Global Warming – The Other Side (Video)

Loading

This is a great series by KUSI San Diego on global warming called Global Warming – The Other Side, that includes the news that ClimateGate has reached our shores…I know, not surprising, but worth watching:

It has been revealed that a “sleight of hand” was used in the computer program that rated 2005 as “THE WARMEST YEAR ON RECORD.” Skeptical climate researchers have discovered extensive manipulation of the data within the U.S. Government’s two primary climate centers: the National Climate Data Center (NCDC) in Asheville, North Carolina and the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) at Columbia University in New York City. These centers are being accused of creating a strong bias toward warmer temperatures through a system that dramatically trimmed the number and cherry-picked the locations of weather observation stations they use to produce the data set on which temperature record reports are based. The two investigators say the system has been distorted in other ways as well. They have documented their findings in great detail in a scientific report that has been posted online. These findings are presented as a part of my television special report ”Global Warming: The Other Side” telecast Thursday night, January 14th at 9 PM here on KUSI TV.

It’s seven parts, 10 minutes each part, but well worth the time:

I could be paddling a rowboat down Market Street in San Francisco after the poles have melted, and there will still be conservative fanatics who deny that humans are responsible for Global Warming or that it is even real. Please, read this article on this urgent issue: http://pltcldscsn.blogspot.com/2009/12/conservatives-still-deny-global-warming.htmlWar

@David Scott: The link you posted is as faulty as your logic.

Try again. That is if you aren’t too busy spreading more of your shopworn scare rhetoric elsewhere.

And for your information, it isn’t just conservatives who aren’t buying the lies, it’s EVERYONE!

@Mike’s America: Thanks for the tip off!

Here is the proper link: http://pltcldscsn.blogspot.com/2009/12/conservatives-still-deny-global-warming.html

Warmly,

D

Hey Mike…Ya gotta go read the comments left on Dave’s site..freakin precious!

…and THIS is his “defense” of his position:

David Scott said…
I will not debate the science.

As I said before, the world’s most respected scientists have spoken “only religious fanatics who cling to the notion of creationism and a flat Earth still doubt the unfortunate reality of global warming.”

Well…so much for civil discourse..

Well “David Settino Scott III”, I am NOT a religious fanatic, and I DON’T believe in creationism, nor a flat earth, and if the best defense of your position is those 3 “facts” of yours (evidently pertaining to the hundreds of white-papers, 10’s of thousand’s of scientist’s, and hundreds of millions of lay-persons.) then it is obvious why you “will not debate the science”.

It is because you feel the fear. Feels kinda like a cold shiver down your spine, doesn’t it?

That, and if I took your total knowledge of climate facts, and put it in a gnats ass, it would look like a BB in a boxcar.

@Patvann: I’ll spare myself that pleasure Pat.

But thanks for digging up that gem.

It’s clear who the “religious fanatic” on this issue is.

What a shame the Arctic isn’t melting as he would suggest. It’s all one big cycle as we have seen on this planet from the beginning of time.

But you can’t tell a true believer of globaloney that. They can’t process the facts.

I’m sorry if you missed my point because of my literal statement. I do have a tendency to exaggerate and I often lose some of my less astute readers because of it.

In my article I was trying to compare the refusal to accept good science in favor of research paid for by oil industry lobbyists with the Catholic Churches refusal to accept Galileo’s observations which disproved their belief in a geocentric universe. Apparently, they felt Galileo’s findings would cause people to question the lies they had been spreading to protect their little religious protection racket. Much like the energy companies are trying to squash good science in order to protect their profit margins, which are all they care about. I suspect you might be one of them, since you claim you are not a religious fanatic.

Take a look at this: http://pltcldscsn.blogspot.com/2009/03/ok-if-this-doesnt-spark-some.html

So tell me are you a rich oil industry trust-funder? Are you trying to protect your daddy’s business? What is your reason for denying the truth?

Good on ya, Mate!

David Scott: In my article I was trying to compare the refusal to accept good science in favor of research paid for by oil industry lobbyists with the Catholic Churches refusal to accept Galileo’s observations which disproved their belief in a geocentric universe.

“good” science? BWAHAHAHA I guess the Russians complaint about the IPCC pets ignoring weather stations, the concerted effort to fudge the numbers, and the “religion” behind Al Gore just whizzed right past yer head, eh? Ever bother to check out who’s funding those perpetuating the global warming myth? Apparently not. Or that’s another incoming whiz ya missed.

Hmmmm…..

A WARNING that climate change will melt most of the Himalayan glaciers by 2035 is likely to be retracted after a series of scientific blunders by the United Nations body that issued it.

You see David, things are not as they appear to be on the surface and the hoax is falling apart at the seams.

:

I guess you want me to believe there is a global conspiracy of people with more money than all of the world’s oil barons who are trying to destroy the world’s economy by cleaning up the environment.

No thanks, I will take the word of the world’s scientific community over corporate lobbyists any day.

Besides, should we continue to manage our planet like idiots, just on a very slim chance that all you rich people could be right about this?

Good lord…. what a leap frog. A “global conspiracy”? No. Just a political and special interest conspiracy of higher up mucky mucks and States that have control over the corrupt UN data. The “globe” part – aka the AlGore Religion – comes in when they convince empty heads like you into believing their tripe.

Corporate lobbyists? Like those that work for soros? Or al gore?
No, you’re just another kool-aid drinker who thinks that because you are a believer in what is rapidly being shown as fraud, that you are superior to those that do not.

There are HUGE amounts of money to be made in the global warming scam in addition to political power. That is what drives the so-called “experts” on your side.
Funny how you leftists like to say that one should follow the money to find “the truth” ….until it leads to your side.
I would also point out that typical of the left, many of them actually believe the fantasy there will be tons of green jobs created for everyone and everything will be sooo wonderful. Talk to Spain about how it actually worked out.
The only “flat earther” type here is you, but since you’re a leftist facing reality and self introspection are concepts utterly alien to you.

I’m sorry if you missed my point because of my literal statement. I do have a tendency to exaggerate and I often lose some of my less astute readers because of it.

Ah yes. The old passive-aggressive counter, thus inflating ones fragile ego. Sorry dickhead, I see right through that crap from a mile away. Made worse by denoting the most banal, unthinking, stupid, and biased statement to somehow be magically transformed into “Too Deep For You To Grasp”.
-Freakin pathetic.

Your “clarification” is stupid, and uninformed. The oil companies ARE on board, and in fact helped start your little “movement”. Your “knowledge” of Catholic history would actually be invisible in that same gnats ass.

So tell me are you a rich oil industry trust-funder? Are you trying to protect your daddy’s business? What is your reason for denying the truth?

Are you freakin kidding me?! THAT WAS YOUR COME-BACK TO ME??????

So are you writing individual responses just as stupid as this one to everyone who commented counter-positions to your emotive post? If so, you better get busy, because there sure was a lot of them…in fact, last I checked, they’re running about 95% against you.

Class “A” moron.

Well, after seeing how you responded to Patvann, it’s clear that you DS are just another mentally ill, hate filled moonbat.

You and white supremacists have something in common. You desperately need someone to feel superior to in order to feel good about your pathetic self. You also suffer from pathological hate. WS decide they are superior to minorities while you picked those that disagree with you-Conservatives.

It will be a great day when even loons like you can’t pretend global warming is really happening.

David Scott; “No thanks, I will take the word of the world’s scientific community over corporate lobbyists any day. Besides, should we continue to manage our planet like idiots, just on a very slim chance that all you rich people could be right about this?”

Actually David, in mid-June of 2008 the American Physical Society, a group of about 500,000 physics professors (not just American ones, but from all walks of life) and a key player in the worlds scientific community, changed their stance on anthropogenic global warming. Originally, their stance was the position that the Earths temperature was increasing at alarming rates, and they were among the first groups to claim that global warming was happening.

However, their current stance is the position that the earth isn’t getting warmer, and that the ice caps may be receding, but they are also getting thicker at a much quicker rate. They learned that the ice caps were getting thicker because they had deployed buoys to collect data on how spread out the ice is an how thick. Their scientific research shows results quiet different from the ones that were recently fudged by scientists who believe in global warming.

So according to the APS, even though the earths ice was receding, it wasn’t losing any ice (contradictory to the claims of global warming activists). Since the ice was gaining thickness much more quickly than it was receding, the earth was actually gaining ice. So David, is this bad science? Are these teachers who united to better the science community in America and the world tools for the energy businesses? Or is it the recent fudging of numbers from global warming scientists the real bad science?

The chances that the APS changed stances on anthropogenic global warming because they all of a sudden decided that they wanted to support people like Luke Petrol, BP, and Royal Dutch Shell are slim to none. And for anyone to think that the APS are on the side of energy companies is mere wishful thinking, thus the argument that all of the scientists who are skeptical of global warming are on the side of energy companies is a straw man.

As for how we manage our use of the planets resources, I think we can and should always find new and innovative ways to care for the Earth. It’s the only one we’ve got, and it’s priceless. However, wanting to care for the Earth is not a sufficient reason to be jingoistic in support of the anthropogenic global warming movement. By the way, what about how Al Gore is using the fear of global warming to protect his businesses and his properties, you know, the businesses and properties that have been deemed by scientists to be very unfriendly to the environment and our Earth?

@David Scott: You mention Galileo and the Inquisition. Yet the Inquisition in this case is visited on anyone who dares to disagree with you alarmists.

Didn’t you read ANY of the emails from the Climategate criminals where they discussed how to punish non believers?

My goodness, you are an angry bunch!

Here, take a look at this: http://dveshw.blogspot.com/2010/01/blood-season-lovestained-element.html

@David Scott: I don’t see any anger here and I also don’t see any relevance in the link you left to this discussion.

Are you so poorly informed on this global issue that you have run out of your socialist approved talking points?

@Mike’s America:

If you can’t see the anger in the posts above, there is definitely something wrong with your powers of perception. It kind of comical really…

I make it a point not to waste my time arguing with the ignorant; people may not know the difference at first glance.

As for my post I thought it was very relevant. Did you miss something?

Look, I know it hurts, but you people have been living off of the blood and sweat of the poor for too long now and things must change. You are going to have to give up some of your precious profits and your fancy SUV’s.

I understand you are afraid, but everything will be all right in the long run. You will get used to it eventually.

Here, I think this video explains a lot and even if you still don’t get it, I promise you a good laugh! (link deleted)

@David Scott: “You people have been living off of the blood and sweat of the poor for too long now.”

We have been living off our OWN sweat and blood while providing jobs and welfare for the poor. I would also mention that we are taxed to the nines to provide a free public education for all, but if it only succeeds in spitting out morons like you, obviously it is not money well spent.

If by “everything will be all right in the long run” you mean a socialist/communist government, I suggest you try living in a country where it already exists. Even the Russians will tell you that socialism/communism only offers “hoax and chains.” It not only fails as a political experiment, but it cannot provide the “hope and change” and prosperity that capitailism does.

@David Scott said “you people have been living off of the blood and sweat of the poor for too long now.”

What utter crap.

You are absolutely delusional.

You live in a fantasy world in which you indulge your prejudices against people who do not share your socialist utopian views.

The vast majority of the readers here are people who work hard and pay taxes. You should try both sometime. You strike me as nothing more than the typical socialist parasite.

Have you got ANYTHING relevant to say about global warming or are you just going to spout more absurd crap like the above?

: I’m not crying, I’m laughing. Why are you so upset?

@Toothfairy: “The comfort of the wealthy requires an abundance of the poor.” Voltair
Ahs hates to sound ungrateful–I’m sure all us poor folks is awful grateful for the jobs, Massa!

@Mike’s America: I say all of this is relevant, for it shows the mindset of greed and hatred that is the root of the problem which you all refuse to admit you created.

Here, take a look at this: (link deleted)

You all should really try to get ahold of yourselves. That kind of anger can lead to heart disease!

@David Scott: O.K. I get it now. You’re not at all a serious person and I shouldn’t expect you to behave as such.

To say that somehow I created a mindset of greed and hatred is even more absurd than your previous comments.

Two questions for you:

1. How old are you?

2. What public university are you the victim of?

Obviously I have given up expecting you to have anything mature or sensible to say on the topic of global warming. It’s clear you are not up to it.

@Mike’s America:

Please try to read my posts more carefully. I did not accuse you of creating a mindset of greed and hatred.

My age has nothing to do with the conversation, but anyone with reasonable research skills should be able to hazard a close guess.

As for your attempt to belittle my education, it is clear that whatever great learning institution you graduated from, they left out an important part of the curriculum…manners.

I gave up on finding any intelligent discourse from the authors of this blog (who also appear to be the majority of its readers) long ago. However, for your personal edification, I offer you this: (link deleted)

@David Scott: Sorry, but I have no more time to waste on someone who is clearly not up to the standards of intellectual discourse this blog expects.

@David Scott: First of all, it’s “Voltaire,” not “Voltair.” Secondly, this is not 18th century France, and we have no monarchy to rebel against– unless you’re referring to all the “czars” appointed by your Chosen One or all the career politicians with their hands in the cookie jar.

Most of the people on this site are not “wealthy,” either. They are hard-working members of the middle class; and most people with jobs are happy to have them so they can provide for themselves and their loved ones. Your own poverty seems to be a poverty of the mind and spirit. You seem to have some entitlement issues, but who do you expect to fufill those delusions of grandeur if the economy tanks? Are you one of those who thinks Obama is going to pay your bills for you? Or do you simply want to see everyone as miserable as you are?

People are often quick to accuse others of their own shortcomings. That is why you “see anger” in all the other posts. Look in the mirror. You are the angriest commenter on this thread. I would suggest that you heed your own advice to avoid heart disease — but your heart is already diseased. It is full of hate and willful misunderstanding. The “root of the problem” is people like you — not those who work hard to help their own and others.

I love these so called freedom loving right wing blogs. You are all so happy reading each others misinformation, but if someone with an opposing viewpoint comes along, you all gang up on them with personal attacks and then censor them when they try to back up their arguments.

I welcome opposing viewpoints on my pages and will only delete vulgar or hateful comments.

Have fun reading each others BS–no one else is. I sure won’t be back soon…

Pardon me for laughing at these fools. Now we have couples in counseling and divorcing over recycling and not eating sustainable sushi. All because of being taken in on the globaloney hoax.

I blame algore.

Meet one of the families in the article, the Birkahns:

Christienne deTournay Birkhahn, executive director of the EcoMom Alliance, an organization based in Marin County that provides education to women who want to have their families live more sustainably, finds that disputes over how green is green enough often divide along predictable lines by sex.

Women, Ms. Birkhahn said, often see men as not paying sufficient attention to the home. Men, for their part, “really want to make a large impact and aren’t interested in a small impact,” she said.

That is certainly the case in her own marriage, she said. Her husband, Kurt, an engineer and federal employee, sometimes seems to be baiting her by placing plastic yogurt cups in the garbage or leaving the reusable shopping bags in the car and coming home with disposable bags instead.

If my hubby messed with my yogurt cups and had the audacity to come home with a disposable bag he’s be right out in the middle of the drive on his keister, for sure! That’s grounds, mental cruelty. sarc.

HOBBIES/INTERESTS

I am an avid bicyclist and infrequent paraglider pilot. I love camping, hiking, karate, fencing, and Frisbee. I have traveled to Europe, Mexico, Southeast Asia, and Alaska.

I chose to study law, because I am passionate about protecting the rights of the individual against the power of the state. I am an unconventional, idealistic, liberal, activist. I am athletic, sincere, and conscientious. I spend a lot of my free time riding my bike, working out at the gym, practicing karate, and just exploring the bay area. I am a rebel, an anarchist, a non-conformist, who marches to the beat of a different drummer. I earned a second-degree black-belt in the discipline of Shotokan karate, but I strongly abhor violence. I was brought up by hippie parents and consider myself to be somewhat of a hippie too. I have a deep love for the entire human race.

I took some time to read the comments on David’s blog… about nine out of ten people consider him to be a moron. I’d say that people commenting on his posts here think he’s a moron about ten out of ten times.

@Donald Bly: Yep…. relatively recent grad of a public university, COMMUNITY COLLEGE no less.

No wonder he was short on the brain power but long on the socialist hate speech.

A time waster to be sure and not even half as challenging as the other soc time wasters who leave their droppings here.

And I hope BLOB doesn’t take that as a compliment to him. It’s not.

Hey now… I started out at a community college, 3.7 GPA… Don’t be blaming his malfunctioning brain on the Community College system, blame it on his parents doing too much LSD while he was a pre-born.

@ Donald Bly: David Scott wrote: “I was brought up by hippie parents and consider myself to be somewhat of a hippie too. I have a deep love for the entire human race.”

Now I get it. He loves mankind. It’s people he can’t stand.

I got a real kick out of David’s claim of being a “web designer”… that’s code for UNEMPLOYED

Based upon his use of template driven website authoring tools I’m betting he doesn’t know the difference between a website designer and a website developer. I noticed he didn’t list under computer skills any of the standard website design/developer software.

I was taking a stab in the dark about LSD being a reason for David’s delusional thinking… it could be something as simple as getting kicked in the head too many times or exhaust fumes from the “flower power school bus”. Or too much second hand bong smoke during his formative years.

I may not have an Ivy league education, but I’ve got a few up on this bunch.
While you guys belittle my schooling, it becomes clear that whatever august institutions you went to, the left out a very important part of the curriculum…MANNERS.

If you are going to be wrong about everything, you should at least try to be nice about it.

Since you enemies of freedom and free speech need more love than most people, here is another link for your censors to delete: http://pltcldscsn.blogspot.com/2010/04/on-subject-of-global-warming.html
