FLOTUS ‘Let Them Eat Cake’ Moment

Seriously, I believe FLOTUS was channeling Marie Antoinette, Queen of France with this quote:

In her speech in Copenhagen today, First Lady Michelle Obama said her trip to Denmark, along with the travel of her “dear friend” and “chit-chat buddy” Oprah Winfrey, as well as tomorrow’s visit by President Obama, is a “sacrifice” on behalf of the children of Chicago and the United States.

Yes, traveling to Denmark in Airforce One, staying at posh 10 star hotels if not shacking up at Frederik VIII’s Palace in Amalienborg and having tea with Queen Margarethe is truly a hardship. I wonder if Michelle’s 26 attendants accompanied her on this sacrificial outing?

Very deceptive quoting. Taking one word out of context and then assigning your own verbiage to what she actually said.

First Lady Michelle Obama said to a gathering of Chicago Olympic Organizers in Copenhagen…

    http://www.whitehouse.gov/the_press_office/Remarks-by-the-First-Lady-at-Mayor-Daleys-welcome-reception-in-Copenhagen-Denmark/

    Part of the actual speech.

“And I know that’s what all of you have been working for for these past few months. As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the President to come for these few days, so many of you in this room have been working for years to bring this bid home, and you have put together a phenomenal set of ideas that, no matter what the outcome is, we should be proud of as a city. ”

She was taking to people who really have been working their butts off to bring the Olympics to the USA, Chicago her hometown…. the persons she was referring to when she spoke of sacrifice.

(And his smelly socks have more “quality-of-character” than the Klingon-bitch will ever know)

I feel guilty because I don’t feel I sacrificed enough.

Thousands of our best sacrifice today.

Neither the big plaid-assed spoiled Klingon, nor her narcissistic husband know the meaning of the word, nor did ANYONE think or say her daytrip was ANY kind of sacrifice whatsoever.

The union-bosses and thugs running Chicago who THINK they are “sacrificing” need to find honest work.

May Rio win. Chicago deserves NOTHING but good governance. When that ever happens, they can bid for the Olympics.

Such a sacrifice it is to hop on board your own plane to fly over, having your husband follow on the next day. (The cost of just the fuel for Air Force One to go over is $1.5 million.)

Such a sacrifice it is to endure the finest living and sleeping accommodations with those hard mattresses and scratchy sheets. Terrible.

Such a sacrifice it is to tolerate all those meetings with royalty and the pretty people, smiling and schmoozing and rubbing elbows with the upper crust. Why, those people probably haven’t bathed in weeks.

Such a sacrifice it is to have teams of assistants running about to do your every bidding.

Such a sacrifice it is to have teams of Secret Service personnel, as well as scores of police and military people, making sure that you are completely safe from every threat.

Such a sacrifice it is to force yourself to enjoy whatever food and beverages are put before you inside the castle by the queen.

    Such a sacrifice?

No, ME-chelle….that’s not what a sacrifice looks or sounds like….this is:

She was referring to her own “sacrifice” as well as that of her husband and Oprah:

First, thanks for putting up these photos, painful as they are to look at, we can never repay our troops for what they have sacrificed, these images are a necessary reminder of what they go through for all of us.

RBO has a post up where Beck mentioned the cost of both planes total……$2.4 million. They added this video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzoNInZ2ClQ

Think what $2.4 million could have done and ya think that some of these artists are not paying attention to the continuing Obama extravagance?

Cynical and totally inaccurate… your slice of the quote is misrepresenting what Mrs Obama said.

I do not echo Missy on your use of the pic of our honored heroes, but instead think you are totally out of bounds by USING the image of our patriots for unneeded political point. You have no shame, no honor by using their likeness for such activity.

There is one thing by not liking President Obama or his policies, you can even be against his trip to Copenhagen, disagree with Chicago being a host of the Olympics, but an HONEST debate would be nice. Misrepresenting Mrs Obama’s speech and then conflating the misrepresentation with actual pictures of our heroes, our grievously wounded warriors… now that takes duplicity to a whole new level.

Is English not your native language or what?

Clearly ME-chelle was referring to an imagined sacrifice that someone supposedly felt that she and Oprah and Mr. Presi-Debt were subjecting themselves to hence her statement:

As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the President to come for these few days

Let me be clear, once again. What ME-chelle, Oprah, and Obie are engaged in at this moment in Copenhagen has nothing whatsoever at all to do with sacrifice.

Sacrifice is what is reflected in the pictures. Mrs. Obama is the person who is conflating here.

Blake: “Blast- You don’t know anything about being partisan, right? Aye used those pics to make a point, and he was spot on.:

If the pics were made to really represent what was going on. A speech where the first lady mentions that her and the president did not nearly sacrifice as those who worked on bring in the bid… NOT MAKING A CORRELATION BETWEEN Sacrifice IN WAR! Using pics of our heroes under that situation is blatantly partisan. Since the Olympics and the sacrifice of the Chicago Olympic committee had nothing to do with the sacrifice of our heroes. If you wanna post pics of our valorous heroes, just speak to their successes, and sacrifices without trying to drag in other subjects.

I WANT TO SEE FRONT PAGE PICS AND STATS FORM THE FRONTS IN IRAQ AND AFG. They both deserve our attention and CONTEXTUALLY, stories that are salient about what they are doing.

More spin to fog up the reality of the debate. Try to knock down on group or another for political points… just for the sake of doing it. That whole… “I want the president to fail crowd” – I wanted the president to obtain the Olympics… It would have given American the world stage once again.

Blake: I find it offensive that your side wants the pics of the coffins of our brave soldiers photographed- you have no problem with THAT, as long as it might embarrass the previous admin.

Maybe you need to know that Bush did not allow pics of photos of the coffins coming to to DE. Now the policy is to allow pics of coffins if the family’s permit, which I am holy supportive of. During a time of war I don’t feel it is best to allow the government to not present the full cost and that include the dead and injured. Even under President Obama. No death should go without properly being honored. The American people, I believe are smart enough to know when information is being held back on them or they are being lied to. That is what causes the biggest erosion of confidence. Go in for WMS’s, say the militants are in their “last throws” and shit still goes down hill… there is a disconnect between the eyes and ears, and what people are telling you. Maybe things would have been different.

I am and have been well aware of Pres. Bush’s position on the dead soldiers, and have been supportive of it, as there is a fine line between the public’s need to know, and simply salacious propaganda, which is the only reason you libs wanted the pics to be aired- your side has no compunction to withhold offensive pics, no compassion for the families, and no honesty when it comes to the real reason you want these pics shown.
Now to get to the PHONY “SACRIFICE” that poor Michele and Barry simply had to endure- oh pleaseeeee! Give me a freakin’ break- it is such a hardship to travel on a 747, and have to eat possibly wilted arugula, while composing a speech where it is all about HER.
And Barry just has to slam America while he is there, in his speech- he just can’t help himself, can he?
Chicago not getting the Olympics was a good thing- we haven’t the money, in case you hadn’t looked- and the security would have been a booger too, that close to the Canadian border.
So yes- I wanted the Resident to fail- to get the Olympics would have only benefitted a few of his cronies in Chi- town, and no one else.
Besides, Barry needs to kick back and figure out why the rest of the world believes him to be weak as dishwater- after all, when the President of France schools you, you have pretty much hit the bottom of the barrel, wouldn’t you agree?

Double talk, double standard. Using pics of the heroes for partisan purposes is just that. So you see exploiting the actual image’s, including pics of their faces is ok? What a total invasion of privacy! Did any of those in the pics Aye posted know that their images were going to appear in a Flopping Aces? Used by someone who was trashing the First Lady? This is typical of the Obumbles’ wording. What people said this is a sacrifice for those three to go to Copenhagen. They set up a straw man in every speech they give. They are consummate liars.

The real sacrifice is the blood of American GI’s being killed and wounded while Obumble dithers over sending reinforcements to Afghanistan. This is not leadership. He’s a fraud, a phony and a child in a man-suit. Disgraceful.
