Obama did pal around with William Ayers & his wife Dohrn, both of whom are unapologetic terrorists. Ergo, Obama does pal around with terrorists.

It’s been commented on in other threads about Sarah, Hawk. So if anyone’s read them all… plus comments… they know about it. But I haven’t had time to post on it, nor am inclined to until she files a lawsuit. In the meantime, Liberal Alaskan Blogger and MudFlaps have been whining loudly about “threats”… this after their silence about Obama’s massive intimidation scams over the Chrysler bankruptcy and giving it to the unions, and the cap and trade legislation in the halls of Congress.

But then, there’s just no cure for stupid.

Tammy L: I wonder what happened to us as a people that we have learned to tolerate this kind of uncivility and abuse as normal.

I absolutely agree that social graces and civil society has taken a nosedrive, Tammy. And oddly enough, I consider this a negative byproduct of the otherwise amazing tools we know as the Internet, blogs and social sites such as Facebook and Twitter. I can mentally track human breakdown in civil conversations right along with the popularity and use of this new communication technology in the past decade.

Anonyminity makes the heart braver, fearing no serious repercussions. Gone are the days when our mothers and grandmothers would say, “if you don’t have anything nice to say, then say nothing at all” merely to maintain a civil society. And no, that didn’t mean you gave up the right of free speech… as I’m sure the liberal progressive word parsers will pounce upon. It simply meant there are issues where speaking up is important, but it was always important to keep your discourse civil.

We all learn by example. And when the media takes delight in our “shock jock” Congress members, we all do the same in the ranks. It becomes the new norm… and even easier when you hide behind a keyboard.

As part of the older generation, and still desperately clinging to the days when grandma’s rule held say, my first thought to myself when I blow out a heated response is… “would I say this to this same person’s face”? If the answer is yes, I do it. If not? I temper my response.

However the younger generation dominating the underground “news” in the info age are not schooled in social graces. And just as Alinsky tactics and slime politics are the new norm, social graces are now passe…. never to return. This I lament. But I am a dying breed.

So I can wish for a return to some old sensible manners like a fool, or I can adapt with the times when the issue commands the abandonment of all I hold dear for human to human interaction. I choose the latter, because the stakes are too high… not as much for me, but for my son and family.
