Speaking of barking dogs, the Stimulus bill was such a Christmas present to libs everywhere the following is appropriate regardless of the season:
I wrote a lot about this last year and actually recently updated my main post on the stimulus package here – http://geekpolitics.com/government-stimulus-package/. The wasteful spending is a joke, and the fact that they want to do more of it just kills me. The definition of insanity is repeating the same behavior expecting different results. It didn’t create jobs. It did waste money. Doing it again on any scale will do the same thing.
Great opener on the Glenn Beck show Wednesday. A special for the first anniversary of the Stimulus Bill. Cue to the 1:47 mark to see Obama say “If nothing is done this recession could linger for years and the unemployment rate could reach double digits.”
@Derek Clark: Only one quibble with your updated post: The cost is higher than $800 billion. Congressional Budget Office shows the bill will cost $75 billion more than the initial pricetag of $787 billion. And if you add on the cost of borrowing the money to pay for it, the cost rises to over a $trillion.

I was rounding off for easy math, but good catch. It was actually 787 originally putting it up to 862 billion which is a significant difference. I fixed the numbers to reflect that. The cost of borrowing is another thing that most people don’t take into account. The more we borrow the more expensive it is getting as well. It’s really got to stop.
