I saw Tom Coburn calling the Dems out. He is the man! The President can appoint anyone he wants, but the Senate has to confirm and the GOP is going to put a hold on every Dem that sells their vote. Outstanding. The House and Senate GOP just declared war and should be looking for reinforcements in about 8 months.
@Aqua: correction: Obama and the Dems “declared war” on the Constitution and the American people and Republicans are defending.
I encourage everyone to watch GOP Whip Cantor introduce his resolution:
Cantor will be on Hannity on Fox News Thursday night.
Follow Cantor at the Whip Blog:

@ Mike
More like they bombed Pearl Harbor and the GOP declared war. What’s more interesting right now is how some of the States are taking this. Idaho has already passed a resolution and their governor has signed it, to sue the Feds should this pass. Virginia is going the same route and 36 other states are considering resolutions. I have no idea where all of this is going, but it isn’t good for the country, not good at all.
Progressives aren’t interested in what is best for this country, only what advances their agenda…
Watched BHO interviewed by Bret Baier (sp) on Fox. BHO said he did not know what was in the healthcare bill. SAY WHAT????
Nancy Pelosi made the comment “We need to pass this bill so we can find out what’s in it”. Again, SAY WHAT???
If they don’t know what is in this bill, how can they possibly with a straight face tell the nation “This is good for you”?
Are these people as stupid as they appear? Hopefully the GOP and a few decent dems will stop this insanity.
Madalyn
It is fundamentally impossible for them to be as stupid as they appear.
@Madalyn: Yeah, Obama said he didn’t know what was in the bill but Congress should pass it anyway.
Is it any wonder his approval rating is below his disapproval rating for the first time in the Gallup poll:
This ‘ObamaCare’ is disgusting, there’s more pork in it than a herd of swine.
.
they should check it out, there must be something in the WATER they drink with OBAMA.
GOPers were all for “deem and pass” until they were against it. Ditto reconciliation. But you can’t argue against health care reform on the merits (cost, effectiveness in reducing the deficit, abortion, expanding coverage, eliminating pre-existing conditions, reducing uncompensated care) so all you have left is an intellectually inconsiste argument about . . . the voting process? How weak can you get?
Another nail in the opposition’s coffin:
“Editorial: National Catholic Reporter backs health bill”
http://ncronline.org/news/politics/editorial-national-catholic-reporter-backs-health-bill
Cons, face facts: you have lost. Despite your best efforts, 31 million people will get health care insurance, hospitals will get relief, insurance companies will get the purchase mandate they need to lower premiums, and the deficit will be reduced from what it would be if you had your way. Defeat sucks, I know, but get used to it. Because banking reform and immigration reform are up next! LOL!
BRob, the 10th Amendment to the US Constitution reserves varied and many powers to the Individual States. One of which is the Regulation of All Forms of Insurance, Auto, Property, Fire, Health in total.
Read it some time.
BRob, does it ever get tiring to be wrong so often?
Can you show me a time in American history when reconciliation was used without the majority support of both parties?
Can you show me a time in American history where “deem and pass” was ever used without the majority support of both parties?
You can’t, because they’ve never happened.
No Congress has ever breached the Constitution to the degree that this Congress proposes to do, and no Congress has ever more aggressively shut out the opposition party and disenfranchised the representatives of half the nation’s people. They changed the locks on the committee door to keep Republicans out, for pete’s sake! Those Republicans are representatives of American PEOPLE, BRob. Those people deserve representation in their government.
So while you sit and ponder your next sanctimonious and ignorant post, BRob, consider this: how will you feel when your elected representatives are in the minority again (January 2011), and the committee door locks are changed to exclude their voices from being heard, where the Slaughter rule is used against your party to enact legislation that would never have bipartisan support?
@BRob: Make sure you keep a fresh pair of boxer shorts around for after the vote, billy bob…..
it is easy to approve for a congregation who have free ticket on almost every thing, they approve only half way, that means they do not approve all the way
@Nuada: Thank you for saving me the trouble.
But don’t expect THE TRUTH to have any impact on ole Butrub above. All he is capable of is regurgitating the latest George Soros provided talking point. There’s no original thought behind his comments.
B ROB are you the only one who read the2300 page bill? bye
RBob #11 – You say us conservatives have lost. What you don’t seem to be able to grasp is that if this horrible monstrosity passes, the whole country loses. You need to face facts. What else is hidden in this farce that hasn’t come out yet besides student loans. You are so smart, maybe you can explain what student loans have to do with health care other than the fact it is another power grab by this pretender in chief. He will obviously stop at nothing to turn our free country into a socialist government. Also, the CBO has not come out with a dollar amount, but the dems are going around saying they are “giddy” about the cost. They are putting out false information to the general public. We as concerned citizens are only trying to put out to the general public the truth, not what you liberals “deem” (get that??) to be the truth.
Madalyn
That’s all well and good but REMEMBER…these are DEMOCRATS!!! Their word is MEANINGLESS. The point–they could come out as a NO vote against the senate bill, but give a YES vote on the fraudulent “reconciliation” measure on Saturday/Sunday. Don’t put such pathetic parsing past these people.
BRob
I can’t help but notice your list includes everything but the jelly doughnut crapping unicorns.
Nuada –
You are making no sense whatsoever. You wrote: “Can you show me a time in American history when reconciliation was used without the majority support of both parties? Can you show me a time in American history where “deem and pass” was ever used without the majority support of both parties?”
I think what you are trying to imply is that when reconciliation and “deem and pass” have been used in the past, that both majority margins included people from the minority party. Is that what you mean? OK.
And my response is
“So what?” “Who cares?” It is irrelevant if those votes had one of two weak sister Dems taggin along with the cons.
You are implying that bipartisan support is some kind of mark of credibility. Er, not really. How is a vote of 51-50 in the Senate, with the one vote margin granted by Veep Cheney, more legitimate than a 59-41 vote, where Dems and two independents provide the margin? 59-41 means that MORE PEOPLE SUPPORTED IT. So how is having MORE SUPPORT for a bill less legitimate than when other bills passed with less support than 59-41?
What an entitlement mentality you cons have! You would have a system where even a majority vote is not “legitimate” and dose not “count” unless one of the minority is included. An interesting system, but I bet no democracy in the world has such a rule. Why? Because it gives a veto to the LOSERS! This is America! There are winners and losers, and the majority rules! This is not T-ball where score is not kept and every kid gets a trophy! You lost the election, so now the Dems get to “shove down your throat” legislation you don’t like — the exact same way you shoved down their throats legislation they did not like using the exact same reconciliation and deem and pass mechanism you now claim are illegitimate. What gall!
You want to block Dem proposals? Why don’t you do what you cons did from 1994 through 2006 — have more GOPers in the House than the Dems do!
As usual, I have done billy bob’s homework. Instances of the Enrollment Bill Rule, as well as the resolution/”deeming” special rule changes, are cited, along with much more data, in my new post.
And the answer is, there has never been an entire “bill” using this procedure. Amendments, corrections? Yes…. A bill of this size and magnitude? Never.
And throughout history, both parties have utilized this to address amendments, etc. Only the pertinent fact is back in 2006, when it was used to reconcile clerical text errors in the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, Waxman and Pelosi were screaming about how it was unConstitutional.
Oh what a difference a few years, and an impotent, disagreeable supermajority, can make. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
B ROB do not rub it in because the smart ones are here and they are coming sooner than you think bye
Sh*t. Dumb as a box of hair.
I’m sorry PatVann, but I’ve got a box of hair that is twice as smart as a B-Rob and now my box of hair is feeling slighted.
DONALD BLY thank’s for the clue, i thought PATVANN was angry at me,
@Don
Please beg forgiveness of your box of hair from me. I didn’t realise it was within ear-reach.
Dumb as a trout. Yeah. That’ll work.
Okay… what’s this assault on trout, guys? I swear, any self respecting trout has more “school” experience than billy bob.
Mata is right. Trout are useful at least. Brob, not so much…
We’ll be hearing from PETA over this insult…
BRob said; “You want to block Dem proposals? Why don’t you do what you cons did from 1994 through 2006 — have more GOPers in the House than the Dems do!”
Having a majority is not a must, thank goodness.
@ Iluvbee’s
I am so sorry! I can assure you 100% that I will never be mad at you. (I should have placed the “@brob”.)
Of course now I have my Blog-mom mad at me for dissin the fishes!
Brob’s stupidity is obviously on it’s own level. There are very few lifeforms that are willfully stupid. It’s so low, that it actually sucks away small amounts of intellect from the reader of his tripe through the monitor, and then gets disbursed via the heat-sinks at the server-farm.
Try to minimize exposure.
Domesticated turkey’s are pretty stupid…. do you suppose that if we put B-Rob in the yard during a nice rain… he’d drown?
@Don
Yes, but we would have to tell him which direction the rain is coming from, so he aims his head up.
PATVAN i like you too,say hi to your MOM,bye
I am not a mathematician, but can anyone explain to me how you can add 30M people to Medicare and/or Medicaid and still make money? How can you make pre-existing conditions mandatory to be paid for and still make money? If anyone can explain that to me, I will take my hat off to them. Seems the dems are only interested in blah, blah, smarny, smarny, lie, lie, lie, etc. The govt will do to medicare/medicaid like they did social security. A democratic president (L Johnson) took social security money out and put it in the general fund, and it has been a regular thing now. I paid into social security. Keep your FILTHY hands off it. Leave me and my family alone! Obama, you and Pelosi are mentally unstable. Go back to the gutter you crawled out of.
Madalyn
PS – to answer my first question? It can only be done if you are a democrat and use “funny math” to come up with the numbers.
@ Madalyn… you ask how we can add 30 million to the insurance roles and still make money? Get ready to take your hat off as I have the answer.
First you corner the market on ink, then you get a buttload of printing presses. You get the engravers at the US Mint to come up with some nice bust of Obama The One and you create a $100,000 Obama Bill and you run those presses 24/7. We’ll need ‘em in denominations at least that big because it will take $500,000 to buy a loaf of bread. This has the added benefit of wealth redistribution as inflation acts as a universal tax on anyone rich enough to have uninvested cash laying around. The rest of us won”t care because we’ll be living in Gov housing, eating at the government soup kitchen, driving a Government Motors provided car, if we get to have a car at all as driving a car will be a province of the political elites, the rest of us will be provided with a transit pass.

No this is Obamacare where no score is kept and every “kid” gets the health care trophy whether they’ve earned the money to pay for it or not.
FYI Mr Dumb as a domesticated turkey… the direction of the rain will be vertical, from top to bottom. Now go play in the rain.
