And I have thought the same thing as you about “leaders” …what we have now is not leadership in The White House, but management.

I do agree with you, Bonnie – I wasn’t all too ecstatic about supporting McCain either, but I could never back Obama even if I wanted to. McCain wasn’t conservative enough for most of us. And it seems that he’s gone softer since the election has been over. I know he still wants to maintain a “bipartisan” attitude, but I don’t think he realizes that he’s continually losing the little conservative support he has by constantly bending over and taking it just to be on people’s good side. The only way for any Republican to earn any respect is to grow a pair and stand up to the “leaders” – and I put the term in quotes because, let’s face it, we really don’t have anyone in charge who deserves to be called one.

As per the post, bipartisanship indeed! Hopefully this will put those ACORN hacks in their place.

Patvann, I salute you Sir for your role in assuring our freedom through your selfless service to our country. Thank you!

I bought the book Faith of my Fathers by McCain for myself and for my children to read last year.
His story of decisive loyalty to our country in terrific adversity is honorable. I thank God for him.

I will share this from the last page: “My father said to me,”Son. there is no greater thing than to die for the principles_for the country and the principles that you believe in.”

I know that John McCain had the substance to act on that belief. It is perhaps sadder still to see him getting complacent and maintaining the status quo when you read his story and know that he has a reservoir of valor and courage that is needed in such a time as this.

Do you suppose that people really just do mellow in their older age? I cannot fathom how he would forget the next generation given his family’s love for children and their heart-investment in them.

Honest, ma’am, as a Navy Vet, he was my hero for many years, and his story of valor got me though some tough times during my service. I still see his legend as an inspiration to our young warriors.

His story is one of bravery and patriotism that has few equals.

Unfortunately he has forgotten what lesson he imparted to us, and is now only a political whore looking for the next electorial fix.

Patvann, I have been disappointed with Sen. McCain for some time. Initially I was not overjoyed that he was the Republican Candidate for this past Presidential Election. But I decided to get behind him because of his military service and because I would not get behind Obama or for that matter any of the Dem’s choices.

I did not believe Mc Cain to be conservative enough for what is the best interests of our nation. But I have believed that he has had a true and faithful love for our country. Something I have never once thought to be the heart-held substance in Obama. I have always thought that Obama has had an agenda apart from that of a patriot, that of a real statesman.

That said and back to McCain, I saw him give the thumbs up to The President last week in the “big speech” when he got a little “atta boy” from Obama. Yikes! Now who’s calling a white man boy???

All the same, McCain wants to be everybody’s buddy and I am sorry to say it has crossed my mind that he is not far behind Specter.

I voted for him though in the election and really energized by the potential of Sarah Palin. I really do hope she emerges as a candidate in ’12. And that is a two-fold prayer…one that she runs and two that we even have free elections by then!

The latter I am fairly certain we will, thanks to good grassroots endeavors, and that including the fine patriotic folk here at The Flopping Aces.
