Scott, thanks for the education. Being a politician or one of those who sits up and begs for scraps from these politicians, apparently requires the ability to lie: not to benefit the country, no the welfare of the country is secondary or not even considered, they must lie to protect themselves and those around them without regard to the servicemen who give their lives in defense of their country and who were regarded as collateral damage or necessary expenditures along the road self-preservation, political gain, and self-aggrandizement. The US planned to seek the death penalty in his case.
On February 5, 2009, the United States dropped all charges against al-Nashiri “without prejudice” to comply with President Obama’s order to shut down the military prison at Guantanamo Bay.

A long time ago a former Navy man told me that Navy ships are never fueled in foreign ports. They are always fueled out to sea. Is this true? Clinton had reduced the military so much that we only had half the tanker ships we usually did. Was this the reason the USS Cole was ordered to fuel in the port?
My brothers said the same thing when the Cole was attacked.

We lost 22 refueling tankers during Clinton/Gore up until the Cole attack.
I remember hearing, at the time, that our men on the deck whose job it was to stand sentry were carrying unloaded weapons.
When a second small boat headed toward the Cole after the explosion these sentries were warned NOT to fire at them.
As if they could with no bullets!
@Nan G: #8 It reminds me of the SEAL team that were ordered by Obama not to fire at the hijackers who had the captain of the ship on their boat. Even when the captain jumped into the water and started swimming away they couldn’t shoot the hijackers.
Later on they finally shot the hijackers and said that it looked like the hijackers were going to shoot the captain. I am guessing that they disobeyed orders and chose the right thing to do. Obama couldn’t punish them without it being out in the open. I would like to know where they are now. Did Obama secretly punish them, or am I letting my imagination go wild.

Can you confirm if Al-Quso got whacked last month? I am writing my yearly letters to the FBI, CIA, Congress, the prez. and Saleh of Yemen. Need a confirmation. Have put out CALLS to the government, but no reponse back as yet.
In my opinion I don’t think they will put Nashiri on trial. He knows to much. It would be a major embarrassment to Clinton, Bush etc…. I heard from two differnent sources that he is going to use the excuse that Saleh or regime told him to do it. The Cole attack is like the Black Sheep of the family, you only bring them up at holidays, and then ignore them the rest of the time.
