Do Felons Deserve a Second Chance, Obama Thinks So [Reader Post]

Loading

Should convicted felons be given a second chance? Barack Obama thinks so, and he thinks the tax payers should have to foot the bill. He made his view on this issue more than evident during a town hall meeting in Elyria, Ohio on January 22nd. Here is a excerpt from this Ohio town hall meeting, where a 29 year old felon who has never had a job in his life asks Obama if he will help felons get a job.

Jerome the felon asks Obama:

“I’m 29 years old, and I’ve never had a job in my life. I went to jail when I was younger. It’s like hard to get a job as a felon. Is this — any programs that hire people with felonies like something that — because it’s sad, it’s like — 29 years old, I’m 29.”

Obama Answers Jerome:

“Look, I’m proud of the fact that you’re bringing this up because there are people who’ve made mistakes, particularly when they’re young, and it is in all of our interests to help them redeem themselves and then get on a straight path. Now, I don’t blame employers obviously for being nervous about hiring somebody who has a record. It’s natural if they’ve got a lot of applicants for every single job that that’s a question that they’d have in their minds. On the other hand, I think one of the great things about America is we give people second chances.

And so what we’ve tried to do — and I want to say, this has been a bipartisan effort — when I was in the Senate, working with Sam Brownback; my Vice President, Joe Biden — passing a Second Chance Act that helps to fund programs that help the reintegration of ex-felons.

It’s smart for us to do. You know, sometimes people say, well, that’s just coddling people. No; you reduce the recidivism rate, they pay taxes, it ends up being smart for taxpayers to do.”

Shame on Jerome, if he really wanted a job he could get one. He is playing the victim card. In reality he is only a victim of his own bad decisions. Taxpayers already pay for convicts to be in prison, now Obama wants us to pay to get them a job? Don’t get me wrong, I believe everyone(well, almost everyone) deserves a second chance, but it is not the responsibility of everyone else to provide that second chance.

Now before you start sending me nasty emails saying “you are stupid, and you just don’t understand how hard it is for felons to get a job.” Please allow me to stray from the beaten path for a moment and tell you a bit about my own experience.

I am a convicted felon. Five felonies to be exact. I spent the later part of my teenage years (15-19 years old) as a drug addict. Between ages 18 – 19, I lived out of the back of an Oldsmobile, and skipped around from job to job (i kept getting fired for some odd reason, hmm) to raise money for my heroin habit. I continued this pattern of living until I was finally arrested, charged with 9 felonies, convicted of 5 felonies, and sentenced to 1 year and 2 months in prison. One day, as I was sitting in my cell, I thought to myself, “this isn’t the life I want. I want something better, and I’m going to get.” So I made a plan for what I was going to do when I got out, and I decided to use my time in there wisely by educating myself. I started studying college algebra, then moved on to calculus and finally computer science. I also applied for college while I was in prison, so I could attend as soon as I got out. My release day came, and guess what, I went out and got a job flipping burgers the next day.

I worked the early shift at my new job . Public buses didn’t run that early in the morning(in VA, if you receive a felony conviction you lose your license), so I walked to work, 5 miles, every morning. When my shift was over, I hoped on a bus, and went to the local community college to take a couple of classes. When I got out of class the buses weren’t running so I walked home, 4 miles, every night. This process repeated everyday for 9 months until I finally saved up enough money to pay off all of my court costs, and go through all of the red tape required to get my license back. When I finally got my license and my car back, I went out searching for a new, better job. I found 2 jobs. Who would have thought that a convict could get 2 jobs (Jerome couldn’t seem to find 1 in 29 years). I met a wonderful girl at one of these jobs, and we eventually got hitched! Fast forward 4 years and I am happily married, the proud owner of a brand new home, 6.5 years sober, have a good job, and I am almost done with a bachelors degree in computer science (I pay my own way through school, so I only take as many classes as I can afford).

I told you this story to tell you this. I know it is hard to get a job if you are a felon. I do understand. However, if you are a felon, you are not a victim of society, you are a victim of your actions. It is not the responsibility of tax payers to provide you with a second, it is your responsibility. In the United States there are infinite possibilities for a second chance, but you have to go out and get it. It will not come to you. Don’t let your criminal record hold you back, use it as a lesson in life. If you work hard, pursue your dreams, and strive to be a good citizen, good things will happen. That is the beauty of liberty and freedom, you have every opportunity to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get on the right track in life. How could you not love a country that has allowed a drug addicted, homeless convict to become a sober, homeowner, with a beautiful wife, and lives the American dream everyday. God Bless America!

From notonmyown,
I was convicted for a crime that was committed by my temp guardian. So because I was not on my own I got charged as a convicted felon for my entire adult life. I am am American, its a miracle that Im still alive. With no real resources to provide a life for myself. And no protection from dangerous people because I cannot bear arms and cannot vote. I am 42 years old, for over 20 years I have lived the life of an accused convicted felon of a strong armed robbery that was committed by another person. How am I supposed to feel about our American value system or the judicial system when I myself have never received justice for what occurred that day, 23 years ago.
Today, I am the witness of many people who have criminal intentions and because of my criminal history, deliberately attempt to commit crimes , especially while at work on the clock, simply because they learn that I am on the clock working and via. I myself have a criminal record, and they themselves records are squeaky clean. This is an extraordinary but very real experience and it occurs on a consist basis. Which ultimately prevents me from succeeding in making a career path. Because of free access to computerized information technology and the ill mindedness of competitive coworkers who cant do anything right, but thoroughly question and research another aspiring employee, I seem to forever become the prime candidate to group discrimination while on the job. This is all due to my display of candidacy at the workplace. Which apparently tends to irritate other co-workers far too often not to go unnoticed. Yet, they openly contribute their distaste for me and my criminal record among other coworkers meanwhile becoming more and more agitated that their criminal intentions are being diverted by my actions. At the end of the day though they will remain and I will nontheless be out of a job again. Can anyone help me, Im so tired of all the bureaucratic games and politicians promises. This ordeal is very absurd, and a mockery to the American dream.

hi, just say they are rotten and by hasseling you they show their inner self,

My son was conficted of a felony at age 18. It was a victimless crime – a misunderstanding. He did not steal anything. He did not hurt anyone. No jail time. He is now 22 and has a two babies and cannot find a decent job. All he can get is waiter jobs – and has to use food stamps for his family. He applies to hundreds of jobs and no one will even talk to him. It seems cruel that a teenager’s life can be ruined in the blink of an eye!

yes it is, in a country with open borders,it is absolutely the world upside down,
it take away of the greatness of a country to have 20 MILLION BRANDED FELON PEOPLE,
it”s a shame to leave them out of the system< and reduce them to welfare and mendicity,
and they are no matter one can think ,of the great AMERICAN ROOTS IN DEEP GROUND,
THOSE WHO HAVE SPILL THEIR BLOOD thru the history OF THIS NATION,
they don’t need first the right of votes, this is hypocrital, they need first
TO HAVE THE LABEL REMOVE AFTER THEY HAVE DONE THEIR PUNISHMENT,
AND I SAY REMOVE ALL IN GOOGLE WHICH HAS NO RIGHT TO KEEP IT OPEN FAR BACK YEARS,,
THERE IS THE START BUTTON THE WIPE AWAY YEARS OF LABEL WHO NEVER GO AWAY,
even if one is there to save another from drawning, he or she must carry the chain of enslavement for life
THAT IS THE FIRST MOVE FROM AUTHORITY TO DO, NOT LEAVE ONE TRUE AMERICAN TO BECOME
nobody important, to become the one to pick on if he or she find a job, IT IS ABBHORRENT FOR THE WHOLE NATION TO BE carrying such a THIRD COUNTRY ATTITUDE, let it be notice to every GOVERNORS
OF STATES TO DO WHAT THEY MUST NOT DESIRE, NOT MAYBE, NOT DELAY, BUT MUST DO NOW,
TO THEIR CITIZENS BRANDED by such a heavy burden after paying for their mistake a big price they have been responsible to deserve, but no one and google incuded have the right to persue that punishment for years after, to prevent them the right to work and remove the cattle alike branding,
of human BROTHER AND SISTER OF AMERICAN,
I ACCUSE THE WHOLE GOVERNORS OF THE USA TO MAKE THAT BRANDING OF HUMAN CONTINUE,
FURTHER AS A SHAME ON THEM,
WHILE THEY INVITE FOREIGNERS WITH OPEN DOOR, THOSE WHO HATE AMERICA INCLUDED,
ANY ONE WILL DO, WHILE TRUE AMERICAN CARRY THE BRAND OF FELON FOR LIFE,
THIS IS A PRIORITY, DON'T YOU SEE THE MISERY OF MINDS AND BODY YOU GOVERNOR ARE
EXPOSING ON THE FELON FOR LIFE, THEY ARE TO BE STUDY AND MADE IN GROUP OF NOT DANGEROUS FOR SOCIETY WHICH HAVE LIVED AMONG SOCIETY EXPRESSELY BECAUSE FOUND NOT DANGEROUS, AND MADE TO SUFFER THE SHAME OF THE LABEL, THE SHAME OF BEING REFUSE WORK
WHICH FOR MANY ARE REDUCE TO AS FOR ANY JOB LIKE BEGGARS MORE INTELLIGENT FOR MANY,
THAN THE PRESIDENT,AND GOVERNOR OF THE USA ,WHO AS ONE SAID ,CAN SAVE YOUR LIVES WITHOUT HESITATION IF THE NEED OCCUR,YOU CAN DEPEND ON THEM, YET YOU BIG COMPANY
NOT AS PURE OF SINS THAN YOU PRETEND TO BE, GIVE THOSE JOB SEEKERS THE FINGER,
WHEN THEY COME TO YOU, REJECTING THEM ONLY FOR THAT MILD FELONY, SHAME BE ON YOU
TO HAVE ALLOWED IT TOO LONG, AND YOU ARE LOOSING GOOD SMART EMPLOYEES BECAUSE OF IT.
IT'S TIME TO DO WHAT YOU BIG EMPLOYER ,HAVE TO DO,AND NOW, BEFORE THE AMNESTY SET IN ON HUMAN FROM ABROAD YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHO THEY ARE IN FRONT OF YOU SMILLING WITH ALL THEIR THEETS, AND YOU'LL NEVER KNOW, THERE IS NO WAY TO FIND OUT ON THEM,
AND YOU HAVE THE CULOT TO REFUSE A GOOD AMERICAN WITH A FAMILY OF AMERICAN YOUNGS
TO FEED, YOU ALL COMPANY, ARE THE FELON, DON’t LOOK AWAY, AND CARRY YOUR SHAME,AND CHANGE,

I never owned a Dodge Viper, I drove a Toyota 4 Runner, many things are wrong or over dramatized, there people also lying.

We never held out ourselves to be a CPA firm. There are thousands like that. When people asked I told the truth and said we were not a CPA firm.

The big 4 is one career track. There are many others. You don’t have to work for one of them to be successful in Accounting. I personally would not want to work for one of them.

Bryan

This is what the government needs to do to those who messed up. With forgiveness you will get the most out of America’s citizens.

I believe it was in 2004 or 2005 that I applied to get my CPA license. Different state boards have different criteria, I had my license in Texas. From the work I’ve seen over the past 30 years, having your CPA license does not mean you are a good professional. it means you can pass a test. But if that is what you want, go for it.

THANK YOU PRESIDENT OBAMA FOR GIVE THAN SECOND CHAMCE …..U.S.A GOD BLESS YOU

Angiee phrakash
it”s not PRESIDENT, it’s a REPUBLICAN NAME RAND PAUL WHO SAID IT,
when he will be elected,

I am a convicted felon, my felonies were commited over nine years ago, I am also bi racial/ black. it is hard for me to find employment, yes I am employed. I am also more capable of performing the job task than my other co- workers. I have skills and qualifications that would permit any person without a record to make decent wages but because of my felonies I have to accept lower paying jobs because that is the only jobs that will allow me to work, the jobs nobody else wants or jobs with high turn over rates because every one quits because of the low pay and physicality of the work…. I have 5 plus years as cnc machinist, I put in applications for higher paying jobs in this field, they never even responded to my applications or resume, my wife applied with out any shop experience and two days later received a call and was hired and trained. I know many convicted felons at these job sights but they are white, so its just not the record but when your a minority its just another reason to deny you.

tevares carlton
sorry to hear that you are a minority within a minority, it shouldn’t be,
you are not a minority, because you found a job that other whites are not able to find,
and that give you a superiority, for you to think bigger than smaller is important for your mindset,
yes the money is a blatant injustice done to a hard worker in a hard job,
but this job is for making your life at home the best you can, while time go by, and maybe someday
you will work for yourself doing the same job for that to happen, even if it take 10 years
WHY DO I THINK THAT YOU SHOULD SAVE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN SO TO ACHIEVE THAT INDEPENDANCE DREAM, WHICH WITH YOUR SKILL AND INCREASE KNOWLEDGE AS TIME FLY
TO GET YOU THERE WHERE YOU WORK FOR YOURSELF, MAYBE HELP BY YOUR FAMILY, YOU ARE ON THE WAY TO GET YOUR DREAM REALITY, IF YOU STAY OPTIMIST AND THINK OF THE FUTURE,
I WISH FOR YOU AND YOUR WIFE,
BEST TO YOU,

hey guys,
I think I posted on here before. Last week, I called the board in accounting and they said that I could be an accountant! They said that it was possible but they didn’t explain much. i will keep you guys updated

Kid in college with a felony,YES GOOD FOR YOU AND WE WILL WANT
TO HEAR FROM YOU,
THANK YOU,

My son is a felon. This is what he found…

You can go into nursing, project management, construction management, truck driving, fast food, information technology, sales…

YES, ALL THESES PEOPLE
can benefit from all the clues and sources they can get,
much oblige SR,
RAND PAUL HAS THEM IN MIND, HE SAID IT PUBLICLY AND I BELIEVE HIM,
HE IS A STRAIGHT SHOOTER, NO LIES WITH HIM,

Tevares Carlton,

Don’t believe everything you read. I built two big non-cps practices and you can make a decent amount of money. I can put you in touch with a person you can tell you how to do that. it is their business. There are two types of accounting practices, traditional CPA firm’s and non-CPA’s firms. The Non-CPA accounting firm I had in Ft. Lauderdale in 2005, I was able to get 100 clients and over 12k in billings in 6 months. You seem to believe that the CPA license is the magic bullet to it all. It is not. It is one way. Bu there are others. It really comes down to what you know. By the way, I started at the bottom of the ladder and worked myself up.

That because you looked under CPA firms, look under accounting and bookkeeping firms.
By the definition of your search, that the results you would expect. When you look up “CPA” firms, you get “CPA” firms.

I haven’t been on here in a while, but I am starting to have hope. I keep reading about people who are felons and have found gainful employment. I was reading about one guy out in California who was arrested and jailed for a felony. He loved computers, started working for an IT company fresh out of jail and ten years later, became the CIO of the company. He said that he had an anger problem, too.

There is one woman who was just arrested for a felony that I was reading about… a drug felony. Now, she has a job that pays 100K per year working for the government AND SHE HASN’T EVEN WENT TO COURT YET!!!
http://blog.timesunion.com/localpolitics/15622/after-felony-arrest-quinn-lands-new-100k-job/

Thanks Need Hope.

To kid in college: I read something online about an accounting company getting a lot of shit because they hired quite a few convicted felons.

I called the Dean of Nursing at my college and she said that my son could be a nurse. Other people in his position have made it, excluding a man convicted of child pornography. A children’s hospital would not let him do the clinical at their hospital.

I committed a felony 30 years ago. i served 3 months in prison and 3 years probation. My offense was i conspiracy to counterfeit. I served my time with no trouble and i served my probation without incident . If i moved to canada would i still be a felon in canada ?

I’m a truck driver and I make over $100,000 per year. My buddy told me of this website. I spent 4 years in jail for selling drugs and I haven’t made less than $50,000 per year in any given year for the past 20 years. I’m getting a passport to hault up into Niagara Falls. I know drivers that make $125k haulin up there.

Gotta getcha cdls

Red Joe

By all means try the CPA route if that is what you really want. You do not try you will never know if you would have been successful at it. Go for it. I never gave any clients any discounts because I was not a CPA. My boss charges people $500 an hour just to talk to me. Its what you know. All I’m saying there are many routes you can go and in life if one one door closes another opens. Don’t get tunnel vision.

Bryan

HAHAHAA
If you cross in CANADA, you will be caught and even your 50,000 ,
won”t buy you a key,
advice is, stay in the GOOD OLD USA, until you get your 20 years in jail,
and you will sing, HOHOHOO SHIT,

Ok I have read your blog about felons. my record is 7 years old, I have worked my ass off went back to school and have not been in any trouble before or after my one felony mistake. I never lie about my record and I always took rejection with a grain of salt. However I was offered a job, after disclosing my felony record, I left my waitress job to move on to something better for me and my son. Only to show up to work today and be told that I did not pass a background check (DUH!!! I told you I had a record). Now I’m sitting here reading your bullshit. What should I tell my son when I can’t feed him because now I have no job!!! Hell yes people deserve a second chance, I don’t want you or anyone else to pay for it. I already pay for lazy ass women to stay home and pop out babies each year, I just want a chance to survive and to give my son a decent life. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have read this blog and have come to realize that ilovebeeswarzone is playing 2 characters on here.

Bob
what do you mean?????

Many times before I have been in win-lose cyclic employment situations. If you know when you are qualified for a job you will apply for it and then you may get some positive feedback from the employer or even a potential job offer. This is simply a win lose situation. It’s a cyclic setup for failure. Don’t put yourself through this ordeal. Today the way the laws are made is making persons with prior convictions to work as labourers and domestic attendants. Eventually even those low wage jobs will require strict background evaluations.

It is very disheartening to hear such adversity from outside critics who just don’t seem to get it simply because they are doing far better in life and are also with convictions Instead of going by those successes which I’m not disproving rather suggesting, if one individual rights to work is denied then the problem exists is very real and needs some judicial rectifying and national public attention. Think of it like this. On the day the individual was denied or turned away. That person who didn’t get dressed that day and commit a burglar or theft or some other crime. That person got themself together believing in themself and in the employer that this action of seeking employment is actually righting a wrong that was committed in the past. Then as the state should be being held accountable for little or no action towards leniency of legislative modification to post convictions, most employers esp in the state here are forced to shut there eyes on the hopeful jobseekers with a prior conviction. (Not onmyown)

yes very bad especially in this free COUNTRY, so call, but not very free anymore,
because so tide in with their ropes of all colors possible,
they use one group against the other,
those in business should take a good look at themselves and why they are here in AMERICA,
they are not free if they refuse a position to a person who made a mistake some previous years,
they are carrying that refusal all their lives, if they have a conscience, they don’t realize it,
but they will never feel that they did the best for other who go to them seeking a job,
it’s their guilt for life sticking on them like a curse, which doesn’t go away,

lesona,

You can make it happen. Hang in there and don’t lose hope. Don’t over analyze everything and don’t try to fit a circle into a square. Have faith and relax a little and things will come to you.

Bryan

Bob
don”t tell me that you read all the 684 comments, before getting to your
conclusion,
come back and begin at number one, till now,
and tell us what you conclude again,
i am not two characters, but i change my answer for an arrogant who come here,

notonmyown,

I always have kept my life simple. Decide what I want and find a way to get there, regardless of what others have to say about it or how daunting the task may seem. I’ve always been that way.

Bryan

I am a Marine Corp combat action decorated veteran. I came back and did not realize that my PTSD caused my entire life to turn upside down. The war was over but I stayed in that mindset when I came back . I lost 5 jobs a year because of my drinking and anger problems and I ended up with a drinking and drug problem. I was arrested in 2000 for possesion of controlled substance and flee\ing and eluding. Yep a Felony. I threw myself on the mercy of the court and pled no lo. Since then I have got counseling and got a AA and an AS and working on my Bachelors Degree. BUT! I have been turned down for alot of jobs in my field due to the background check. I can only seal my record not expunge it for a second chance at life. I can’t work with children or work at a school or military base. I paid my debt to society and stayed out of trouble for over 14 years! Will I ever get a second chance at my life? That was a lifetime ago and a different person…I want my rights back! I want a new chance at life! CArey

your service still will shine over those years of being lost in a no no zone,
it”s almost too hard not to fall in what you did when you come back from youe service to these
citizens, which you protected their freedom, GIVING BACK THE FINGER TO A MIGHTY WARRIOR,
WHO FOR A WHILE LOST HIS WAY,
DON’T FEEL BAD FOR THEIR REFUSALS, THEY ARE NOT BIG ENOUF FOR YOU,
CONTINUE YOUR QUEST FOR A POSITION YOU WANT TO BE ADAPTED TO YOU FIRST,
BECAUSE YOU WILL FIND ONE AND FEEL WANTED AND SO MUCH APPRECIATED,
FOR WHAT YOU GAVE TO THIS COUNTRY, WHICH IN THESES YEARS IS IN A TURNING POINT,
A POINT VERY DANGEROUS FOR ALL THE PEOPLE, BECAUSE THEY MISS,
WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO WORK AT, they are lost and the people is depress,
that’s what you came back too,
don’t give up, there is a place for you, but the hard part is to find it,
you will know when you have found it,
you where patient while you went in the healing process, it sais that you won’t get down eazy,
keep it up , you are one among the biggest treasures of this nation,
keep your head up, you are with the GIANTS WHO PROTECT THE WEAKLING OF AMERICA,
YES THOSE WHO REFUSE TO HIRE YOU, THEY ARE THE LOWEST WEAKLING AMONG ALL THE PUBLIC, BECAUSE THEY
HAVEN’T CONQUER THEIR FEAR OF WHAT THEY DON’T UNDERSTAND,
THIS IS THE TIME WHERE THE JOBS ARE NOT THERE TO FIND, THIS IS THE TIME ,
TO SUFFER A STAND BY, AND SO MANY ARE IN THE LINE OF SEARCHING FOR THE JOB,
THEY WANT, BUT WE MIGHT WHILE WE WAIT TRY TO LOWER OUR EXPECTATIONS,
UNTIL IT GET BETTER,
CHECK ANY THING, YOU MIGHT BE SURPRISE TO FIND A DIFFERENT AVENUE, BUT MIGHT MAKE YOU MORE HAPPY IF IT FIT IN YOUR LIFE AT HOME, WHICH TAKE A BIG PART OF A LIFETIME,
I WHISH YOU THE BEST, YOU EARN IT, MORE THAN OTHER WHO LIVED FOR THEIR OWN SELF INTEREST,
COME BACK TO US IF YOU WISH TO REPLENISH THE MORAL,
BYE,
just another thought here,
try to connect with the conservatives elected, they might find something for you as the next election is comming ,
they need hands they can trust, and they trust the military,
check it up,

This is what we must all do. This government wants to forgive the crime of all illegals and give them amnesty and make them citizens. Well now it’s our turn. Demand that all of our records be erased so that we can all move on also. After all we are all citizens of America. Do American’s the favor before those who are not citizens. You see the government is marrying gays while most of the states have sodomy laws. You see one group can break the law and suffer no consequences, while we the people screw up once and they want to keep us in prison for life. It’s time to have equal justice for all, and not about the minority groups getting special treatment. Just remember We can do all things through Christ who strenghtens us. It’s time our voices are heard.

Hello,

A student of mine told me about this website and the issue that he had. I figured that I would offer my expertise. I used to be a hiring manager at an IT company. The student told me that he spent 3 months in jail seven years ago for burglary. As a former hiring manager, I don’t see why it would be impossible for him to find a job. He has worked at McDonald’s and other fast food restaurants since this burglary and has been trusted with cash in those positions.

One colleague of mine who is a former screening manager said that it would be extremely difficult for him to get past the screening process. With a misdemeanor, it would be much easier. But, the chances that he would have with a felony would be very slim, but very possible.

Another colleague of mine stated that it depended on the application. Some applications ask if you have ever been convicted of a felony. He stated that you should apply to those companies. He stated that some only ask if you’ve been convicted of a felony in the past 7 years. Those are the companies that you want to apply to.

Good luck!

Don’t give me that crap.

Sorry to shit in your face.

yes you are angry, whatever for, is not worth spending your health on being angry,
life is full of both, justice and unjustice,
we lick our wounds and pass it to the past, and something good will replace it, that is the future your future unknown,
but full of good minutes, here and there,
you sure look like you need that break, but don’t let it go by staying angry,
you will miss it, miss the good times no way, you need those goodies to lift up your low feeling ,
and there are good times for all, we must capture them as they show up,or else they pass also,
and we where too angry to see that it was good,
please don’t stay angry, those you mentioned are in worse position than you, i’m sure,
take care, i hope you find what you need for yourself to be smiling to life,

Hello! I’ve been reading your web site for a while now and finally got the bravery to go
ahead and give you a shout out from Huffman Tx! Just wanted to say keep up the fantastic work!

a
nice of you to come,
THE AUTHOR OF THIS BLOG IS SEAN, if you went way on top to read his story
very uplifting and a gift of hope to other who suffer the interminable try out to wait on line to get a job,
and counting by the numbers of comments here, he found a need for the felons to tell and express their hurts to find the closed door of the companies,
and yes, just them asking the question of did you get convicted, when they already decide to close the chance of the felon wich after years for some are no more a felon after paying their dues to society,
BUT STILL CARY THE LABEL FOR LIFE,
i started to chip in, to encourage the best i could, when i read some who wanted to end it all, that is the desperation of many,
WHILE THE MILLIONS OF ILLEGALS COME WITH ONLY THEIR TOGUE TO ANSWER THE OFFICER,
WHO IS HE? NO ONE KNOW FOR SURE, HE COULD BE A RAPIST HERE TO CONTINUE HIS CRIME,
AND HAVE A PASS FROM SOCIETY, OR ANY OTHER CRIMINAL ACTIONS, ALL CONCEALED,
WHILE THE FELONS ARE BEING REFUSED AND HUMILIATED OF SEEING THE ILLEGALS FIND THE JOB THEY ARE ENTITLE TO HAVE FIRST AS CITIZEN OF THE USA, BORN FOR GENERATIONS BACK
FOR MOST, THIS IS UNACCEPTEBLE, AND HARD TO COMPREHEND IN THIS AMERICA SPECIALY,
THIS AMERICA, YES IT’S DONE IN AMERICA, THE LAND OF FREEDOM,
SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG ,
SO DID YOU EVER BEEN CONVICTED ? ON THE SCRIPT,
WHY DO YOU ASK? IS THAT RELATED TO THE JOB I CAN DO BETTER THAN ANYONE,
IS THAT THE ONLY REQUIREMENT YOU DEMAND SO TO GET YOUR COMPANY THE BEST THERE IS,
I MUST SAY THAT YOU ARE NOT UP TO THE INTEREST OF YOUR COMPANY, DO YOU OWN IT OR JUST A CLERK?
DO YOU WANT THE BEST ? OR THE ONES WHO NEVER GOT CAUGHT MAKING A MISTAKE ?
SORRY YOU ARE NOT A COMPANY I WAS LOOKING TO WORK FOR, i don”t have to tell you anything,
BEST OF LUCK, IN YOUR SEARCH,
THAT’S WHAT THEY DISERVE, NO FROM THE APLICANT FIRST,
THAT’S HOW MUCH I GET CARRIED AWAY, WITH THIS TERRIBLE
LOST OF FELONS IN AN UNFORGIVING SOCIETY,
BYE

I’m one of the best lawyers in Delaware. I’m tired of hearing people like you all whining about finding a job. What about Joe Brown? Joe Brown spent 3 years in jail for selling crack cocaine. He ended up getting a pardon and now he is an attorney.

Eugene M
nice of you to visit,
the people would appreciate how Joe Brown, got a pardon, and end up becoming an atorney,
would you tell us if you know about how he did it ?
you should know that the felons are even more tired of people whining about how anyone can get a pardon, it”s not as easy as you say,
and become an ATORNEY, they are living that bad dream not you,
SO, DID YOU COME HERE TO TELL YOUR FATIGUE OF HEARING THEIR STORY? THEY DON’T NEED IT,
THIS BLOG is for them, to empty their fears, and see they are not alone strugling to find a life back,
after they paid the price of their errors, and find the close doors, is not to help them,
HERE IS A PLACE FOR THEM TO UNWIND,
they are very nice people and smarter than you are proving to be,
if you have noting to bring, they don”t need you here,
your own whining is depressing for other,
WE ARE TRYING TO RAISE THEIR HOPE FOR BETTER DAYS,
WHICH ALWAYS COME,

I don’t understand how our government can give amnesty to people who aren’t even citizens while telling those who broke the law once that you will be punished for life? This is why most people don’t trust the government. Fend for yourselves and trust God. If he wants you to be something no government can stop you.

HI
you said a very important truth, this is not right,
but he seems to be more incline in having foreigners join the AMERICANS,
THAN THINKING OF THE WELL BEING OF THE AMERICANS,
HE SAID THAT FROM THE START, HE WILL CHANGE AMERICA, AND NOW WE SEE IT, MULTI LANGHAGE, MULTI ALL THE REST,
HE DID NOT LIKE THE AMERICANS AS THEY ARE, IT’S OBVIOUS

Rand Paul is starting to get it right.

There is some hope out there for some whom the government has kept down for decades. It’s time that we all move on, and not be trapped for life.
The real freedom is with Jesus.

hi,
YES RAND PAUL SAID IT BEFORE AND IS TRUE TO HIS WORD NOW,
good to see it coming, that is a priority before immigration, or illegals,
this is those multi thousands of felons need their space first,
they are AMERICANS,
that’s why,
best to you,

I am a convicted felon that has grew living a life of crime since rhe age of 13. I blame only myself and have never played the victim. Scientist recently did a study and placed baby mice with perfect vision into total darkness for their first year of life. Those mice became blind and never were able to see again. With that being said, i was a product of my invironment and spent many years stumbling and paying for past mistakes. I am now a 38 year old single dad of 3 teenagers and also a successful business owner. I also have a non profit called UrbanBizDirectory that teaches convicted felons and troubled youth how to start a business. I had to create my own second chance. Jesus came for the sick.

strange is in it, you traveled to both extremes of life, you left the first one in time,
you are still so young for having carried such a big load,
i am happy for you as you are saved, and so many good years awaiting you,
with your children you can be proud to be with them,
i am also happy that you came here to leave hope to other trying to find work
and some are desperate, this is a GLIMMER OF A LIGHT TO HOLD ON, to them showing them the way to never give up, BECAUSE THERE IS ALWAYS A TOMORROW DIFFERENT,
BEST TO YOU,
EDIT: ERIC , IF YOU FEEL LIKE GIVING TIPS AND HOW TO,
PLEASE DO SO,
