    @Mike’s America:

    As they say in Hollywood, “sex sells!”

    @Mike’s America:

    As much as I liked President Clinton, if you described him as “sleazy” I’d have no argument. This… not so much. An embarrassing, blush inducing moment for the President? Absolutely!

    Her mom wants to box Obama’s ears, her dad thinks this has ruined their lives.

    I think whoever released this photo into the public realm is the one to be blamed for the angst now being suffered by the young lady and her family. I have issues with gawkers, but this isn’t one of those types of incidents, sloppy photo editing. Lot’s of fun unless you are the young lady and her family.

  7. @Missy: I’m glad to know the Mother is outraged. Too many might find the attention flattering.

    I guess Missy’s NY Post link confirms the fact she isn’t the daughter of the Brazilian President…. unless, of course, this daddy named Patriarch Eduardo Tavares got Chavez to help him with a Brazilian coup in the last couple of days… LOL

    One or two things about the Bush-butt picture as compared to the Obama-butt pickture:

    The female in the Bush picture is an adult. The one in the Obama is a child.

    The female in the Bush picture, if I remember the accurately reported (don’t remember which blog that was), offered her butt for a “good luck” pat or something. It doesn’t matter what the child in the Obama picture was doing because she is a child.

    In the Bush picture, the man (Mr. Bush) is standing there with a drink in his hand looking bemusedly at the camera. In the Obama picture, the man (Mr. Obama) is bent over like he was on his way in for a sniff.

    And in other news, did you see what the Russians did in the hand-shake game?

    Yup. And Bush, like a good Christian and astute politician, opted to pat her on the backside, and not the butt.

    Gaffa,

    I didn’t think anyone would be so moral-equivalence-clumsy as to post that old story.

    Guess I was wrong.

  12. @GaffaUK: As usual another of your lame moral equivalency arguments. And it further undermines your credibilty citing a source that opens their post with “Former President Bush may lack a lot of things; a grasp on reality is one of them. ” But I imagine that is where you get most of your “news.”

    Is that the same site where you “learned” so much about Sarah Palin?

    @Wordsmith: What is the record?

    @Mike

    Yes obviously I get all my info from Sarah Palin on bikinibuys.com;)

    As for your lame moral equivalency arguments – I’m happy to have agreement with this site never to use any such equivalents moral or otherwise with former Presidents IF the moderators & regulars do likewise. Can’t see that happening…how many times do you get the whine – they (MSM/left/whoever) wouldn’t let Bush get away with that. What’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

    You were cornered when it was shown that Bush had his feet on the Oval desk – the same as Obama. Yet you didn’t give out the same complaints over Bush on that one…

    As for child – she’s either 16 or 17 – depending on the reports you read. Above the age of consent in plenty of States in the US and certainly in Italy. If I saw a pretty 16 or 17 year old passing by I don’t think I would be a ‘pedo’ if I snuck a look. Of course you wouldn’t dream of doing such a thing….;)

  14. I was just reading over this thread, literally in the process of laughing out loud, when I came across:

    You sure Larry W. didn’t slip you some Kool Aid?

    Reaction #1: flattered. We all, at some level, hope that we’ll make a difference to the world.

    Reaction #2: Mike is kidding, certainly. He’s in on the joke. Certainly he realizes that God put butts on women, in large measure, to be noticed by men.

    Reaction #3: No, he’s not kidding. This is one hard core dude.

    Signed,

    That Larry W (from good ole HB)

    P.S. I’ve decided that my favorite GOP Senator is Lindsay Graham. I’ve been following him closely since the Clinton impeachment. He is a forthright, intelligent, and eminently fair politician, which is about all for which one could ask. I’d vote for him over, for example, the likes of John Kerry (although, at this point, I’d still vote for Obama — I’m truly opposed to the “stimulus,” along with being opposed to TARP, but I’d have been even more opposed to naked high income-bracket tax cuts as a stimulus, as had been proposed by the GOP).

  15. @openid.aol.com/runnswim: Larry, if you love Lindsay so much then move to SC. Something tells me that even if you were his constituent, as I am, you would still vote for the Democrat.

    However, I’ll be happy to note that since you fully endorse Lindsay, then I can cite all of his opinions which you will be compelled to agree with from now on/

    Right?

    I like Lindsey’s position on immigration. I voted for him. You don’t have to fully support every position a candidate (or in your case- party) has.

  17. @Mike,

    No, I don’t agree with all of Lindsay’s positions, but I could live with him as my President. I don’t agree with many of the decisions of Roberts and Alito, either, but I think that they are outstanding SC justices.

    I voted for Dana Rohrabacher (GOP) for Congress in my district, and he’s a much more strident conservative than is Lindsay. But Dana also has a strong libertarian streak. Anyway, I’m a fan of divided government. The best government we’ve had in my adult life was circa 1994-96. A truly golden era in governance.

    My earliest candidate for President in the 2008 election was Mitt Romney. This was the former Mitt Romney, GOP Governor of Massachussetts, not the Sarah-Palin-without-a-skirt panderer, who decided to say anything it took to win GOP primaries. But (the former) Romney is a good example of the sort of Republican whom I admire — sadly, a vanishing breed.

    I like Lindsay because he’s willing to concede, occasionally, that the other side may have a legitimate point. I think that he’s about as moderate as he can be, and still faithfully represent his South Carolina constituents. I think that, as President, he’d have a national constituency and might actually be able to be that elusive “uniter,” which so many of us non-polar voters hope to see elected, some day.

    ”The only way she can get derailed is if she performs poorly next week,” acknowledged Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., a Senate Judiciary Committee member. He said he was still undecided, but added, “I honestly think I could vote for her.”

    Having noted the above, I hardly consider an affirmative vote on Sotomayer to be a litmus test for President. I’m personally waiting to hear/read about all of Sotomayer’s confirmation hearings to decide whether or not she’s the one I’d like to see appointed to Souter’s seat.

    ..and, finally…
    “I’ve been on the fence as to whether Senators should vote to confirm Sonia Sotomayor, but this rather breathtaking dishonesty provides strong grounds to vote against her confirmation.”
    http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2009/07/024048.php

    Yeah, looks like voting for or against her could easily be a “litmus test” from where I sit.

    But what does that have to do with a dirty old man oggling a child, and making a public fool out of himself and the office he represents?
