Herman, been there, done that. GOP spent like Dems while controlling the WH. All antithesis to the core belief of fiscal conservative government and economics. They were rewarded for their Dem-lite behavior by being ushered out by GOPers who didn’t support them. McCain never enjoyed the support of conservatives but by the “lesser evil” argument.

Instead the nation voted for a guy espousing conservative values… tax cuts for 95% of Americans. They were fooled.

Obama’s conservative promise dies when their $13 per paycheck tax cut sunsets in a year and a half, and more taxes will be added for health care. You’ll be forced to buy health care, or you will have a “special tax” for not, filed along with your tax return.

Piling on will be soaring energy costs with cap and trade and forced alternative energy, all festered by the Dem’s stubborn refusal to mine for more affordable oil, shale and gas in our territories.

The piece de resistance will be salary caps for a large segment of US private enterprise… from factory workers to health insurance salesman – agents and brokers alike. (see the first of the three stories in my Three Big Stories you’re missing post.

What you seem to miss is that the nation voted for tax cuts, and Obama’s promise that he could deliver them the moon for no charge, and money back in their pockets. How? “The rich” are going to pay for it all.

Reality’s going to be worse than a severe hangover by the time some of you “get it”.

Actually, the Gallup polling information supports my point.

The GOP has allowed itself to drift to the mushy squishy middle rather than standing for true conservative values.

Of course this party identification poll, taken after just over 100 plus days of Obie SpendaThon indicates that party identity is shifting back toward the Republican side.

None of that matters though if the Republicans cannot get themselves back in touch with basic conservative values.
