Obama/DHS poised to grant amnesty for Hezbollah under Executive Order

Just a month ago, it was a Homeland Security alert that Somalian jihadists would be crossing the TX border. Even now, while Obama’s ever busy legal counsel prepares briefs to file suit against Arizona for their recently enacted immigration law, DHS is considering circumventing existing immigration laws by using an Executive Order to defer action or parole to existing aliens present in the US illegally. An accusation, I might add that DHS doesn’t dismiss when they clarify it may just be “selective” reprieves to the segment of population holding expired visas.

And therein lies the amnesty that Obama and Napolitano will grant to Hezbollah… either by extreme stupidity, or willful ignorance. For the single reality that rises above the point/counterpoint immigration debate is the O’admin stalwartly rejects Mexico border battles as national security, preferring to spin it solely as immigration issue.

But NC’s Representative Sue Myrick may have fired the final shot across the O’admin’s bow, forever altering any ability to spin that perception. Rep. Myrick’s June 23rd letter to Janet Napolitano cites increasing evidence that Iran’s Hezbollah has more than an uncomfortably close relationship to the Mexican drug cartels terrorizing Arizona and other border states.

Thanks to the good work done by the Treasury Department, terrorist organizations like Hezbollah have found it increasingly hard to obtain or transfer funds through financial institutions. As a result, Hezbollah has increased their presence in drug trafficking to obtain funds that cannot be traced.

Many experts believe Hezbollah and drug cartels have been loosely working together for decades. We have seen their cooperation in countries across South America, particularly the tri-border area of South America (bounded by Puerto Iguazu, Argentina; Ciudad del Este, Paraguay; and Foz do Iguazo, Brazil). Hezbollah operates almost like a Mafia family in this region, often demanding protection money and “taxes” from local inhabitants.

In fact, while speaking about Hezbollah and the drug cartels, former Chief of Operations for the Drug Enforcement Administration, Michael Braun stated: “Hezbollah relies on the same criminal weapons smugglers, document traffickers and transportation experts as the drug cartel…They work together; they rely on the same shadow facilitators. One way or another they are all connected.”

The connection between Hezbollah and the drug cartels has seemed to grow over the past few years. This may be especially true on the US Southern border.

Across states in the Southwest, well trained officials are beginning to notice the tattoos of gang members in prisons are being written in Farsi. We have typically seen tattoos in Arabic, but Farsi implies a Persian influence that can likely be traced back to Iran and its proxy army, Hezbollah. These tattoos in Farsi are almost always seen in combination with gang or drug cartel tattoos. These combinations have been increasing in number and point to the fact that these criminals are tied to both Hezbollah and gangs and drug cartels.

Former intelligence officials have pointed to the terrain that makes up our border, especially in the San Diego border sector, as a reason why drug cartels have been partnering with Hezbollah. This terrain is very much like the areas around Israel’s borders. As we well know, Hezbollah is extremely skilled in the construction of tunnels. Israel has time and again found Hezbollah tunnels leading into Israel, some of which are large enough to accommodate trucks. Likewise, these intelligence officials say that the drug cartels, in an effort to dig larger and more effective tunnels, are employing the expertise of Hezbollah. For their expertise, Hezbollah could be receiving a cut of the drug money or even be helping put cash up front to assist in the overall drug operations.

Hezbollah members are suspected of learning Spanish in Chavez’s Venezuela, then obtaining false documentation to enter the US as Hispanics. Documention… get that? This documentation potentially, and likely, brings them under the protection of Obama and DHS’s proposed “selective segment of population” that can be granted amnesty with the EO.

Nor have we much of an ally in Mexican President, Felipe Calderon. Rep Myrick has been keeping a close eye on Calderon since his Mexican SOTU address back in Sept 2007, when he clearly stated his visions of Mexico knew no boundaries, and that “Mexico does not end at the border. Wherever there is a Mexican, Mexico will be there.” From Calderon’s speech INRE US immmigration policies:

“Finally, I have said that Mexico does not end at the border, that wherever there is a Mexican Mexico is there; this is why the actions of the Government in favor of our migrating countrymen is guided by principles, by the defense and protection of their rights, by prevention for detecting measures that may affect our people and by the professionalism we must offer our co-nationals.

For this reason, we are already using all the resources of our consular network for the benefit of Mexicans abroad.

On behalf of the Mexican Government, I again strongly protest the unilateral measures taken by the United States Congress and Government, measures that are making the persecution and humiliating treatment of undocumented Mexican workers worse.

The insensitivity shown toward those who contribute a great deal to the economy and to society in the United States has been incentive to redouble our battle to gain recognition of their enormous contribution to the economies of both nations and to defend their rights.

Therefore, the Government of Mexico will continue to firmly insist to both countries’ societies and Governments on the necessity of comprehensive immigration reform and of categorically rejecting construction of a wall on our common border.

Calderon, enjoying the support of our own POTUS, is incensed at Arizona’s immigration law that allows law enforcement to demand proof of citizenship on any detention for probable cause INRE other tort violations.

In addition, Iran has been quietly, but persistently, nurturing increased trade ties with Mexico, holding regular meetings of a Tehran-Mexico City joint economic commission. In February 2009, Iran’s ruling clerics sent emissaries to Calderon for the first time since deposing of the Shah, focused on increasing “…political, cultural and economic arenas” between the two nations…. just as Ahmadinejad as done with most of Mexico’s Central American neighbors.

By Nov 2009, Mexico and Iran had been trading “energy” experts:

Annual trade between Iran and Mexico has not yet reached the level that some of Mexico’s neighbors enjoy with the Islamic Republic. According to remarks made by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Reza Salari during an official visit to Mexico City in February 2009, Iranian trade with Mexico was a mere $50 million, far below Iran’s $2 billion annual trade with Brazil.[3] “We are here to investigate, why so low?” Salari told reporters. “With Mexico, there is absolutely no political problem between us. No cultural problems. It shows we have many shortcomings in our trade relations.”

Salari continued to say that Iran sees opportunities to expand tourism and energy cooperation with Mexico, but has said that such efforts are still only in the planning stages.[4] Mexican House of Representatives Speaker Ruth Sayala has called the two sides’ cooperation “very important” and has said that Mexico is interested in learning from Iran’s experience in the energy sector.[5]

According to Mexican Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs Lourdes Aranda, the Mexican government presented a bill to parliament that claimed that Mexico was willing to use Iranian experience to help increase energy efficiency. The two countries subsequently agreed to exchange energy experts.[6] Not long after in 2008, Mexico and Iran held a joint economic commission meeting in Tehran where they discussed increasing their bilateral economic cooperation.[7]

To appeal to a poverty-ridden Mexico’s bottom line is a clever, and likely successful back door entry to more serious trade partners in the future. As Calderon sees the US as increasingly strict in immigration, with a consumer population that will (according to Obama and Geither) no longer be “dependable” on driving the world economy, Iran’s appeal is going to be elevated.

And the O’admin state department? When a spokesman was confronted with the Iranian activities – embarrassingly which were commencing simultaneous to Clinton’s and Napolitano’s April 2009 visit to Mexico – he/she was genuinely caught with his intel pants down.

In contrast, Iran’s outreach in Mexico has proceeded with scarcely any public mention. The overtures took place (by design or not) amid the distractions of visits to Mexico by high-ranking U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Homeland Security Department Secretary Janet Napolitano, to discuss supporting Mexico in its war against rampaging drug cartels.

“This is the first I’ve probably ever heard about this,” said a State Department official closely involved in bilateral diplomacy and high-level American visits to Mexico. “And to tell you the truth it’s probably something that’s not going to come up (during the official U.S. diplomatic visits) — unless it’s somehow forced onto the agenda.”

Andy Lane, a State Department spokesman in Washington D.C., appeared unaware of the Iranian proposal when a GlobalPost reporter called on the eve of Clinton’s Mexico visit.

After seeking the administration’s response, Lane called back: “Many countries in the hemisphere have relations with Iran, and it is their sovereign right to pursue relations with any country that they choose.” Lane said he was not authorized to elaborate.

Well, Mr. Lane… Ms. Clinton… and Ms. Napolitano… can we consider Iran’s relationship with Mexico now “forced onto the agenda” in light of all these Farsi tattoo’d illegals in detention? And will the O’admin acknowledge that our southern border, and AZ, have irrevocably crossed that chasm from being about immigration, and is now firmly entrenched as a matter of national security?

Not likely….

Based on realities on the ground, any Obama EO on “selective reprieves” for expired visa holding “Hispanics”, who just may be from Iran, now reeks of amnesty for terrorists. And this shall not stand.

35 Responses to Obama/DHS poised to grant amnesty for Hezbollah under Executive Order

To clarify the “selective reprieve” quest, from the Fox News article linked above:

“DHS does not grant deferred action without a review of relevant facts,” the statement said. “To be clear, DHS will not grant deferred action to the nation’s entire illegal immigrant population.”

Congresswoman Raises Red Flag on Hezbollah-Cartel Nexus on U.S. Border The Department of Homeland Security expressed the administration’s support for the recently unveiled Senate immigration overhaul, calling it “a step in the right direction.”

But several sources said it was their understanding that the administration has been discussing alternatives to congressional action.

Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, said he’s spoken with people contacted by the White House for their opinion on ways to provide “amnesty for a large number of people.”

The congressman said the administration is either considering the option or floating it as a trial balloon for “leverage” to pass the immigration bill.

“It’s one or it’s the other,” he said.

In a separate interview, a former Bush official claimed to have spoken with at least people involved in the administration talks on the subject and said at the minimum, the administration was “studying legal ways to legalize people without having to go through any congressional debate about it.”

The former official said targeting the segment of the population that had overstayed visas could work, though such a plan would be “woefully inappropriate.”

The Department of Homeland Security estimated last year that 10.8 million undocumented residents live in the United States — the Pew Hispanic Center, which has a similar count, estimated in 2006 that at least 4 million of them overstayed their visas.

If Hezbollah create false documentation, posing as Hispanics with visas, they fall under this large “selective reprieve” category for amnesty.

    Once again…I am outraged.

Don’t see how this can possibly be legal…even if it isn’t the damage will already be done.

Where is the msm, where are the repubs screaming with outrage in unison regarding this along with the other EO’s planned via the DHS for Amnesty to millions of hispanic illegals, color me beet red with fury.

    One word, if this happens…revolution.

Diamond Girl, I believe the way they slip it by is the ability for any agency to voluntarily “turn a blind eye” to enforcing their own regulations… i.e. the “defer action and parole” description. It’s the same as a nation who would plead with EPA to “turn a blind eye” to the oil-in-water discharge limit of 15ppm mandate in order to allow Dutch cleaning equipment to come in.

So would it be legal? My guess is yes. They aren’t changing policy. Just choosing to not enforce some regs, so to speak.

At least eight Republicans are indeed protesting, as is witnessed by their letter to that temporary occupant of the WH. The real worry is the bad guys that get swept up in that net of reprieves.

Mr Irons, I believe the intent is to save time, with just a wave of the POTUS hand, granting those with expired visas legal grace and entry. But when one examines those who may have these visas…. which can be falsified…. it seems that the potential terrorists have a leg up on the poor immigrants who can’t afford a bogus document for entry.

When does all this Administration’s “end run around the Constitution” shenanigans FINALLY become impeachable?

And, when will Congress (both Houses) face REAL SANCTIONS WITH TEETH for passing bill after bill without even bothering to READ the damn things?

I cannot in a civilized blog adequately express my disdain for the creatures currently inhabiting Washington DC. The fact that these –people– were duly elected by supposedly rational and informed citizens of the USA astounds me. And what grates on me more, is that these duly-elected representatives are thumbing their noses at their constituents’ wishes and interests and are instead following –what? The dictates of their own consciences? Somehow I doubt that there are that many identical “consciences” among representatives from Nebraska to Nevada to New Jersey… which means they’re serving SOMETHING OTHER THAN THE PUBLIC GOOD.

I’ve gone way past tar and feathers, and am looking for something more like Nuremburg trials…

It is an attractive thought – maybe 13 or 14 states out of the 50 remain members of the Federal Government on each coast (and IL), and the remaining 36 (or 43, by Obama’s count) form a United States based on, oh, I dunno, the Constitution maybe? It’d be kind of fun to do it while the President was on an apology tour and Congress was in session – cut the lot of them off and let them shop for constituents.

Wonder if the MSM would report it?

Strangly enough, the Army has changed its main training, and tactical doctrine, from one of Major Conflict Firepower, to one of Anti Insurgency training.

When this was first done last year, I commented on the fact that this takes us from a WAR fighting army, to an occupation army… and one that could be used against our own populace.

Sadly, most can’t see the Forest, for the Trees.

All of us are deeply disturbed about the terrible acts of the drug cartels in Mexico, now
infilterating into Arizona. The recent revelations about Hezbollah penetrating the U.S. border
as discussed by MataHarley are probably just the tip of the iceberg. (Great article, M.H.)
The question that I would like to address is: Are Foreign troops now posed at the Mexican/American border? In my blogs I have come across a number of accounts of
Mexicans and Americans who have witnessed Chinese and other foreign troops on the Mexican border undergoing drills. I have my own conclusions. Appreciate any feedback.

    A few random thoughts:
First, waaay back after 9/11, alert minds around here thought that it would be a snap for black haired, olive skinned ME types to slip over the border with the black haired, olive skinned Hispanic types. No one thought of it as racist, and as far as I know no one took extra care about it either.

Second, people who get tattoos aren’t thinking anyway, or they are being defiant; but all the gangs have their artistic ways of calligraphy to somewhat disguise their messages, most people who saw a Farsi tattoo would probably just think it was a bad job or gang graffiti.

Third, in all the commentary I read daily I have seen one (1) person hit on the fact that if all the
people who have overstayed their visa are given amnesty, that would very possibly include the Resident, if as I believe he is not an American citizen by virtue of adoption if not other reasons.

Fourth, I wish someone from PA would write to the Arizona Republic about the drivel story on today’s front page. Summary, poor terrified illegal family piles in the old jalopy and sneaks out of town at night to escape the draconian crackdown on aliens (SB1070 goes into effect July 29). After a harrowing moonlight trip, they breath a sigh of relief when they are safely in Utah. After that they spend all their money on gas getting further into the US and finally collapse in the welcoming arms of their extended family in PA. They went to PA because there are plenty of jobs there. And of course they aren’t racist there. Comment, PA?

p.s. to my comments that seem to be in the spam filter:

Here’s another article from the AZ Respooblik (for you Russian speakers). This is about the illegals that don’t make it. I’m a little surprised at the body count mentioned. I thought we were getting over 600/year out of the desert. The horror of all these people dying in the desert is hard to bear for anyone with a shred of compassion, and leads to the argument that we should be nicer to them. I say we need to make it clearer that coming here is wrong. The Mexican govt., bless their hearts, did put out a pamphlet for would-be border crossers, advising them about water, where the roads are, how to contact the Border Patrol if things get too bad….

Patter, INRE the sob story of the illegal immigrants with three kids, who bolted for PA…. unbelievable. Looks like, by the accompanying photo, the reporter (Daniel Gonzales) traveled with them to get the details. And what a bunch of hooey…

First of all, they weren’t harassed, but terrified all the way of being harassased. Talk about hype. Now maybe if they had been shaken down on the road, it would have been another story. But I guess our shake-down-community organizer-in-chief was on the golf course.

Then the reporter plays on their fears that they will be deported, and separated from their children.

Supporters of the law say it does not allow racial profiling. But Luis and Marlen are unconvinced. They think that once the law takes effect, police in Arizona will stop anyone who looks Mexican to check their papers. They fear they would be deported, their children left behind.

They built a life and a family in Arizona, so the thought of leaving brought them and their children to tears. But to them, the alternative was even worse.

“That is why we decided to leave, before something happens,” Luis said.

What horse manure to be printed. All sob story hyperbole about things that never happened, as well as fears about family separations that were unfounded. It has already been stated that families will not be broken up. Absurd on the surface since why would the nation deport the parents, and then assume the fiscal responsibilities of the children as a ward of the state? duh

And why did they choose to remain in the country instead of going back? The kids were whining…

No one knows how many undocumented immigrants will eventually leave Arizona. But anecdotal evidence suggests that many families are going to other parts of the United States, not returning to their own countries.

“If things are bad here, they are much worse in Mexico,” said Salvador, an undocumented immigrant who has lived in Arizona for 18 years. He is the godfather of Luis’ daughter, Vanessa.

“There is no work in Mexico,” Salvador said. “And then you have to deal with the sicarios,” he said, referring to the hit men who carry out assassinations for the drug cartels. Salvador knows Mexican families moving to Oregon, California, Texas, Chicago, New York.

Despite the lack of jobs and the violence, Luis and Marlen say they considered returning to Mexico. But their children balked.

“They cried,” Marlen said. “They got mad.”

The children consider the United States their country. Not Mexico, she said.

Really? Now what would our diplomats do if their kids raised a ruckus when the had to relocate to a different country for their appointments, I wonder? Just who is the adult in the family here?

    Then this…

Lawyers have told Luis and Marlen that they do not qualify for legal residency.

Followed later in the article by this

Arriving in Pennsylvania is bittersweet. Luis and Marlen have been crying a lot in the car. They are excited to see their relatives. But they know there is little chance of going back to Arizona. And soon the hard part will begin. Beginning new jobs. Getting an apartment. Making new friends. Starting over. Marlen makes a vow. If she ever gets her green card, she will return to Arizona.

So they don’t “qualify” for legal residency. Ever? Why? Do either of the parents have a felony on their record, or isn’t that detail important for the article? A bit cryptic there, don’t you think? Otherwise there are paths to citizenship, upon which they should embark.

But, I will say I’d rather have Luis and Marlen here than the Hezbollah, or any of the terrorists who have manufactured or legally obtained documents and visas to get into this country. And yet it’s those that are connected with the underworld well enough to get these papers – and afford them – who will get a pass from the O’admin.

It’s everyday fare for the paper that was once named the Arizona Republican. Repulsive or Respooblik is more like it now. The poor, poor immigrants. They are so fearful. Evil racist Republican Tea Baggers hate the brownies. /s No word on the Reconquistas–some editorials about Tucson hate schools, but the apologists get more column space, I think.
The paper keeps bringing up Balsz School district as an indicator of how many have left. They never mention that Balsz district, along with Murphy and a couple of others, have always had such a high percentage of illegals that they have incredible turnover rates, like 30% or more, very routinely. (that is, at the end of the semester, 30% of the children are not the ones they started with) This has many implications for school funding, health issues (e.g. whooping cough epidemics), follow-up on every social thing. It’s another distortion.
I get so angry at the paper. It’s so poor now. I don’t know who they are trying to impress. For a while, about 6 months, I would get a weekly summary of the news in Spanish, a free version of the Republic delivered to my doorstep. Probably because I live in an area that’s practically been a barrio for years. But I don’t think most of the people who need to read the paper are reading it in Spanish. I know that subscribers were probably paying for those free unread papers with a contribution to the “Newspapers in Education” fund, a charity which furnishes papers to schools. Not giving to that one, ever. I can imagine how the paper could be used.

Hankster58, don’t know which story Rally was pointing to specifically, but this was the story from the CBS coverage.

(AP) PORT CHESTER, N.Y. (AP) – Arthur Furano voted early – five days before Election Day. And he voted often, flipping the lever six times for his favorite candidate.

Furano cast multiple votes on the instructions of a federal judge and the U.S. Department of Justice as part of a new election system crafted to help boost Hispanic representation.

Voters in Port Chester, 25 miles northeast of New York City, are electing village trustees for the first time since the federal government alleged in 2006 that the existing election system was unfair. The election ends Tuesday and results are expected late Tuesday.

Although the village of about 30,000 residents is nearly half Hispanic, no Latino had ever been elected to any of the six trustee seats, which until now were chosen in a conventional at-large election. Most voters were white, and white candidates always won.

Federal Judge Stephen Robinson said that violated the Voting Rights Act, and he approved a remedy suggested by village officials: a system called cumulative voting, in which residents get six votes each to apportion as they wish among the candidates. He rejected a government proposal to break the village into six districts, including one that took in heavily Hispanic areas.

Furano and his wife, Gloria Furano, voted Thursday.

“That was very strange,” Arthur Furano, 80, said after voting. “I’m not sure I liked it. All my life, I’ve heard, ‘one man, one vote.’”

It’s the first time any municipality in New York has used cumulative voting, said Amy Ngai, a director at FairVote, a nonprofit election research and reform group that has been hired to consult. @A_Nonny_Mouse: Some blog that I don’t remember took the text of the Declaration Of Independence and replaced King George with Obama and replaced a few other words and it fit the situation of today. It won’t take long for you to go through and do it yourself. You will be amazed at how it fits how things are right now.

I went through and changed it and sent it to the Republican National Committee, several Tea Parties, my politicians, friends, etc. I color coded it for the words that were replaced and parts that are just like they are now. I would like to see millions of people send their politicians what I call the “Declaration Of Independence From King Obama.”

You mentioned the Nuremburg trials. I would like to see a non-politician Political Crimes Tribunal set up just like the War Crimes Tribunal that would only go after politicians who used their office for illegal purposes. There would be no statute of limitations. This would at least make a politician think real hard before they did something they knew to be illegal.
