

The fact that, after two years of battle and media attacks against her, she can still stand with the other presidential hopefuls is amazing.

The fact that she stands taller, is unflippinbelievable.

    Sarah Palin 2012 Game On.

Sarah Palin has consistently shown the guts, and stomach, to be involved in public activities, and has taken more heat since being named as VP candidate by the MSM than Obama has since he first emerged on the scene as an Illinois Senator. And, she still continues to engage in activities that put her in front of the public.

CORRECTION WHEELER, Sarah Palin has won my heart and mind while your continued perfidy shows the impossibility defending the choice you made in November 2008. Tell me, tell us, “Name one – just 1 – redeeming quality relative to Barack Hussein Obama?” He now has a record that should express humanistic quality and value so the answer should be at the tip of your tongue. Perhaps the find is in one of the “I wrote two books – I really did”, so said in front of a bevy of Virginia elementery school teachers just outside WDC. Once said is a chuckle, twice is a clue, three times is evidence that Bill Ayers, SDS American soil terrorist and Hyde Park neighborhood Chicago neighbor, wrote Dreams Of My Father which shows O’BlastingCap to be a proverbial liar.

That was pretty low, even for you Rich. The Kardashians are famous for being internet and TV whores and because of who they date, and nothing more.

Sarah Palin has a message, that she is delivering quite well. I agree that she is a polarizing figure, but much of that is due to the lies and spin of the MSM and pop-culture oxygen bandits. I like Sarah Palin and if she jumps in the race, I will not only vote for her, but volunteer on her campaign for the area I live in.

I like Rubio too, but he isn’t well-known to people who don’t follow politics at all. I worry that he will have a difficult time gaining support from the typical middle-class conservatives.

One last thing, Romney is another sock-puppet Republican, who, in my opinion, doesn’t really stand for anything. He might be eloquent of speech, or he might not, I don’t know because I won’t listen to him speak. It seems to me that he will bend whichever way the wind blows, and that is something this country doesn’t need right now.

Really now, rich… must you impose your own personal feelings on the conservative nation at large? Especially since you are an admitted lib/prog.

I’m not sure why you translate Romney 17%/Palin 15% in the latest Gallup poll of GOP support as being “widespread unpopularity”. But hey… maybe you’re using the progressive playbook dictionary for definitions. Not our fault. Yes, that is true in that she was plucked from obscurity into the national spot light and how was she rewarded? The MSM, and the Obama campaign tried to rip her family life to shreds. She persevered and has made quite a name/career for herself and you have called her cowardly.

The election was lost by McCain’s poor campaign decisions and the consensus-coordinated (Journalist scandal proved), blatantly unfair media attention on Sarah Palin.

The so called “polarizing” of Palin, is wholly due to continued polarization of the MSM against her. Because she is a populist on the right, they must destroy this everyday American at all costs, which is why they continue to offer up spurious attacks on her. Some on the right attack her because they only support the milquetoast, run of the mill, out of touch, business as usual Republicans who have been part of the problem.

We have seen this exact same practice applied by the MSM (and establishment Republicans) towards other popular candidates such as Ron Paul, Ross Perot, Ronald Regan and even TV commentator Pat Buccannan. The same practice will also be applied to Michelle Bachman. You can count on it.

rich, you’re taking apples to an orange festival, guy.

In the apples/oranges bit, you said “widespread unpopularity”, and I pointed out she is right on the heels of Romney in a national pollster’s most recent findings. The fact she’s up there at all belies your incorrect personal assumption. You then point to different polls… none as current as the Gallup, BTW… to say she’s not second, she’s third.

huh? If she were so all fired “unpopular”, as you so strongly want to believe, she wouldn’t be placing near the top without even getting close to declaring candidacy. And using your logic, does that mean the candidates low on the totem pole are “widely unpopular” as well?

As to the RCP you suggest, that’s also incorrect. Per a May 26th RCP headline, she is 2nd to Romney. They refer to the same Gallup poll I linked. If you got to the RCP page of all the latest polls, you’ll see she’s not only 2nd in the Gallup poll, but she and Romney are both tied at 16/16 in the latest the Public Policy polling on 2012 GOP candidates.

If you go to the latest polls page on Rasmussen, you’ll see they have not done a GOP candidate field poll in quite some time, and have only done match ups of individual candidates against Obama, – plus a poll about the upward trend of Republicans in the country, surpassing Democrats by 1.6%.

So I have no clue what your source is, since you are careful not to provide it. I, however, know where to look for the latest polls that are released, and what you claim is simply all in your imagination…. or from extremely dated information.

Does everyone here blame MSM for these poor #’s? I say she’s brought them on herself.

What the heck are you talking about?

@Bill589 said “The fact that, after two years of battle and media attacks against her, she can still stand with the other presidential hopefuls is amazing.”

….uh. That doesn’t equate poll numbers with the press. What it does mean is that no matter what crap the Alaskan Palin haters – aka MudFlaps… er Flats, etal – dig up and try to pass thru as truth, and the national press dutifully following, she’s still standing and very influential. And to that, I notice your little Alinsky trick of naming three candidates out of the 50+ some that won with her midterm support. I guess you never finished your homework, eh? Nice try…. this ol’ broad still has a memory, and that’ crap of yours flies about the same time pigs do.

@johngalt said “I agree that she is a polarizing figure, but much of that is due to the lies and spin of the MSM and pop-culture oxygen bandits.”

@Ditto reiterates when he says: “The election was lost by McCain’s poor campaign decisions and the consensus-coordinated (Journalist scandal proved), blatantly unfair media attention on Sarah Palin.

The so called “polarizing” of Palin, is wholly due to continued polarization of the MSM against her.”

The status of being “polarizing” has nothing to do with poll numbers. Sure you can’t believe that simply because they both start with “p-o-l”, do ya? LOL

Hillary is “polarizing”. Obama is “polarizing”. Pelosi is “polarizing”. Rush is “polarizing”. None of those mentioned here, along with Palin, are going to get high approval from the opposing side. Don’t need it. What matters is the support from within their respective political camps. And, as the numbers show, Palin isn’t the “widespread unpopular” lady you try to envision… save with in your political camp.

News flash.. your POTUS ain’t wildly popular in my camp either.

The nature of “polarizing” is that it brings out the extreme opposites of like or dislike. And since most lib/progs, some conservatives and indys have been suckled on the 2008 immediate onslaught of made up scandals and hyperbole against not only her, but her husband and kids, after her rousing reception as Veep, it’s not surprising she’s “polarizing”. People generally love her, or hate her… just as they do other “polarizing” figures in politics.

There is very little positive press about Palin – and even her family – on the books. But of course, you think she brought that on herself. I’m with johngalt… low, even by your standards. If this is your idea of free press… this scandal desperate, witch hunt type of news/commentary based on the reporter’s personal political leanings… then you and I don’t have much in common.

Anticsrocks I say she’s cowardly if she doesn’t get in.

And why is that? Damned if she does and damned if she doesn’t? Personally, were I Sarah, I wouldn’t mount a campaign this election. But I’m not Sarah. But what I think she’s learned is how to lead the media around by the nose after their assault on her and family. Frankly, I’m laughing my tuckus off at them, eating her emissions and blinding following her around to see where she lands. Those that have declared aren’t getting this attention… they are panting, waiting for an announcement, a hint at scandal, any gaffe they can exploit. Their unhealthy fixation beyond amusing.

I’d say she’s having a ball with them. For once, she has the upper hand on the idiot media, and not them making up lies about her.

    Where’s the links, rich….

And just how does being in the top three out of the field, in any given poll in any given day, square with your “widely unpopular” claim?

She is only “widely unpopular” in the lib/prog circle, just like Obama is “polarizing” and “widely unpopular” in the conservative circle. You’re beating your head against a brick wall, guy. You’re just abominably wrong on all aspects.

rich.. you know if you want to use polling info to back up your imaginary claims, you should at least get them right.

What you are quoting is the RCP *average* not from today, but from April 10th to May 26th. Note all the polls conducted here. Palin has consistently been in the top two, or three, for the majority of these. Hardly “widely unpopular” except among you lib/progs. That’s to be expected. We all love watching you decry your fear and loathing. She really pushes your buttons.

Romney’s been a no secret candidate for quite some time. He’s been campaigning, without declaring, for months. Palin’s been pretty quiet, only recently coming on the scene with political activity and now this bus tour. This is a woman who has the luxury of enough name recognition that she can declare very late in the game… if at all. Whether she declares or not, she’s going to be widely entertaining!

I suggest that if you are looking for an Obama guarantee, you all continue to shove Romney down our throats. Most of the conservatives I know are like me. If it’s a choice between Obama and Obama “Romney” lite, I’m going third party. Since there is no difference, I’m going to allow Obama to eat the fruits of his policies, and not let them be blamed on a fake Republican from MA and a small “r” behind his name.

    Perfect response! Love it!

It’s all over before Illinois voters cast their ballots too. This year we will have to suffer through cross over voting in epic proportions. So, the early states with a minority of conservative voters and dem cross overs will choose the Republican candidate. All imho.

  61. Just listened to Sarah on the Hannity show. She really disappointed Hannity the GOP boy when she stated that
“if the GOP does not begin to listen to the tea party and other Americans there will be a good chance for a third-party this time around.” Paraphrasing. I believe she is right, and glad that she can see the writing on the wall that the GOP and other party die hards refuse to see. It the GOP continues to shove these old establishment contenders down our throats more people than just myself will be driven to a third-party contender. I had to quit years ago the habit of doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results with GOP contenders.

@rich wheeler’s #55: anticsrocks PLEASE go to Bloomberg News Sarah Palin poll. THANKS RJW SORRY FOR INCONVENIENCE

Sorry Rich… still must point out, *WHERE’s THE LINK*!

You sure are one lazy SOB. In addition, you continue to sing the same ol’ song… off key.

There is n no “Bloomberg” poll. The Bloomberg article you must be alluding to… altho who knows since you babble, but never provide substance…. links back to the Gallup poll that has her tied with Romney.

You, of course, must have zero’ed in on te pundit’s second to last paragraph with glee..

Her unfavorable ratings are high; a Quinnipiac University poll released May 4 found that 58 percent of those surveyed said they would never vote for Palin for president.

    Two lessons for you.

    #1: 58% is not 60%
#2: read the damn poll! You’re a fool to believe a pundit.

As I’ve told you over and over, the “unfavorable” for Palin lies mostly with you and your ilk, who would never vote for her anyway. News flash. I don’t care what you think. I doubt any of us care what you think about our candidate. Not about Palin. About Rubio. About anyone. I’m not in the least curious about your predictions or recommendations either.

Back to reality. Rember that 58% you want to tout? Mixed samples. Know what that means? DEMOCRATS WERE ASKED!

    LOL

93% of Democrats said they’d never vote, or would consider voting for her.

Wow… surprise surprise. Who woulda thunk it?

For Republicans… 73% would consider voting or enthusiastically vote for her with only 24% saying “never”.

Wow… another “widely unpopular moment” for you, eh?

Independents… 39% would consider or enthusiastically vote for her. 58% say never.

Weird thing about the Indys tho… they weren’t too “enthused” about anyone. The most “enthused” they were was for Huckabee at 14%. Romney “enthused” was 11% and Palin was 10%.

hum… still top three in enthusiasm amongst those not enthused about anyone.

The highest number for consider/enthusiastic was for Huckabee with 51%. Romney came in next at 50%. Palin came in third for the consider/enthused.

Wow, top three again. And Huck’s still not running, and Palin hasn’t declared.

Since Ron Paul was so low on the totem pole in numbers, and Quinnipac does not provide a breakdown of who the 1000 or so responders were, or ratio of Dem/GOP/Indy, I’m going to take a wild guess they weren’t asking many libertarian type independents for an opinion. They don’t flock to Romney or Huckabee.

Asking just the Republicans (and it’s their business only to pick their candidate… image that!) for their preferred candidate out of Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Mitch Daniels, Tim Pawlenty, Ron Paul, Michelle Bachman, Gary Johnson, Rick Santorum, John Huntsman, and Donald Trump…

    Romney at 18
Palin, Huckabee and the “I haven’t got a clue” crowd are all tied at 15 for second
Trump comes in 3rd with 12

The rest are at 5 or below.

That makes Palin (who may or may not run) and Huck (who is not running) as tied for second STILL against Romney…. and far from being “unfavorable” with conservative voters.

I have no idea what Indys they picked. They all sound like Ivan, who doesn’t like anyone…. or are clueless. Or maybe they called Ivan multiple times, because Trump made a 4th place showing for most. LOL… yeah, Ivan got sucked in by that one. Then again, this was completed on May 4th. Before Trump was such an overt loser visually that even the gullible finally got it, and Palin hadn’t loaded up her family for a summer touring vacation.

In the long run, it will be a race between Obama, and anyone but Obama … unless it’s Romney. Then you’ll be able to keep your POTUS, and continue to suck up the blame for his and your party’s tossing of an ailing economy completely over the cliff for generations. Romney’s nothing but a pale version of Obama.

  65. @ilovebeeswarzone: I would agree with Bee that there is a lot at stake. My point though is that many Americans cannot stomach voting for another GOP contender that is no different than what we have been getting for years now. A third-party might very well lose the election for the GOP, but I agree with Palin, they are not getting the message from the trenches. But your point is right on target.

    they are just beginning to establish the meaning of TEAPARTY although It’s been there a long time now;
AND the steaks are too high on this one, not to fail.
instead they must rally and work together, to allow the best and help the one to rise, and take everything,
but they will form an alliance never encountered in AMERICA TO PROTECT IT AND BE ON GUARD AGAINST THE HATERS THE GREEDYS AND THE ENVIOUS WHO STRIVE TO DESTROY AMERICA FROM WITHIN AND OUT SIDE IT’S BOUNDARY, where they will continiue to try it .

    @Bees

EVERY election, I make the painstaking effort to research each and every candidates, independents and of all parties for all slots as much as is possible. The biggest pain-in-the-A, are the local races where it seems that many of the candidates (and various news agencies) don’t want to provide any information whatsoever on a candidate’s past, their issue positions, or what they would do if elected to office. Aside from the usual standard vague campaign advertizing blurp and an occasional endorsed by statement, You have to surmise from the absence of information, that most of them just want you to elect them based on their name, picture, party affiliation or campaign slogan. If the voters are uninformed, is that really their fault? Or is it the fault of politicians and news media who don’t provide the voters with the information needed to make good election decisions.

(NOTE: I’m unimpressed by endorsements from the firemen’s frappe fraternity, brotherhood of police sergeant’s bowling leagues, yada sisterhood of the blue-jeans or whatever. They can vote for whoever they want to and I neither want or need their advice. Nor am I compelled by little Stepford children who are put in front of a camera and plead for us to vote for a candidate or issue some special interest group wants. )

After learning as much as possible about all candidates, (including examination as much as possible of any political past records or statements,) I vote only for whichever one seems to come closest to supporting my political Point-Of-View (which tends to the same philosophies as this nation’s wisest founding fathers). They may be GOP, Libertarian, DNP, Constitutional-Party or independents.
(I will admit that I rarely find a candidate who agrees with my beliefs, but I try to select those who I think seem more like a responsible Statesmen and will may us the least harm.) If a Libertarian is better than the GOP candidate, he gets my vote, and yes, I would and have voted for a Democrat when the GOP’er was a corrupt POS.
