Points of interest regarding Obama’s speech:
1. If that’s the best he has, the Obamacare “reform” plan is dead.
2. Obama has, no doubt, been practicing his lying skills. Those who know the truth and have read the various drafts of health care bills know that Obama is lying or at the very least obfuscating.
3. When Obama began to speak about malpractice, I and many in the audience were expecting Obama’s “new” ideas; I was expecting him to say that he would now consider tort reform to curb excessive waste in malpractice suits. But, during a lengthy pause, which I am sure he rehearsed, he mumbled and then said he would work for “safety features” for doctors in their practices. What a FOOL! We know that lawyers have contributed massive amounts of money to his campaigning and Obama is protecting them instead of protecting the public; the voters. So much for his sincerity and “heart-touching” Teddy moments. For Obama this issue had to be the lose-lose moment.
4. Why did Hillary Clinton, Barbara Feinstein and others stand up when Obama criticized the “wasteful” spending on the Iraq and Afghanistan wars? These people voted for the spending on several occasions. The hypocrisy of it was very telling.
5. This one is as odd as they come. Obama said his door was open for those who wished to come to him to negotiate. If this is anything like his promise to be transparent, forget it. He’s lying through his teeth. This is the guy who has blocked any access to his birth certificate and other relevant information on his qualifications to be president. And, on several occasions has had to be sued using the Freedom of Information Act to pry information from him. And, Obama has then the gall to say he serves up the information voluntarily. Lies. Nothing but lies.
6. Obama also said he would not sign a bill that added one singe dime to taxes or the deficit. This is wordplay because he would add millions of dimes to the deficit and taxes.
7. Also, Obama mentioned the historical passage of Medicate and stated a) that there were areas where the government could save by enforcing some kind of efficiency. What I say is why hasn’t he started already; and b) Medicare is more of a subsidy than a wholesale government takeover of an entire system. 8. After saying that the conservatives were using deplorable tactics in the healthcare debate, including scare tactics: Obama himself, when he said “if we don’t do anything”, began to try to scare with a string of lies and threats on what would happen if we did nothing.

Even though I found Bush jr a poor excuse for president I would have found any heckling of him during a speech to congress to have been despicable. Joe Wilson shows he does not understand the office he holds as a representative of South Carolina. He brings great shame to himself.

And of course there are no “death panels” in the legislation. They are called the IMAC health czars, in separate legislation written by the Obama WH and not part of either the Senate or House proposals. Also, those unnamed… but existing… “death panels” will come in the form of Obama’s promise tonight that if it becomes a “budget deficit”, they will “cut costs”… meaning cut the coverage and decide who gets coverage… and doesn’t.
death panel = one defibrillator on hand, and five people having heart attacks at the same time. (i.e. budget cuts that result in less equipment etc for coverage. Whoever is on duty gets to decide who gets the one defibrillator. And for having that privilege of being the unofficial “death czar”, they can thank all those “cuts” that need to be done in the government coverage to make sure it’s not over budget.
So can Obama claim “no death czars”? Yes. Are there unofficial (and official, in the case of the IMAC) “death czars” as a result of his proposals? Undeniably yes. But you’ll give him a pass because they don’t wear the “death czar” uniform and badge.

Joe Wilson is not even defending himself, but all is well.

Mata: The problem with both issues, and also for abortion and others, is that the regulators who set up the framework for implementing the legislation will have a free hand to do what Obama wants anyway, which is to cover illegals, abortions, sex changes etc.
That’s the reason Dems voted against specific amendments offered by the GOP in the House bill that dealt with that and other issues.
If they really didn’t want illegals to get care, then why not vote for the amendment which specifically forbid it?

I attended the Americans for Prosperity event tonight in Raleigh, NC.
The mayor of Charlotte, Pat McCrory (who got a standing O when someone shouted out — you should be governor) led the pre-speech discussion along with Dallas Woodhouse, Civitas rep, and a panel of medical and legislative veterans.
Our purpose was to discuss the issue at hand, health care reform, then watch Barry’s speech, and have a Townhall type follow-up. The crowd of several hundred+ included some SEIU/ACORN disruptors who had the unfortunate experience to sit in front of me….about 10 of them. I am not afraid to shout USA, USA, when they start heckling on stage speakers and/or trying to disrupt the meeting…I am all about diversity of opinion but SEIU/ACORN/David Price people don’t believe in letting other opinions be aired…these morons shouted “Stupid” at anyone clapping or speaking up…they also used a junior high school tactic of staring at people, making faces — made for some laughable moments…WTF…kind of society do they want..demonstrating those antics?
The local news cameras spent most of the night focused on these ten bobble heads who booed Tort reform mentions from the local speakers –until Barry mentioned he would look into it–then started clapping and shouting yea!! (????) They started turning around and staring at us — calling us stupid…we just started shouting USA, USA…unbelievable…I said I was writing an article on the event and were they SEIU or ACORN or were they there representing Congressman David Price (Price is a radical Pelosi SEIU/ACORN minion) — they quit heckling us after that….

We made a mistake putting in all the oil fields and not running them. We were to polilte and set them up and said, hey we can buy some of this oil, right. The Brits would have kept control and maybe keep alot of the wealth out of terrorist hand. I read that is why king , i think his name was Faad at the time not sure, picked the USA to put in the fields because he knew we never colonized and took over as the brits tended to do.

Congressman Joe Wilson will give those Obama haters on the right a woodie, and at the same time showing disrespect to the President of the United States he looses everyone else. Wilson’s opponent in the next election has raised $100,000 overnight.
The fact is…he DID lie. More than that, he KNEW that he was lying, not just about illegals, but other points as well.
Just on illegals being covered… What changed was, and what all the sycophants are spewing as the new talking point, (and I suspect was added for just that purpose), is the following:
H.R. 3200: Sec 246 – NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS: Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.
I see it all over the blogs this morning and about 50 times in Youtube video comments. They say Obama was correct because Section 246 of the House Bill excludes illegals from receiving Individual Affordability Credits. That is true, and one of the few exceptions under the Bill. But it is the exception which proves the rule. IAC’s are just one small part of the benefits covered in the bill. If the standard is the full House Bill, HR3200, then it appears that Obama was lying through his teeth. There is nothing in HR3200 that excludes illegal aliens from any of the OTHER various coverage provisions (with a few limited exceptions).

It’s not that long a report, and I highly recommend it be read. It deals just with the question of illegals.

H.R. 3200 does not contain any restrictions on noncitzens—whether legally or illegally present, or in the United States temporarily or permanently—participating in the Exchange.
As the CRS found, illegal aliens can participate in virtually ALL of the critical aspects of the government health system including the health care exchanges. Since Obama wanted a full House vote passing HR3200 prior to the August recess, Obama was okay with a bill that included illegal aliens. Will these provisions be in a final bill? Count on it. They are designed to not just cover illegals, but to fast track amnesty as well.
How do I get there?
Obama added another new section last night, and to me, it’s a marvel of duplicity; mandatory compliance. EVERYONE has to have insurance. More than being (IMHO) unconstitutional, it appears to have a more nefarious purpose. If everyone has to have insurance, it will be interesting to see how long the exclusion of illegal aliens from getting the credits lasts, since as the CRS notes, illegal aliens are subject to the health care mandate; one can anticipate the argument that if the House Bill requires illegals to have qualified health insurance, some accommodation needs to be made for those who cannot afford it. What might that accommodation be, I wonder…
I bet La Raza and other groups representing illegals that are pushing so hard for this legislation know…

Hey Blast- I live in Texas, but I just sent Joe Wilson 100 dollars- Hell, I woulda paid that much to say that myself. The facts are that He LIES, period. The fact that he is the Resident doesn’t make a bit of difference. You have to call the liars on their lies, or they begin to believe that they can get away with their BS, and this guy is a BIG BSer, maybe the biggest.
And I never heard outrage when the Demmies were Booing Bush in the 2005 State of the Union Speech- where was your outrage then?
Wardogs- the mandatory compliance was always there in HR3200-, including giving the IRS the power to go into your bank accounts and withdraw whatever they felt was “your fair share”.
Oh, so that makes it right? Booing the President of the US is wrong, whether it be Bush or Obama or whoever comes next.

Blast- I am guessing that Rep. Wilson has more respect for THE OFFICE of the presidency than Demmies do- I know I damn sure do not respect the man who sits in that office, that’s for sure. He has proven to be a liar, straight up, and that’s just the good side of him.
