If we are not spending the treasure of our nation and the blood of our American soldiers in Afghanistan to WIN A VICTORY, then what the hell are we doing there at all? Bring our soldiers home from Afghanistan now!
No patriot could be blamed for not wanting to risk life and limb for this slick, dishonest Chicago politician who does not love this country and obviously does not care about the fate of those who fight for it.
History also shows that unless your Genghis Khan, you have no prayer of conquering Afghanistan.
POPPY FIELDS OF MASS DESTRUCTION – Quit Afghanistan the hard way.
The beautiful and delicate poppy that now paints the landscapes of Afghanistan with vibrant colors, has long been the symbol for sacrifice. The aesthetic is as soothing to the sense of sight, as it is exasperating to the conscience.

Time to wake up.Drastic action is required.
Hirohito signing the surrender?
Gosh, our preznit is so super smart when it comes to history and stuff!
Maybe he meant to reference when Hitler climbed out of his bunker to surrender to Patton.
Or when Custer led the charge against the Italians in Casablanca.
Or when Napolean turned the tide in the Battle of the Bulge.
@ObamaIsAJugearedDunce: I thought that might catch your attention. And the libbos said George Bush was a dunce?
Of course you have to remember that in Obama’s mind, if it’s not about him, he doesn’t pay much attention to the details.
let’s see Obama has doubled the number of our troops in Afghanistan and predator drone kills are way up, but somehow this is less than our former dear leader’s efforts over there. After 8 years of Bush’s best efforts over there the Taliban were in conrtol of more of the country than at any time since they were evicted. President (?) Karzai is more like the mayor of Kabul than the President of a country he can’t travel anywhere at all but by helicopter
@John ryan:
Is your point that there is a war being fought in Afghanistan? If so, I commend you on your brief moment of clarity.
If not, please tell us how many more troops will be needed for victory if the raw numbers alone are the key. Please also inform us about the logistics solution involved, given that it is a much more difficult challenge to support troops in Afghanistan than in Iraq.
Do you favor Obama’s campaign threat to send troops into Pakistan? It’s a valid question since the Taliban and al Qaeda disengage and retreat to Pakistan when threatened. The Predator strikes are useful but they will not win the war by themselves.
Have you considered the fact that al Qaeda activity in Afghanistan has increased because they have been getting slaughtered in Iraq? C’mon Field Marshall Ryan, would you reinforce a losing venture in Iraq if you also had to fight in a country adjacent to your own sanctuaries in Pakistan?
Just what is the point of your post?
@tfhr: Don’t hold your breath waiting for an intelligible response from John Ryan. He’s a drive by lefty.
@Mike’s America:
Yeah, I’ve noticed the pattern. It cracks me up that the policies and practices they once condemned during the Bush Administration are now either ignored or lauded.

Isn’t it peculiar that Obama doesn’t like to use the word victory in relation to war but has no problem flaunting his personal victory by constantly reminding the republicans that “he won”?
